Overall the room was clean but the furniture wasn't in the best shape (one night stand actually had a piece of the drawer cut out and it looked like it was used to repair the other nightstand). The bathroom door wouldn't close or lock. When taking a shower the water would get extremely cold, then extremely hot, then ok. Absolutely great location. Right by Old Town to explore the restaurants, shops, Whaley House, etc. Very short drive to SeaWorld, or one of the area beaches. "Exceeded Expectations"
I was looking for an affordable place to stay but still close to all the major attractions in San Diego. The location is 1 block from Old Town and a super quick drive to Balboa, Pt. "Either we're unlucky or Padre Trail has gone bad"
The good news: Staff still friendly and tries hard. Bad news: Maintenance is woeful: Shower temperature was erratic for three days,from cold to scalding and back in seconds. This was such a lucky find on such short notice; the service was polite and friendly, the atmosphere in the lobby and was very welcoming.
