"Don't be fooled by the name!"
The service was not good, it took forever for the check in line to move. Once I got to the front of the line it was a hassle because I wanted to leave a 100 cash deposit opposed to a $25 hold on a debit card. The room looks nothing like the pics online. "Never Again!"
I'll start by saying this stay was quite possibly the worst I've ever had. We chose The Crowne Plaza because of it's downtown location for a quick trip with friends. Upon arrival to the hotel no one was helpful with our luggage to the room at all. By the time we got to the room after showering we realized the shower did not drain water. With no extra […] rooms we chose to stick it out. After a night on the town we returned to the worst part of our stay. Apparently during weekends the hotel rents out part of their downstairs area for a trashy nightclub. The Hotel Bar is not available during these hours to hotel guests and the lobby bathrooms are blocked off by security (THE HOTEL BATHROOMS). After waiting in a 15 minute line to take the elevator to our room we were approached by a hotel employee to ask if everything was alright. Far from "Alright" we described our discontent and the hotel employee said, "Oh well I'm sorry, have a great night". Needless to say upon checkout I was not surprised they did not even ask me or my wife how the stay was. All together this was definitely the wort hotel experience in my life. Well to first start off, we had purchased a king bed suite and we got there and they didn't even tell us it was available and gave us a double queen bed with no mini fridge, no microwave, no king bed, and no fridge to keep our cold things in. We had paid extra for the king and never got the room so we lost money and got a terrible room. The shower did not have working warm or hot water so we had to take cold showers, the toliet was leaking. The sink water was only warm and would not get cold. Did not come with 80% of the things we wanted or need in the kind room. The breakfast was absolutely terrible but the restaraunt location was nice. My wife and I stayed at this location for our 10 year anniversary. These are the reasons why you should not stay at this hotel: 1. Horrible Customer Service 2. Way Expensive- Poor Quality 3. Shuttle always late- Running Behind 4. Non Smoking Rooms smell like Old Smoke 5. Staff have no sense of direction as to where things are in the area. 6. No bellman […] at arrival, No Conceirge 7. "Crown Plaza Downtown Dallas"
I will never return to this hotel ever again. When checking in, they told me the King Suite w/ Balcony , refrigerator and microwave was not available because another customer decided to stay another night. This hotel was more of party central. Loud music in the rooms and you could hear people talking and laughing until 4 AM! I called the front desk, they said they would take care of it. The crowne plaza in Dallas was less than what I expected. When they said they couldn't find my RSRV the front desk clerk said there was nothing she could do and walked off.
