"Great for the price, good location"
Pretty good for the price. Clean room with microwave and fridge. Stayed 3 nights and the only complaint was the bathtub was not cleaned during our stay and the bath tub faucet was raggedy and hard to turn on.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice stay for a wedding on the beach."
Clean room, close to the event. No problems checking in or out.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel room was clean and updated however the walls were very thin. It would be best to stay on the top floor. Continental breakfast service was friendly and efficient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"you get what you pay for"
To be honest, the room / hotel was decent for the money. The blankets on the bed aren't polyester which is a big bonus in my book. There was free wifi and free parking - which is also a bonus. But I know a lot of people would be aghast to hear there were hairs (definitely not mine) in several places throughout the room. There was also a dirty plastic […] cup left on the bathroom counter. If someone is looking to spend less on a room, I'd recommend this place to them. But if they have a few extra dollars - I'd tell them to stay somewhere else. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Clean and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Decent stay for 2 nights. Desk staff courteous and professional. Guests seemed to be mostly young people who partied on the stairs all hours of the AM but rooms seemed to be insulated for noise. Grouchy maid finally came to clean room at 5 PM. Will try Holiday Inn Express across the street next time.Genuine Expedia guest review
We arrived around 2 in the morning so we were tired and ready to sleep. The man at the front desk was great and very helpful in getting us set up. He saw how tired we must have looked and kept reassuring us that he would do everything quickly so we could get some rest. Very nice man, especially so early I the morning!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice & decently priced hotel near San Diego"
My roommates & I needed a hotel for a weekend trip and this was probably the most affordable hotel we could find on short notice. The hotel is conveniently located near the freeway and only about 15 minutes from downtown San Diego. Pacific Beach is only about a ten minute drive from the hotel. The room was a bit small but was quite clean when we got […] there. The room was comfy enough. The bathroom was okay--really small and needed more ventillation. Plus, there's parking on the site, which is nice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"i'd stay there again"
when we got there we had to wait about ten minutes for the desk clerk to come back and unlock the door so we could check in, she was nice, but then she told us we couldn't park our other car in their lot. room was ok, everything worked. not much to complain about.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Too pricey for location"
Was overpriced for value. Located next to a car dealership. Rooms were refurbished and clean. Complimentary breakfast was nice. Would opt to stay elsewhere in future.Genuine Expedia guest review
I haven't stayed in a hotel that bad in many years. The bathroom was dirty, the air conditioning was loud and leaking water on the walkways, the rooms were way smaller than the pictures let on. There was almost nothing redeeming about this hotel. We paid about twice as much as I would have expected for the actual quality of the room -- even if I factor […] in the location was pretty good. But the good location was even tainted by insufficient parking available and car dealerships all around making it seem less attractive even though it was a short walk to Mission Bay. "OK but not great"
First off, tiny room. We didn't even have space for a tiny pack-and-play for our infant. I mean, we are talking small. The staff was friendly, and that was about the only good. Our sheet had stains on them, they didn't change them out while we stayed there. Black hair on the bed and bathroom floors, toilet seat wasn't attached properly. I would not […] recommend this place. "Decent hotel close to the beach"
It was a nice basic hotel. Would of enjoyed a work out room and or pool area. The breakfast area was very small. Decent hotel for good priceGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel that was a reasonable distance to PB"
Hotel was clean and the works are very friendly. The breakfast was a very nice touch and stayed available till 10 so no need to get up early. Parking was limited at night so that could be improved on.Genuine Expedia guest review
-no parking, i had to park in front of the street -strong smell of alcohol on the first floor, apparently people spillled beer and smelled bad -bad attitude of the person attending at nightGenuine Expedia guest review
A decent place, could be a bit difficult to find and access due to traffic. room was small but very functional. Would stay again if in the area.Genuine Expedia guest review
The first room we were given had a bug or flea of some sort on the pillow. Ugh.Genuine Expedia guest review
"$210 for a Red Roof Inn?!"
Very uncomfortable bed and pillows. Internet pictures definitely made room about twice as big as it actually was. Can't believe I spent that much for a Red Roof Inn.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to everything"

"Not bad but depends on the cost"
the night clerk was awesome, helpful, polite, made me feel welcome. The room had modern furniture and they packed a lot into a small space, (good) such as a fridge, microwave, an ironing board, and iron, the TV was modern, even the soap had a nice scent. My only hesitation was the value, at that cost I would have expected more of a hotel which is to […] say it is a decent place just the cost seemed high for what you get. Also parking was a real challenge. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is very small, and not very clean. The sheets smelled bad, as did the towels. There was hair in the bathroom on the floor and in the tub. The room didn't smell very pleasant. The staff there is very nice but I would not stay here again. Parking is also horrible.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is pet friendly and at the good location for me. Close to the Pacific Beach and Mission Bay, about 10 minutes drive to the big Japanese stores on Mercury Street, and famous "Sushi Ota" is in the next building! There is a golf course nearby also. Hotel itself is old and our two queen bed room was small like everybody mentioned on their review. […] If you don't bring pets you'd better stay on the top floor because you'll hear noise above you very much. Hotel staff was great, especially Priscilla (I believe) at the breakfast room was very helpful and delighted our day. It's an ok hotel for a short stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Clean, but very small."
