"noisy and poor water pressure"
We complained about the fact that the water pressure was so low. The maintenance guy told me it was because of the type of shower head ....which is total bunk! When you have to run the water for several minutes just to get hot water - even in the sink.....THAT is a low pressure issue. In short, taking a shower in that hotel requires a lot more time […] especially if you want to wash your hair. The door which connects the neighboring room is an amazing conductor of sound. "nice hotel, but needs updating"
I booked a large suite for 4 people, my reservation said breakfast was included, however, when I got to the hotel, I only got 2 vouchers for the breakfast buffet and was told I had to pay for the other 2. If I had known that ahead of time I would have booked a different hotel where we could get breakfast included for everyone (which you get in hotels […] like Hyatt Place). We stayed in the cabana side of the hotel, our suite was comfortable, but it smelled like cigarette smoke near the entrance, even though it was a non-smoking room. I guess they allow guests to smoke in the hallways or the pool and the smell gets into the rooms. Carpets needed some cleaning, and appliances in the kitchenette were old. The "Complimentary" internet didn't work. Bedding was slightly stained. Elevators didn't work, had to take the svc elevator... Staff wasn't very friendly. 'Premium' cable consisted of Showtime. "My impression from their web description did not match reality"
I stayed a few nights at the MCM Elegante with mixed feelings. From a distance the hotel looked fine, but up close there were noticeable signs of aging. The paint was slightly cracked, the interior decor slightly out of date, and the bathroom has a few patches and spots of rework. When I arrived in the middle of the night, ALL the lights in the room […] were on. I mean everything. Main lighting, desk lamps, both lamps next to desk, even the bathroom lights. Is that really necessary? Such a waste to imagine they may do this as standard practice on all their empty rooms! Cleaning crew was great. Very nice and helpful, I actually left them a nice tip. Same with the courtesy van drivers. Now that I think about it, all the employees were very nice and professional. Morning buffet is basic (eggs, sausage, bacon, yogurt, juice, etc) but good. Several great places to eat nearby and the hotel van will take you and bring you back when you're done. Parking was plentiful, no worries about being at the far end of the lot. Major freeways very close (but confusing to get around, ask front desk for advice to get to where you're going). Not a bad hotel, but my impression was that this was a higher end hotel and it was not. So maybe because my expectations were a bit high that I felt a little let down. First the Location of the Hotel is nice, easy access to the Freeways, many restaurants on the same road and yes even a Starbucks across the street. The employees were really friendly and helpful. Hotel website says there is complimentary breakfast, but when I called front desk to verify that, they said we'd be charged if we received our room at discounted rate. I said we did, so she said we don't get free breakfast. Just when breakfast was nearly over, we found two breakfast passes in our key card holder! We made it down in time for cold bacon […] crumbs, tasteless hash browns, and these egg-covered toasts that may have been French toast. Oh, but there were no plates. The first thing I noticed is it is a little out dated. The room we are in is next to the pool (which is very nice considering it was over 100 today) and the room does smell a little "weird" its not stinky but there is like an odor I can't explain, we suspect it is coming from the carpet or vents. "MCM Hotel"
This is the 3rd time that I have stayed at this hotel. The first two times were good experiences. This visit was a disappointment. At check in I was told that they had no no-smoking rooms available even though I requested this when making my reservation 2 months ago. They say that asking for no-smoking rooms when reserving is merely a request and not […] a guarantee. I spent the first night in a smoking room with assuarance that I would be moved to a no-smoking room the next day. When I asked about my room the next day the front desk mgr said again that no rooms were available. When I asked the person who made the promise to me about this situation he confronted the desk mgr and they argued in front of me on how this should be handled. I ended up with a no-smoking room that was old and in need of updating. The carpet was stained, the air conditioner could not keep up with the heat outside, the internet only worked occasionally and the TV didn't get reception on many channels. The hotel is a nice hotel and seemed family friendly. It is right off the freeway so easily accessible. The food at the breakfast buffet was okay. The service was good. It's not a new hotel, but it is very clean. We were on the 7th floor and one of the two elevators stopped working. The other elevator was working overtime so we walked down 7 flights […] of stairs for breakfast and let the hotel staff know. It was fixed by the time we came back later in the afternoon. There are many restaurants very close by from high to low in price and a Starbucks was across the street. All in all a pleasant place to stay. OK, business travelers, if your looking for a deal, then you get what you pay for, if you know what I mean.
