Seems to be the new "hotel row", well east of failing Grants. Walmart right next door! I feel bad that I couldn't give this place a higher rating. The staff couldn't have been any nicer, but the condition of the carpeting in the room and throughout the hotel was very bad. Especially in the restaurant. I don't know why but a filthy carpet just makes everything look that much worse. The food was okay, but the whole place needs cleaned up […] and everything needs replaced (carpet, serving tables, decor,). I know it's in a bit of a depressed area, and the things that need fixed would be very expensive, but being so close to Albuquerque, I think if they could do some repairs and replacements, they might get some business from travelers who don't want to spend alot of money in Albuquerque, or in my case, I couldn't find any hotels within my price range there because of the annual ballon festival. "Smells like an Ash Tray and the Tubs dont Drain"
This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had and I’ve stayed in many over the years. The staff was extremely rude when they checked us in and in the middle of the night when I called to complain. One lady just hung up the phone. The lobby looks very presentable with “rate us” signs everywhere but the hallway carpets are disgusting, the […] whole place smelled like smoke, the rooms are filthy, the bath tub didn’t drain, and the refrigerator didn’t work. We started staying at this hotel when it was a Best Western and were delighted when Red Lion bought it and remodeled everything. We stayed for a special event. The event center, food and staff were outstanding. Breakfast in the AM was amazing and they opened it up early for us(4:15am!!).
