"Good - Over-all"
Found an empty pack of cigarettes in the bed stand (that was apperantly overlooked by housekeeping)... Found a live wasp in the bathroom (not sure how that happened on the 7th floor)... The staff was very freindly and helpful... All in all, it was a nice stay...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bright Lights/Big City"
Check-in/check-out was easy and the staff was polite and helpful. Nothing really wrong with this place except it is showing it's age but, so am I. It is also a little noisy on the side facing Central Expressway but it wasn't too bad, probably because I'm also hard of hearing. "No phone No room"
Everything was good except I didi not have a working phone in my room. I tried to call down for a wake up call about 9:30 and the phone didn't work so i walked down and talked to the night manager he said he would take care of it in the next few minutes. Over an hour later He came to my room, played with the Phones, said he had one working and left. […] An hour later he knocks on my door (it si now 11:30 an dI have a 6 am wake up call. He informs me that the phones are not woking and that I must change rooms, gives me a key to another room on another floor and I get dressed and move myself. Our stay here was nice, except that we were very near what I consider to be a dangerous neighborhood. Although the hotel couldn't control this, there was a domestic altercation in the parking lot that seriously concerned me as to the type of people staying there. "Nice enough roommate for the money"
The room was a good size. Love the free Internet. Love the pool. However, the person at the front desk was NEVER there. They were always in the back room. The room was not cleaned while I stayed. "La Quinta North Central Expressway"
The hotel is right on 75 (North Central Expressway) near Meadow Lane, which is perfectly located for shopping, such as Northpark Mall and the trendy Know/Henderson area and also gives you plenty of dining options, all within 15 miles. We love to have Sunday brunch at Blue Mesa, just across from Northpark Mall. You are also very close to downtown for […] the theatre and musuems. The first impression of the hotel lobby is bright and airy and for those looking to save money and time, there is a "help yourself" breakfast available with plenty of seating available. Checking in and out was fairly quick and painless. We booked our stay with Hotels.com so it was pre-paid, saving us time and money. Another welcoming feature is the pool and hottub in a nicely landscaped setting. While not a large pool and only up to 5 feet deep, it will cool you off from the Texas heat! The rooms are a nice size with comfortable and CLEAN beds. I also felt safe walking on the carpet with my bare feet. Our room faced the freeway and was suprisingly quiet. We were on the 6th floor and that may have made a difference. I have to mention the elevator was extremely slow, but there is always the stairs if you are not bogged down with too much luggage. Not a big deal but worth mentioning, the vending machines were either not present or not working on every floor. The one near the lobby was working , so grab a cold drink or snack on the way to your room. Unfortunately, there is not a mini fridge provided in the room, which is a perk I enjoy, but there is a coffee maker in the bathroom.
