Occupying a former bank, Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Downtown-Gaslamp makes good use of the building's historical elements, using old vaults as meeting rooms and retaining the original 47,000 pound vault door and stenciling on the three-story-high ceilings. Guests have complimentary wireless Internet access in the lobby, and a computer station and Internet point are also available. The hotel's Californian restaurant serves breakfast and lunch, while the bar has a happy hour, and a cafe and snack bar can also be found on site. Great hotel but didn't know self parking really isn't available. $33 a day for Marriott valet was an unexpected expense. The fee is probably listed someplace on the hotel ad or internet but I didn't see it. Anyway the hotel room was very nice, we got the water facing room and it had tall ceilings, the AC was very quiet and the view was real nice.
