My wife, our eight year old, and I set out for our annual trip to the Rib cook off in Sparks,NV. We didn't want to pay the over inflated prices to stay in Sparks or Reno so I searched around. I found this reasonable hotel for less then a hundred bucks and was just about 30 miles from the Rib cook off event. "NICE AND QUIET AT NIGHT.."
NICE HOTEL.. but they did not give us, two guests, a missing towel..the room only had one hand towel for two guests..we had two bath towels. the desk lady said she had no time to bring us another hand towel..otherwise the room was nice and comfortable, workers were friendly..at breakfast the fire alarm went off, extremely loud, and they did not know […] how to turn off the fire alarm until the fire dept. arrived. only loud for about 8 minutes. in the shower the bath tub was broken ,OR, the floor of the tub was cracked as when you stepped on the tub to take a shower, it made a loud cracking noise... It was nice to have a small refrigerator and a small microwave in the room.. the ice machine on our floor, 3 rd, malfunctioned and ice went all over the floor as we arrived on our floor, it was quite a messy sight..desk person said it happened also the night before we arrived.. not a big problem for us..all hotels should give one sheet of paper to guests , showing location of local hospital, three parks, a local library, directions to LAKE TAHOE , AND OTHER VERY BASIC INFO..FOR GUESTS.. We stayed for only one night, but had a good experience. The hotel is on the main street through town, so everything was easily accessible. Our 3rd floor room was quiet and clean, with interior corridors that were attractive, clean, and again, quiet. "Excelent; huge room"
The rooms in main building are a bit old, but big, comfortable, and clean. Large desk with good lighting; wi-fi works well. Walk down the street to pretty capitol grounds and local downtown restaurants. Exercise room (not fancy) includes cardio and strength. Great breakfast. Attentive staff. "4th of July stay"
Picked this because of it's reviews. We actually had 2 rooms, 1 with a kitchen 1 without. When we arrived a bit after 3:30 our rooms were not ready we wee told it would be an hr & because we had a service dog they had a problem locating rooms for us. We ended up in the older building. The kitchenet room seemed small & smelt of onions but it was clean […] & on the ground floor which was good for us. The other room took us requesting a new room 3 times before we got 1 that the AC worked in & did NOT smell like smoke in the "non smoking" rooms we requested. the 2 front desk clerks that checked us in seemed a bit put out by us being there at all, but the eveing clerk that had to help us find a good room was extremely helpful & apologetic. We found in the a.m. that our shower head was broke my husband went to the front desk & found a "will return in 5 min" note on the counter after waiting 20 he left a note requesting it to be repaired. Upon arriving back at the hotel at 7pm & finding it still not working I spoke with the same gentleman from the evening before & even tho the "maintenance crew" had left he had our shower head replaced within 20 minutes. That man needs a raise! The maids only cleaned 1 or the 2 rooms. The surounding area was quite, we felt safe. The town had a great 4th Celebration. Very nice for the money. Extremely clean. We only stayed one night but the service we encountered was great. The room had a microwave, fridge and sink. My only complaint is that the shower was small and the water pressure was too light. My family and I had never been to Lake Tahoe and we had heard about Virginia City so we decided to stay in Carson City for the weekend. The one night stay was great, the staff was very helpful and they provided me with a desk lamp late at night while I did some work.