The hotel room was very clean, but small. It aslo allows business to slip there flyers in the door, it's creepy. It made me feel uncomfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was ok. The room was very small, but a good value for Pacific Beach. Since we only stayed for one night the small room was acceptable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It's a motel"
not really much to say other than you get what you pay for...which isn't muchGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Okay for a night"
The rooms are extremely small. You really have be creative in storing luggage and such. The Queen bedroom left you with enough room to maneuver around the bed to get to the bathroom. It has a fridge and microwave, but the microwave is on the bottom shelf of the TV stand so you literally have to get on your hands and knees to operate it. No amenities […] were offered after the first night stay. The beds are extremely soft! I have a bad back and was struggling to walk the following morning. I slept on the chair for the desk part of the night. Not fun. The young lady at the front desk was very sweet and pleasant. She provided us with good information and directions. She was eager to be of service. We did not have the breakfast while there so I cannot comment on that. The location of the hotel is very convenient to Sea World, the beaches and downtown. The neighborhood is a bit intimidating. Very industrial looking, surrounded by car dealerships, but I never felt unsafe at the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not what it seems; terrible."
This was a terrible stay. The pic online for a Queen Suite showed an average sized room, but when we opened our door the room was so small!! There was about two feet of space all the way around the queen bed. My husband and I had to squish into the corner so the other one could walk by them to get to the bathroom! Also i have never slept in a more UNCOMFORTABLE […] bed! Hard, lumpy mattress and pillows and very itchy linens. Im not a picky sleeper but this was so bad i didn't sleep all night and by back hurt so bad the next day! It was clean and the one girl i saw on staff were nice though. Response by Red Roof Inn San Diego - Pacific Beach/SeaWorld Area Thank you for your feedback. We recently underwent a complete renovation that included all new upgraded beds and mattresses. It is possible that they may be a little firm because they are new. We're sorry to hear that you did not sleep, Thank you for the positive service and cleanliness feedback.
Pictures they have uploaded of the rooms are very deceiving the rooms are TINY! Besides that it was an okay stay but it more of a motel!Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Red Roof Inn San Diego - Pacific Beach/SeaWorld Area We're sorry to hear that you thought the pictures of our rooms were deceiving. We want our guest to know as much about the hotel as possible, and therefore we have uploaded multiple room photo's that show the room amenities and modern conveniences that we offer. All of the photo's are actual photo's of the guestrooms.
Overall it was fine for what we needed, I'd say a 3 to 3.5 rating. I would recommend the place with a few "before you go" notes. Location was very central and great for our trip and the room was clean. However, a few disappointing things --- "Free wifi" did not work and this was quite frustrating.Towels were skimpy and thin and the shampoo they supply […] is not much to mention (no conditioner, by the way). However, the staff was friendly and helpful about the area. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Red Roof Inn San Diego - Pacific Beach/SeaWorld Area Thank you for your feedback. Demand for WiFi service has continued to be very strong, and therefore we completed a system upgrade this week to ensure no further service issues.
"Good for the Essentials"
The hotel provided the essentials - a comfortable place to spend the nights since we were not in our rooms much during the day. The place looks newly renovated and that was nice but the bathroom still was dingy and our ceiling at a giant hole around the light bulb. The rooms are also quite small so not a lot of space to put your things and walk around […] but overall, I recommend this place if you are only expecting the essentials as well as a great location. It is only a mile and a half from downtown PB where all the restaurants and bars are! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Probably wouldn't stay here again"
Our stay here was overall good. The hotel room was a little cramped. The furniture style is nice, more modern. The free breakfast is very simple not a lot of choices (I've stayed at hotels with continental break with many different varieties, this hotel was very to the point, waffles, plain cereal, apple or orange, maybe a muffin if your lucky.) the […] breakfast room is VERY small, a couple tables with really no room to walk when crowded. The worst thing I have to say about this hotel is the parking lot SUCKS!!!!!!!!!! Not enough parking spots for the amount of rooms this hotel has, tiny spaces, numerous cars were taking up 2 spots, the night manager at the front desk, did nothing when told about this issue (you have to give your license plate # and the make & model of your vehicle upon check-in, he should have went to the room and asked them to park correctly but said the was nothing he could do about it but he would go look at it. LIKE THAT WOULD HELP) get there early in the evening or you will not have a spot!!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Red Roof Inn San Diego - Pacific Beach/SeaWorld Area Dear SCMOM, We appreciate your positive comments and I am glad that your stay with us was "good overall." I looked into the matter regarding the parking, and our Night Guest Service Representative noticed that there were still several spaces available for you to be able to park your vehicle, which is why he did not contact the guest that had double parked that night. Our parking is always free and available on a first come, first serve basis. We apologize for any misunderstanding.

This hotel was small but clean and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The customer service is lacking, they don't send you towels when you ask. You have to go down and get them and there is only one person that works at all times. If there are other people, expect to wait for a while. The towels always had a little something on them. Each day we left the room with the sign up, asking for our room to be cleaned. We stayed […] there for 4 days and our room wasn't clean once when we'd get back at night. The air conditioning isn't the best and it's incredibly loud. Our bathroom tub was broken. Imagine stepping into a puddle of cold water every time you shower. Check-in is at 3 pm but I decided to stop by around noon with our party of 3, to see if we could possibly drop our items off. The front receptionist was rude upon our arrival. "Great for an overnight"
Rent is cheap and room is small and crowded but it has all the necessary amenities, and even more than most which includes an ironing board and iron. The furniture and fixtures are comfortable and have a new look. The bath area is exceptionally well appointed. Great for an overnight stay like we used it for, but because of all my comments above we will […] go there for longer stays if needed with our next visit to SanDiego. The closet space is small so come prepared for that. We will try other Red Roof Inns when we visit other cities because of this first experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
