During warm weather, crowds pack the waters off Mission Beach and Pacific Beach, two of the most popular stretches of San Diego sand. These laidback locales are known to host the occasional farmer’s market or arts festival. Mission Boulevard connects both beaches and leads north to La Jolla.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Bahia. All members of the staff were friendly and helpful. Chris, the concierge, took the time to suggest other options for restaurants that I was looking for and was spot on. Really enjoyed our stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"What a way to end our vacation!!"
This hotel turned out to be so much more than I assumed it was going to be. We immediately upon arrival got upgraded (free of charge) to one of their newly renovated suites and it was beautiful. Our second floor room looked over the bay and the sitting on the balcony in the morning sun while I drank my coffee was my personal favorite. The pool was a […] nice size and we hung out there quite a bit. The ability to order food and drinks poolside was a plus for sure. Our family took advantage of the tennis courts and bike rentals as well. Bring located only a block from Mission Beach made it easy walking for sightseeing, great food choices and shopping, not to mention one of the best beaches in CA (in my opinion). If you didn't want to walk to Mission, the resort also has it's own beach that is much more private on the bay. We saw a dolphin and jellyfish swimming through there. I heard you can also rent paddle boards, paddle boats and segways, however we didn't take advantage of those. It was such a great hotel, we even extended our stay to just sit at the hotel pool and relax one final day before returning to the rat race. I would definitely recommend!!! "I'd stay again! - Definitely!"
We were surprised at how big our room was! It had a little kitchen in it and a balcony. My 5 year old daughter thought we were in a palace!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right on the water"
The location is great. Next to Mission Beach, on the water. A mile or two from Sea World. They have their own boat they take out on cruises on Thursdays and Saturdays. The only bad thing is their beds. Super uncomfortable. Had a sore back every morning. Overall a good stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location! Parking with a vehicle was horrible though. Room was nice but a little out-dated. We enjoyed the kitchenette....but shop at Ralph's for groceries, not those little markets.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel and convenient to many attractions. Plenty to do on or near the property.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was dated and my room was filthy..... The tub was dirty and there was hair throughout my bed. I had to wait 30 minutes to check in, and then there was no parking available. We had to park and walk 1/4 mile to the tower where our room was. I was a mom traveling alone with two children. I was down in a tower at the end of the facility where […] there were no amenities. I called the front desk to ask for help and they kept putting me on hold for 10 minutes at a time because of checking people in. I had two kids exhausted and scared of the hair in the bed. They were filthy after a day at the zoo and the bathtub was disgustingly dirty with hair and loose debris. It felt like a never ending nightmare. We finally gave up and just went to bed as is. As a mom traveling with my kiddos I guess I needed something more commercial and user friendly. I am not a hotel snob, and usually head to motel 6 on the road. This hotel looked so special online and we were on a 1000 mile from home family vacation. It was a waste of $156.00. It was a really disappointing stay..... :( Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice"
I've stayed many places in and around Mission Beach/PB area. I've stayed here before but never on the side that faced the bay. We were upgraded to a corner room on the 2nd floor that had a nice patio and beautiful view especially in the morning with the sun coming in. There was an extra living room with a nice push-button start fireplace. (I so need […] that for my house!) and an extra television. I had two little kids with me and they just loved it also. "San Diego fam vacation"
The hotel was average stay, our room was a bit dated its due for its make over although for the price we pay for the room would suggest that you get what u pay for so I was not expecting anything that would blow me away. I like point out that the pool area were the arcade room is located has a very unpleasant smell. And why are the shower heads so low? Any […] one who is taller then 4-9" is going to have to duck just to get under the shower head. The location of the resort is probably their biggest thing going for them. "Great Location. Great service."
