Here was what was good about this hotel: location, clean towels, clean sheets. The fridge was great too once I found it (hidden inside a dresser?!) Heres the ugly part: YEARS of dust on every picture, mirror, behind tv; there must have been 300 ppl's DNA all of our room & the entire hotel. Amd thr fact the each of our 3 days there- the elevator died. […] So forna person with 2 broken legs from not even 2 yrs ago- the 2nd floor room was a horrible hike. There were literally holes with exposed wires in atleast 4 places I saw, & the plaster walls were falling apart. "Great Location -Cheap remodel - not worth price"
Remodel is being done on the cheap - poor paint job, instead of encasing wiring into the conduit in walls or at least in track on wall - left dangling. Towels and bathmats should have been discarded months ago- skimpy soap for bath and hands, soap dish on sink - stupid. Did furnish "old" beach towels, umbrella & chair for beach and has free parking. […] Persons at desk - not too pleasant at all - Appear to be funding remodel with use of hotel during remodeling, Hall floors broken tiles, ceiling tiles broken, some old some new tiles. Bed and bedding were very good. NO directory for TV stations asked, do not have. Lobby empty except for desk - few chairs along walls in lobby. It has a long way to go .. our room was noisy from A/C units right outside window . The room floor and bathroom floor were not cleaned . Hair from previous guests was on bathroom floor . The hotel is under construction with areas of the hotel all torn up. The Lobby had no appeal. You had to be given an Iron & Iron Board to take up to your room. The TV was very dated. "Ok for the price"
Location is great, lots of bars and restaraunts around. Shower barely put out enough water to get wet and when I mentioned it at the front desk all they said was they didn't have any other rooms. "If you spend time IN the room, you won't like this"
Location - As good as it gets. Period. The hotel and room itself is dilapidated. Turned on the shower, rusty water came out. Everything is ridiculously old - except - for new windows. Go figure. A/C worked good too, gotta throw that in there. Oceanfront room view is fantastic. The rooms are nothing to write home about, however, the hallways are dreadful. […] Dreadfully noisy. When we booked nobody told us the hotel was being remodeled. ,Having said that, the rooms look nothing like the pictures -- they are tiny. There are no phones in the room or DVD player. The floors are not carpeted and all the sand inevitable you bring from the beach stay on the floor and on your feet and then on your bed. "WARNING! Expedia Rents Rooms Under Construction."
The hotel is under rennovations. However, they have stopped and are not currently working on the hotel. As such, the hotel is in in a construction zone. The price of the hotel with that is overpriced. The hotel entrance is also right off the main street. There is no place to park by the entrace while you register. As such, you have to park a bit away […] from the front entrance and walk with your bags in hand to the front door. Ideally, they would have someone at the front to help with bags so that one would not have to do this. Also, one has to walk from the parking lot past other residential properties to get to the hotel. It looks like the building was in foreclosure, is in foreclosure, or the owner ran out of money while rennovating. The Hotel Sheldon is in poor condition. I felt like I was staying at the YMCA in an inner-city. The hotel is in need of major renovation. DIrt was everywhere inside. I had a guest come over & I was embarrassed that I was staying there. I knew ahead of time that it was being renovated, but had no idea that it was such an ugly hotel & in such bad shape. […] The prices need to be cut in half...it is currently a waste of money. I won't stay there again. The noise of jack hammers & grinders all day drove me crazy. "Hotel Sheldon- spend money elsewhere"
Arriving late at night, the hotel wasn't easily found and the exterior of the building was in shambles due to the remodel. Upon entering the lobby, found the desk attendant to be asleep. Once he woke up, I checked in and because of the renovations had to lug my large suitcase up the stairs because the elevator was boarded up. I had to walk around the […] entire second floor to another set of stairs on the opposite side to get to the third floor, which has not been updated in quite some time. The whole third floor was NOT impressive, to say the least. My room was dirty and even the towels looked like they had not been washed, so I had to use some clean clothes out of my suitcase to dry myself off. There was no deadbolt or safety lock, only a doorknob with a push button that popped out if someone jiggled the knob from the other side, which I was not happy about. The "complimentary wireless access" I read about did not work. I was only there for one night, luckily, because I could not wait to get out of there. Sur la fiche de l'hôtel,on indique chambre de luxe avec balcon, il n'y avait pas de balcon dans notre chambre, pour le luxe il n'y en a pas au contraire, il n'y avait que de vieux meubles, pour le réfrigérateur il fallait mettre une brochure pour le garder à niveau, sinon la porte ouvrait toute seule, un seul et très gros fauteuil pour s'asseoir à table […] et qui prend toute la place, j'ai demandé une deuxième chaise, on nous a donné une chaise d'ordinateur à roulette, au moins elle ne prenait pas autant de place, la porte de la toilette ne fermait pas tellement il y avait de couches de peinture, mais pas aux bons endroits car les devants de la porte étaient complètement défraîchi.La climatisation partait continuellement, un ajustement s'impose sûrement, de plus le bruit du système ressemblait au moteur d'un camion, bref à éviter. Un plus on a une belle page devant, on a plusieurs choix de restaurants mais on dirait que la nourriture est cuisinée par des enfants, ex: toast et oeufs froids, pain à hotdog steamé mais toasté mais froid. Cet hotel est ehntravaux et il ne devrait pas etre ouvert...pour y rentrer on est obligé de passer sous les baches et echafaudages à l'interieur meme de l'hotel du hall!! "nur die Lage ist sehr gut"
Das Hotel wird wohl zur Zeit umgebaut, was aber nicht gestört hat. Es liegt direkt an der Promenade/ am Strand. Die Fenster kann man nur auf "kipp" stellen. Die Toiletten-Spülung pfeift, so dass das ganze Hotel wach wird. Die Toilettentür lässt sich nicht schließen.
