"Great shuttle service but keys don't work to rooms"
Arriving at 2 a.m. from a delayed flight you expect to go straight to your room and get to bed. Well, 5 roomkeys and 3 different rooms later we were finally able to. The evening front desk service was terrible and did not seem to care that our keys to our rooms were not working. The security guard was wonderful and very helpful though. Be careful because […] they don't seem to know who is in what room and we walked in on someone sleeping!! The landscape is beautiful however and the shuttle takes you to many great tourist spots and if its not where your wanting to get to, they can drop you off at the bus. the lightrail/trolly is walking distance and so is the mall. Kindof far from the beaches but easy to get to by bus/shuttle. Only downside is if you buy nights online, they cannot reimburse you for the inconvenince of not getting in your room but were very kind in giving us $100 worth of breakfast (equivilent of 2 breakfasts at their restaraunt for the 3 of us). The rooms are clean and the landscaping is once again, beautiful. Overall a great hotel, just unfortunate service when trying to get into the right room. I liked that the hotel was in the middle of everything zoo. restaurants and downtown san diego. Stayed here for one week. We decided to stay here only to save a little money so we could spend it on other attractions. If your looking for a spacious hotel room, I would strongly recommend going somewhere else. The rooms are tiny and as I had 3 other people with me we barely had room to move around. The beds are small, very hard for 2 people to sleep on. The bathroom is as […] well tiny, only move to use the toilet or shower, very hard to get dressed in. The refrigerator outlet was broken so we had to move the minifridge to another spot in the room, I thought we were suppose to have a microwave, but I guess not. I have stayed here a few times. Though it is not ultimate luxury by any means, it is comfortable enough for a good stay in the SD area. "A Shudder Inducing Experience."
I found my experience at the Best Western to be far from the best. Although the hotel is still standing, one gets the feeling that it has seen better days----now as it sits, festering in its faded glory, I found the room smelled from being closed up in the heat with no air circulation, the temperature knob on the air conditioner was broken so there […] was absolutely no temperature control, and there was hair on the pillows that was not my own. Needless to say, this particular establishment did not score high on my cleanliness or quality scale. "Convenient and relatively inexpensive"

Pros: very well located, reasonably quiet, good room comfort, pools open late, nice staff. Was a good hotel as one would expect from one in hotel circle. Fairly cheap for the area and got on the same day we were staying. Only con was the faucet had to be just perfect to be turned off. The hotel was clean and well maintained. It was nice that the spa was open all night. There was no WI-FI as advertised. We were lied to by the hotel staff 3 times about fixing it and adjusting our bill. We left numerous messages with the supervisor the next day and were never contacted. Excellent choice for a budget rate. Near eveything, clean, comfortable Some might find it is on the smallish size, but we are never there very long since there are so many things to do in San Diego..I will go back to Seven Seas on my next S.D. trip. "Decent Hotel"

"Convenient, affordable, and nice"
I've stayed here about 4 different times in the past 3 years now. Here is a summary of what I think: The Good: +Always had friendly service and the roomkeepers never bother you, even if you forget to hang the DND sign on the door. +Location (Hotel Circle area) is really convenient as it's central to all points in SD and even has two of the nicest malls […] in SD right there across from the fwy. +The rooms are comfortable and relatively clean...it's a Best Western, so don't expect higher than a 2.5 - 3 star quality room. +They provided plenty of towels...not stingy like some other 2 star hotels. +Fridge in each room +Prices are usually very good for SD. The Bad: -The beds were overall comfortable, but something was a bit itchy sometimes...maybe dust, lint, bugs(?), or my imagination. -If you get a room next to a family with kids, the noise level can get bad in the morning if they run around. But this is probably true with most hotels/motels. -Even though the hotel is right next to the freeway, finding the 163 or 8 east can be tricky. But this is not the hotel's fault. The Best Western Seven Seas is a conveniently located, very comfortable, modestly priced motel with a very friendly and helpful staff. It is located right off Friars Road and just a mile or so from California 163 that puts you just about 15 minutes frrom downtown San Diego.