The complex is older but very clean and well kept. The location could not be any better. Minutes from Sea World, Old Town, downtown and the airport. The beds are only doubles not queens so may be tight for some. Staff very freindly and helpful. Upgraded us to larger room with kitchen without us asking and let us check in at 10 am which really helped […] us out as our rental car was full of luggage. Huge pool and hot tub. "nice accommodations overall"
Rooms are large and well furnished - our only complaint was the wall heater units were EXTREMELY loud. Location was great, pool/hot tub area large and very nice, boat ride was fun (but no heat inside so made for a cold trip), beautiful area. I think this would be more enjoyable place to stay in better weather, though I have to assume the air conditioning […] unit is equally loud as the heater... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Enjoyed our stay"
We had a wonderful time staying at the Bahia Resort this past weekend. Came to San Diego for a family wedding. Staying at the Bahia was enjoyable. The staff at check-in time was very accommodating and helpful. The second day that we were there was very cold and windy and in fact our room was terribly drafty. Called the front desk and they sent maintenance […] up and they took care of the repairs while we waited. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient location"
We did not get the room that we had reserved. Our room was smaller with only one queen bed and one sofa sleeper. Not at all comfortable for the four of us. Great pool/hot tub area. Hotel is convenient, only 2 blocks to the beach and Belmont Park. Not many restaurants in walking distance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great spot, great deal for a family"
This location was amazing! Surrounded by beach, bay, park and even an old California amusement park. Hotel was outdated, but had everything a family would want. I purchased a standard two full size beds and we got two very large rooms (bedroom and sitting area with couch, table, microwave and fridge). The room service was tasty, the pool was clean with […] a 3 feet deep area for kids, and the duck pond was cool. We have 3 energized kids and I'm always afraid we will disturb other vacationers, but I never heard anyone else so I assume they didn't hear us. My wife thought I was crazy because I already tried to book our trip for next year. Only downside is you cannot check in until 4pm, but the friendly staff gave us a key for the pool area and texted us when the room was ready. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful time"
We stayed at the Bahia hotel for few days and we had a nice time. The location was close to attractions and restaurants. Staff was friendly and the room was spacious. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the balcony in the room. My daughter enjoyed visiting the seals and feeding the ducks. We definitely recommend this hotel and we cannot wait […] to go back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, a little old and noisy"
The room size was good. The kitchen was small but to be expected, not much work space but it worked. Room was clean, the carpet was old but it was ok. The only real complaint is that they have banquet rooms on the 5th floor of this building and it was during December. Friday and Saturday nights they had Christmas parties and we went to bed around 9 […] and 10 pm and you could hear the base through the walls. My husband had problems sleeping and had to wear earplugs. I think if you were visiting during any other month it would be fine. Right next to Mission Bay, the beach and sidewalk surrounding the bay. We got a great deal on the room, so I would stay there again if we could get the same price. So close to Sea World. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Love this place!"
We honeymooned here 15 years ago and brought the kids back for a quick family getaway. They had a ball at the pool, and on the evening cruise, while eating their weight iPad the breakfast buffet. Reasonably priced and so convenient, we'll be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We enjoyed the ambiance of the area. It is great for walking and jogging. The room itself had a musty odor especially the couch. There was a leak in the room which probably contributed to the smell. Everything else about the room was very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Family San Diego trip"
It was a great hotel. My kids loved being there and it was a comfortable hotel. I loved the fact that they have their own private part of the bay. Next time I will bring my fishing poles. Loved the hotel and will be back again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Service was excellent. Transportation provided by Ray was economical and professional. He went out of his way to be of service to my family. He is an asset to the Bahia Resort. Meals were great. Pool area was comfortable and clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fun Hotel"
Hoel was nice. Enjoyed the stay very much. The area around the hotel was not very good. But the Hotel has plenty to do, so you o't need to venture out. And if you do venture they have a boat that will take you to there sister hotel in Pacific Beach where you can some some time at the Spa or even venture out in Pacific Beach.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Musty Motel, Not The Vacation Resort We Thought"
We were so disappointed. I can't imagine how this hotel achieves a 3 1/2 star rating. It is really a motel, with all the rooms surrounding the parking lot; don't be fooled by the "garden view" room, as it is really a parking lot view. The pool, though surrounded by a wall, is also in the middle of the parking lot. The hallways of the larger building […] we were in smelled very musty. We had a room with a kitchen, and the kitchen was very old and outdated. The broiler door fell off the oven when I opened it to cook. Some of the furniture in the room looked like it had been recently updated, but the couches, chairs and table were well worn, as was the TV, which only got 6 channels. There is no business center, there is just a small room behind the concierge desk with one computer terminal where you can print out your boarding pass, etc. We never found the seal pond. Thankfully, the location is convenient to SeaWorld and other sights -- we changed our plans once we arrived and went to SeaWorld and the beach on Coronado Island and only came back to the hotel to sleep. "Pictures look better than in person"
The location was perfect, especially our room which was right along the bay. However for the money it cost per night we expected a more upgraded room, the room is definitely outdated.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice place but not a "resort""
the room we had faced the water which was nice. the "beach" is overstated....it's not very good....sand is mixed with hard pack soil and the water is mucky so kids were disappointed...we ended up going to the ocean nearby. there is a public parking lot on the east side of the complex which we overlooked and it was noisy and busy...so sitting on the […] deck is not exactly relaxing....price however was reasonable....and location to SeaWorld is good... "Bay view is a must."
Very nice rooms, walking distance to beaches. Upgraded to Bay view after first two nights, made all the difference in the world. Only ate breakfast at the resort and it was good.
