I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room was very noisy due to traffic noise and not clean. There are some sort of jets that fly over every night around 11 pm that shake the whole hotel. They said just mine but did not follow up with an offer to switch rooms. I took pictures and will be sending them to corporate Best Western. Hated on the first night, got the top floor room 608, too much noise from the roof A/C unit. unable to sleep. Staff won't change room for us, because nothing was available. "Don't stay here"
When we checked in last night our niece crawled into bed without us checking out the bed. When she got up in the middle of the night we found there was dried blood on the sheets. We complained in the morning and asked for immediate service to clean the room and put new sheets on a sanitized bed. They promised it would be done immediately. Late afternoon […] we returned to the room after our event and the room had not been cleaned. Housekeeping hadn't even been informed of our complaint to the front desk. When we went back to the front desk to complain again we mentioned the bloody sheets and the desk clerk said "Oh room 512." Ummm no, we were in room 607. Booked 3 rooms at this hotel because I had family coming into town. Pictures shown here are misleading, I paid extra for the "harbor view" rooms and did not receive rooms with views. Room #1 (5th floor) - view of stairs outside. Room #2 (3rd floor) - view of buildings across the street. Neither room had even the slightest glimpse of of the harbor. […] Buyer beware - the rooms weren't bad, but I would avoid paying extra for the harbor view rooms because you might not even get a view. I booked this hotel months ago and thought it would be a good deal. My family was excited about San Diego. The staff was rude. The room had beds that might as well have been boards. I wouldn't stay in this hotel one more time and would never recommend it to my friends...maybe to my enemies...Hotel stuffs are not polite at all. Right upon arrival I got it in my face: "well, you paid for the cheapest room..." after I requested a room where the AC unit is not noisy and trembling...well, it wasn't not that chap for a family with kids!!! […] Why don't they sleep in a noisy room during their vacation???...And they shouldn't judge people based on financial capabilities. Finally, they put us into a room from which we literally had been kicked out after two nights. I didn't get it why...they just told us we have to move...oh yeah...the way they told us...6:30am we had been showered with several calls via the hotel line, they woke us up with that noise, my toddler was creaming during the whole morning due to this. Since we were mad we pull the cord out of the outlet to prevent further disturbing...then they came to bang on the door..."open up, open up you need to move out of this room..." we were not sure why or who made a mistake...they put us into a room by the elevator where we heard the elevator bell whenever someone set foot on that floor..."well, paid for the cheapest room"...that's what we got at this hotel. Never, Never stay at this hotel. It sits in a really sketchy neighborhood and the people who live in it hang around the hotel. The room was not clean. The bathroom floor had not been swept or mopped. The worst part of it all were the beds. The mattresses were so hard that it felt like we were actually laying on the box springs. You could actually feel […] the springs when you touched them. The rooms do not look at all like the pictures. This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It was not at all worth the price. "Worst Customer Service Ever"
At the beginning of our stay we thought everything was pretty good until we wake up in the morning with a small bug (I think a pincher bug also known as a earwig) under our sheets. We must have killed it because blood was on the sheets. We call down to the front desk and have them come up and get us another pair of sheets, 45 minutes later. So hotel […] staff come up take the sheets and leave. We were leaving to go to SeaWorld, we get back to the room expecting that the room has been replenished and we were just going to relax. We walk into the room with nothing being done at all, I was livid. I call down and to hotel reception to be informed that we have moved you to another room. "Cheap and straight to the point."
We booked this hotel for a weekend in San Diego whilst visiting the San Diego Zoo and SeaWorld. From the get go, the staff were unpleasant and seemed far more interested in talking amongst themselves than providing assistance to customers. The room was clean (though not ready when we arrived), and very basic as was to be expected given the money paid. […] However, the advertised free wi-fi did not work in any area of the hotel except for the lobby. Even then, more than one person in the room could not connect at a time. To even get connected, one would have to leave the room and go into the hallway. The continental breakfast was basic, yet okay, however attempting to serve a couple of hundred people breakfast out of a room made for maybe thirty people is an absolute joke. Our first floor 'balcony' looked directly into the car park which did not lock at night and the noise rom the highway and airport were a constant soundtrack running in the background. Overall, if you want a cheap hotel, near the airport, and are not concerned with sleep or security, this hotel is for you. If you have a family on a budget or require Internet usage for directions etc, try the Holiday Inn down the road. Easily the worst hotel I have stayed at so far whilst in the States.
