I think other reviews I have seen for this hotel have underrated it. It is true that it is not in the middle of town or right on the beach--but that is why it is cheaper. I got a room with two queen beds, which was not available at other inexpensive hotels, and much, much more expensive elsewhere. The Microtel Inn is a good value for the Seaside area. Many of the hotels are older and overpriced, especially closer to the beach. It's a bit of a walk to get to the beach from the hotel, but not too bad. Getting to the downtown shopping area is another story, you'll need to drive. Not a big deal, however. It's on the South end of town on US101, with […] easy access to points south such as Cannon Beach. The hotel itself is not bad, it's fairly new, the rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast is OK, nothing too fancy. No waffles, no biscuits and gravy, basically just yogurt, a bit of fruit, muffins, bagels, and cereal. One nice touch is that they provide coffee and hot chocolate (packets) at all hours. One review said there's a pool, that's not true. It's too cool most of the time in Seaside to swim anyway.
