San Diego’s waterfront airport lies northwest of downtown, which is home to the San Diego Convention Center, PetCo Park stadium, and the Gaslamp Quarter’s. That historic neighborhood’s restaurants and bars are the hub of the city’s nightlife. Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo form a green swath in this urban jungle. Offshore, Coronado Island offers postcard views of the city skyline.

"Great hotel for the price."
Good location and right by seaport village to eat at as well as right on the harbor for us to take a morning run and walk. The rooms looked completely renovated and very modern. Highly recommended as well as about a 7-8 block walk to the gaslamp district.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Manchester Grand Hyatt"
The Manchester Grand Hyatt is in a great location. Our room was newly decorated and also had a great view. My only complaint was the cleanliness of our room and the pool/hot tub areas. We went down to the hot tub early one morning for a dip and the tub was so dirty and full of debris we didn't dare get it. Also, there were used towels and trash surrounding […] the hot tub and pool from the night before everywhere. A bit disappointing. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We stayed here Easter weekend & it was absolutely lovely. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms with a premium view in the harbor tower. The view was gorgeous, beds comfy & bathroom was beautiful! Only disavtange, the parking garage only has 2 elevators so if you're checking out on a Sunday, it's really busy. "Great one night stay"
My kids and I went to San Diego for Springbreak and found an awesome deal that we could not pass on when it came to staying at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. After a long day at the San Diego Zoo, we went to check in. The staff was very nice and the check in was very easy and fast. Our room was on the 19th floor. It was very nice. You can see and smell […] that the room was freshly remodeled. The view from our room was great. The beds were very comfortable. The Gaslamp District is near, so the location is great for exploring downtow SD. In the future, I will definitely stay here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"7 days on the San Diego Waterfront"
I was here for a conference and I love this location. The conference hotel was nearby but an easy walk as is the convention center. I would go for an early morning run on the Boardwalk and adjacent small island loop. Great views of Coronado Island and Point Loma. The Hyatt is an easy run form the airport and walking distance to the Gaslight district […] with some nice restaurants. My room had a great view was very comfortable and had some nice seating area. No tub but that did not bother my but it may others. Breakfast buffet was included with my Hotels.com package and it was always fresh and the staff was freindly. Nice fitness center with plenty of machines. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice view."
Great hotel, though the neighborhood surrounding it is a little sterile filled with apartments and other hotels. Walk up to Hodads for a burger and some local flavor. Nice view from the gym watching boats in the harbor go back and forth made working out easier!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Horrid Hyatt"
The worst hotel visit I have ever had. From the get go it was one thing after another. They are disoraginzed and not customer oriented. I will NEVER visit this hotel again not even for lunch! Their Movies on Demand look like they downloadded some pirated version off the web and the room service food was TERRIBLE hashbrowns so cold they were stuck together. […] Do yourself a favor and stay away!!!!!! I got very sick while I was there and instead of allowing me to extend my stay they threatened me by saying they will tresspass me and call the police, unbelievable!! "Outstanding"
I would have to say, I've stayed at many many wonderful 4-5 star hotels, but I have never come across such amazing, generous, wonderful and welcoming staff. I came with a group of my girls and they made our stay beyond comfortable and perfect! Sure to come back! Not to mention, the rooms are extremely large, clean, and beautiful. All in all 10/10!! "NICE HOTEL."
The stay was not the problem, very good hotel. We had paid extra $20 for the breakfast to be included and when we went there they told us that it is included for only 2 people and the price for the other two was $24.99 EACH. For that price you would expect a very elegant, broad choice breakfast menu, which wasn't there also. The first time I have encountered […] this, so we all just went out for breakfast to Richard Walker, 2-3 blocks from there, which was about $50 for the four of us. "Great hotel but lacking in service"
I stayed for a business conference at the convention center which is conveniently located a couple of blocks away. The room was great and clean and the facilities are very nice at this hotel. However, the service was definitely lacking. We had to get new key cards for our room on 4 separate occasions due to a malfunctioning door. This is more of an […] annoyance than anything but it did take over an hour of my time and I really would have expected some type of discount or any offering to make up for the hassle involved. Nothing was offered but an apology. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We had a beautiful room with a sweeping view. Great service. Modern with old world charm--the best of both worlds.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay"
Great place to stay, excellent staff throughout the property, cannot say enough about the staff. Their attention to detail, warmth and congeniality rival "higher end" properties. Tip them well. They deserve it. Shout out to Joel (valet / concierge) and the staff in all the bars:). Will be back. Paid for a premier view - not bad - overlooking the bay […] and the air craft carrier. However, also directly in front of my line of sight is an UGLY construction site that detracts from an otherwise pleasant view. Management should not be trying to sell these rooms as premier views especially with ongoing construction. Maybe work with the construction team across the road to coverop their work with awnings / netting that would mitigate this? Just a suggestion. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beware of the 'upgrade'"
I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights in July. At checkin, I was offered an 'upgrade' to a large suite for free, with the caveat that the bed would be a Murphy bed, and I accepted it. Big mistake! The room was probably used by businesses for daytime meetings, so there was no soundproofing whatsoever. I could hear every footstep and every opened/shut door […] in the rooms around me, as well as the footsteps of guests on the upper floor, all night long! The next morning, I discovered after I emerged from the shower that there were no bath towels in my room. Two nights after that, the shower didn't make hot water (I showered at the same time every morning, and it was fine on all other days -- also, the sink had hot water, but not the shower!) The Murphy bed turned out to be no problem at all -- it was also extremely comfortable, but my sleep was disturbed by all the footsteps, talk, and banging doors in the rooms opposite, to the side, and upstairs! The large flat-panel TV was of very good quality. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not a four-star hotel"
The bathroom lacked any ventilation--not even an exhaust fan. The shower lacked any illumination. Some floor tiles were chipped and the grout was worn and darkened. Insufficient staffing of the main desk and concierge station meant always waiting on line (sometime for more than 10 minutes) to check-in or get a question answered. Paid internet service […] was always remarkably slow (reminded me of dial-up). Business center charges $10 per package received on you behalf. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A very classy place"

It was the worst experience of my life. The charges for food were exhorbitant and the service and understanding of the staff sucked. The hotel charged $26 for parking a rental car! They were obnoxious with their demeaning response when I complained about the horrific fee they charge to park. They were the worst staff and hotel I have ever stayed around […] the world. Response by Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego We greatly appreciate your constructive comments and on behalf of the hotel, I do apologize for your recent experience. Although we do find our parking rates competitive with neighboring parking lots in the downtown San Diego area, we do offer a "Park and Surf" package that includes self-parking with your room.
