    Well, this was a winner for my germ-a-phobic wife. It showed that Red Lion clearly recognizes that it matters that hotels do not was their comforters and were willing to address this issue. Well-done. My wife says she will stay in a Red Lion any time.

    Seems to be the new "hotel row", well east of failing Grants. Walmart right next door! Nonetheless, the hotel shows poor upkeep, with poor fixtures & caulking cracked, dirty carpet corners, and the like. Overall it was clean enough that I'd reluctantly stay again. Spa was hot, pool was pleasant. Nice breakfast.

    I feel bad that I couldn't give this place a higher rating. The staff couldn't have been any nicer, but the condition of the carpeting in the room and throughout the hotel was very bad. Especially in the restaurant. I don't know why but a filthy carpet just makes everything look that much worse. The food was okay, but the whole place needs cleaned up […] and everything needs replaced (carpet, serving tables, decor,). I know it's in a bit of a depressed area, and the things that need fixed would be very expensive, but being so close to Albuquerque, I think if they could do some repairs and replacements, they might get some business from travelers who don't want to spend alot of money in Albuquerque, or in my case, I couldn't find any hotels within my price range there because of the annual ballon festival.     This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had and I’ve stayed in many over the years. The staff was extremely rude when they checked us in and in the middle of the night when I called to complain. One lady just hung up the phone. The lobby looks very presentable with “rate us” signs everywhere but the hallway carpets are disgusting, the […] whole place smelled like smoke, the rooms are filthy, the bath tub didn’t drain, and the refrigerator didn’t work.     We started staying at this hotel when it was a Best Western and were delighted when Red Lion bought it and remodeled everything.     We stayed for a special event. The event center, food and staff were outstanding. Breakfast in the AM was amazing and they opened it up early for us(4:15am!!). Now to review the room......towels literally fell apart when used they were so thin. sink stopper non functional. bathtub stopper non functional as far as i could tell. Spend some money on some […] nice fluffy towels and fix the broken stuff if you are going to install granite tops. Overall room was clean but rooms still need more updating for 3 figures a night.     No room service at night. If extras needed for room you have to go to front desk to obtain. Broken concrete surface in area outside pool. No fresh towels last 2 days of stay, "ran out". Never cleaned room after 1st day, desk said "customers were asked if they wanted rooms cleaned", I was never asked.     It was just convenient to stay at the hotel also it is not the most welcoming area, the town of Grants is rather quiet, thus the hotel seemed on the down. The indoor sweeping pool was out of business! The website is misleading in that aspect.
