San Diego’s waterfront airport lies northwest of downtown, which is home to the San Diego Convention Center, PetCo Park stadium, and the Gaslamp Quarter’s. That historic neighborhood’s restaurants and bars are the hub of the city’s nightlife. Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo form a green swath in this urban jungle. Offshore, Coronado Island offers postcard views of the city skyline.

I was really surprised by how nice and modern this hotel was. It's an old bank which gives it a vintage vibe but the rooms are very well designed. The staff was incredibly helpful as well. My only complaint would be that valet parking for one night was a little too expensive. Other than that, it was great!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Really unique building."
Upon arriving at the Marriott San Diego we both were very impressed with the building. The location has tons of character and the vault room is pretty impressive. This is now one of our favorite locations i San Diego, we will be back to stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Incredible Hotel and Service!"
I had the best experience ever at a hotel! The quality of the rooms, the historic appeal of the "Living History" museum and the service was outstanding. We took a private tour of the hotel and were just amazed with the history. It's in the center of downtown which also makes it convenient. I highly recommend this to anyone and will definitely be ba […] ck!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel was very nicely decorated with a beautiful lobby and sleek modern rooms. The only isse we had when we first arrived was trying to find the check in counter! Due to some construction occurring in the lobby the check in counter was in the back through a door where the elevators were so it was difficult for us to find. A suggestion would be […] to maybe put a sign up that says "check in this way" with arrows leading the guests to the check in counter. Other than that the hotel was very clean, great service, and located in the middle of all the gaslamp/downtown action, but still quiet in the rooms which was exactly what we were looking for! "Beautiful Hotel"
The interior of this hotel is grandiose and beautiful, I was immediately impressed upon entering. The customer service was spectacular and the hotel room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The only hiccup we had during my stay was when ordering movies, one of the movies started somewhere in the middle and I was unable to rewind. Upon consulting the […] staff, they said I simply had to wait for it to play through and then re-order. Unfortunately, I also could not fast forward. The location of the hotel is right in the Gas Lamp Quarter with easy and quick access to many restaurants, bars, as well as must see sights. I would gladly stay at this hotel again. "NICE HOTEL BUT NOT NICE SERVICE."
ITS A GREAT LOCATION IN DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO. WALKING DISTANCE FROM PETCO PARK AND THE HARD ROCK HOTEL. IT HAS A NICE LAYOUT TOO BAD THE SERVICE DOESN'T LIVE UP TO EXPECTATIONS. IVE STAYED AT MANY LOCATIONS AND NEVER COMPLAIN ABOUT MY STAYS BUT THIS WAY REALLY BAD. I ASKED FOR NEW TOWELS SINCE THERE WAS BLOOD STAINS ON THE ONES IN THE BATHROOM AND THEY […] NEVER BROUGHT ANY. I HAD TO GO DOWNSTAIRS TO GET THEM. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location, Valet Overpriced"
Great location, valet service is pricey. No self parking available. The curbside valet drop-off location is awkward as there are one way streets and the only place to drop the car off is located on 6th Street in the southern direction. Took a couple trips around the block in a circle to actually have space to temporarily park. As there are other businesses […] surrounding the hotel. Overall satisfied with our stay. Hotel bar has happy hour =). Stay for breakfast/buffet is convenient and available until 11:30am on Sundays (unknown during the week as our stay was Saturday night only) which is nice when you've been up all night and can't wake up early. I would recommend this hotel to anyone not needing a pool during their stay and someone that wants a great location without breaking the bank. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Historic building"
We enjoyed staying at this hotel because it was close to everything an it had a lot of history to itGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Trolley"
We came to San Diego from Orange County on the train. Hotel was about 10 blocks from the train depot. Convenient walk from there to the hotel. The trolley ran on the street right behind the hotel, very convenient to get around town.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect for San Diego Sightseeing"
Stunning building, we liked very much the "old bank" feeling and look. Very centrally located, can walk to harbour, USS Midway and of course gaslamp quarter! Unfortunately Room didn't have a view (but some others should have) and the window couldn't be opened. Very good breakfast and service. Can be highly recommended for a city trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"GREAT value and location"
My husband and I loved this hotel - couldn't beat location right near the gas lamp district. Rooms were HUGE! Beds comfy, staff helpful and lovely, breakfast (extra) quite good - including an omelette station! Oh and the building (an old bank) is beautiful! Adds that something different! Would recommend this hotel in a second (especially if you get […] a good rate as we did!!) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Courtyard Gas Lamp District in San Diego"
This is a clean and well maintained hotel. The only problem is parking. There is no parking on the hotel grounds and the valet parking is $33.00 per night. If you choose you can self park two blocks away for $15.00 per night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"weird and creepy"
weird noise coming from some big cooler type machines outsde our window so loud i couldnt sleepGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent"
Perfect hotel, beautiful old building (without that old building fausty smell). Absolutely lovely, large room, and a beautiful view of the water. Only complaint--and nothing to do with the hotel whatsoever--is parking in downtown San Diego is horrendous. Be prepared for that.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Customer Service"
The hotel staff was excellent. Very friendly and knowledgable about the area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Historic but scary at times"
The Hotel was great clean, staff was nice and professional. The homeless people were nasty and right outside the valet door at times. Gaslamp was ok except for the smell of pot in the air as we walked to the Padres game. Valet at 30 a night was not a great price but the text to get your car was nice. Overall nice central location for the city, we were […] able to park our car and walk everywhere we wanted to go in the city. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel & stay"
Finding the hotel was a bit of a chore (since the sign for it is actually on 6th street side of the building, but after doing one circle around, we found it and go ourselves situated. The rooms themselves are nice. Yes, you aren't going to find any fancy view when you look out the window but really, who goes to such a place to spend time viewing out […] a window instead of actually getting out and doing things? The beds are comfy, the bathroom nicely situated and the overall experience was great. In addition, the hotel itself is nicely situated near most of the nightlife and restaurants in the area.
