hotel was clean. linen and room smelled fresh. quality of service was great. I was taken to my room and the front desk clerk took my bags out of my car and into my room. wifi worked great. Bad from the start. We were running late and were told if we didn't make it soon, we would lose the room. Then we chack in and find out parking is extra. The lights didn't work in the room and when we called about it, they told us to deal with it and good luck. The TV wasn't working properly and when we told them about that, they said they would send […] someone. We never had any one actually come and the TV never got better. The shower would run out of hot water before 1 person's shower was over and there were two of us. While it was close to the beach, your view was of walls, allys and another person's bed room. Hollywood Beach Hotels (or HBH as their employees call it) have multiple buildings that they run as a hotel. I stayed at the Flamingo building. Reserved a room with 2 double beds a few days before I arrived. At check in time they said they had overbooked so if I wait 2 hrs they can upgrade me to a 3br suite. If you are the kind that wants total luxury, a la the Ritz, then this is not your kind of hotel----keep searching. If you are the kind that likes a cozy, beachy feeling to your room and your hotel, then book it right now. The hotel complex is a series of 4-5 buildings adjacent to each other. We had a large efficiency at Blue Wave building and it was […] lovely, clean, convenient, roomy, and pretty. The pool on the patio area was clean and warmer than the Atlantic Ocean had been. The balconies were nice, giving a good view and offering a little table and chairs to eat outdoors.......and the kitchens were small but well appointed. The dishes were real plates, not plastic junk. The beach boardwalk was about 1/2 block away, just a short stroll. It was not like walking down a city street to get there, more like a walk down a neighborhood area. It was a private area, with only hotel customers parking there. No traffic. There were no phones in the room, but that was not a problem, as most people have cell phones. The lobby had a phone with free calls anywhere in the US or Canada. This was convenient because the phone calls were free. There were also a couple of good computers in the lobby for internet use. The only problem I had was with the hotel's internet server from the room itself. I brought my laptop but had trouble picking up a clear signal. It was easier to use the computers in the lobby. The price was excellent because I booked over the internet, but I'd beware of just walking in off the street and asking for a room w/o reservations, as they probably would jack up the price.
