A bayside infinity pool offers views of the hotel's private marina, while a seasonal tropical pool includes a game area. Spa tubs are adjacent to both pools. The Blue Pearl Casual Eatery, serves complete cooked breakfast every morning 6:30 AM-11:30 AM, and lunch and dinner, with a menu for children. Dining options also include the Firefly Restaurant and Bar with pool views, offering lunch and dinner and also providing a children's menu. Wireless Internet access (complimentary) is available throughout the hotel. Outdoor parking is available on site (surcharge). A roundtrip airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
Guestrooms are located in 2 areas: Water's Edge and Marina Cove. Water's Edge rooms include bay-view balconies and sofa beds. Marina Cove rooms have marina, pool, or courtyard views, or non-views. All guestrooms feature complimentary wireless Internet access, high-definition televisions with satellite service, HBO, and pay movies. All guestrooms are non-smoking.

During warm weather, crowds pack the waters off Mission Beach and Pacific Beach, two of the most popular stretches of San Diego sand. These laidback locales are known to host the occasional farmer’s market or arts festival. Mission Boulevard connects both beaches and leads north to La Jolla.

Although you see the amazing photographs of the picturesque location, the actual hotel doesn't turn out to be that great. We quickly regretted going through the trouble of adding an addt'l day. Yes, we went through trouble trying to convince the Dana to add an addt'l night prior to our arrival. After their refusal of letting us stay in the same room […] because we had booked through hotels.com I called hotels.com and they were super helpful and nice!!! (They arranged everything for us!) That should have been our first clue that the place wouldn't be as great as it looked! After a long drive, as soon as we got to the room we jumped onto the bed to watch some tv with our toddler. The tv did not work, even after it was serviced by personnel. The pillows were extremely firm and too high. We requested softer pillows which we've never had to do in any of our hotel stays elsewhere since there is always a variety. We were told that our room selection did not provide soft pillows!!! We've stayed at many different hotels ranging from 2-5 stars and NEVER had we ever been so disappointed! It has by far, been the most uncomfortable stay ever! We couldn't sleep!!! "Extremely Filthy Rooms!"
This hotel was the worse Ive ever been to when it comes to sanitation. There was hair all over the floor in the bathroom. The coffee inserts were tampered with. The bed had stains and also long hairs and short curly hairs in the sheets!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

My AC was broken the first night so I call the front desk in the morning. They said that it would be handled and after a fun day at sea world I returned to a boiling hot room. "small dirty motel-like rooms"
We payed more for the 1 king bed marina view bed and breakfast package and upon arrival, was given a courtyard view room with 2 queens and we also found out the breakfast portion was only $10 worth of credit per morning per room. Really? That's how a 3.5 stars establishment does business? After complaining and producing a copy of our reservation, we […] then got a marina view room but apparently king beds are still non-existent. Upon entering our room, we realized that it didn't matter what view we had anyways. The room was setup like a typical motel where the windows of the room are right next to the entrance door. Right in front of the doors and windows are of course the long corridor that leads to the entire row of rooms. So unless you want everyone walking by to look into your room, you wouldn't keep the shutters open to enjoy your upgraded "view". The moment we entered the room, we were also extremely dissapointed by the really old, dated, small, cramped, dirty, motel like room. As far as the definition of small, there were 2 queen beds with a night stand in between and there were about 5 inches of room between the side of the bed and the wall. There were also 2 single chairs and a round table in between but one of the chairs has to sit partially in the walkway. Once you open the little closet doors you also block the entire walkway to the sink/bathroom. Moving on, there was actually a very nice looking flat screen TV, but both nights we were there, there was no signal to the HD channels and most of the channels especially the major networks were only available in HD. So basically no TV. Another thing that didn't work were the lights. The lights are motion detectors that would turn off while we were moving around the room and both the plastic covers over the motion detectors were broken or melted. This hotel is over-priced! The grounds are pretty, and the rooms are okay as long as you are on the new area of the hotel. The old area, which is the most likely area you will end up is HORRIBLE. They charged people who paid for their rooms a EXTRA $20.00 a day for parking in THIER OWN parking lot, i thought parking would be free to paying customers but not here, expedias literature on the motel room never said anything about a "PARKING FEE", their cable or whatever kind of tv it was BAD all we got was PPV channels to make more money for the […] motel. We would leave out early and come back about 4pm to get cleaned up for that nights activities and they still hadnt cleaned the room so we went 2 days without the room being cleaned. Loud drunken wedding party of 20+ until 3 am, and then picked up again at 6 am....phone did not work...so could not call front desk, but you could hear it from 50 yards away so why did they not stop it ?..... .....room smelled very bad from day one, there must have been some kind of accident on the carpet and they tried to hide it with lots of perfume […] or anticeptic........ they set up a smoking table for guests under our balcony, so we could not open the sliding glass door to the bay. I think that for the price of the rooms they would have been in better condition. The roooms were in need of upgrading very much. A/C not working and they had poor service when needed. We were very disappointed with the condition of this "motel". The outside balcony (the access to upper rooms) was in very poor condition,seemed run down. the carpet was old. Das Hotel liegt in direkter Naehe zu Sea-World, welches sowohl mit Hotel-Shuttle oder zu Fuss in wenigen Minuten […] erreichbar ist. Die I-8 liegt ebenfalls vor der Haustuer und verbindet das Hotel mit allen wichtigen Punkten in SD und Umgebung, SD Zoo, La Jolla, SD Downtown, Gaslamp-Q. etc. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer ist gut (Flachbildfernseher, Microwelle, Kaffeemaschine+Kaffee, Foehn, Radio/MP3-Station), und vor allem die Sauberkeit ist ueberaus positiv. Einzig negativ fallen die duenen Waende auf, die einen schon mal am Treiben der benachbarten Hotelgaeste teilhaben lassen, ob man will oder nicht. Aber dafuer zahlt man halt auch nicht viel mehr, als in fast jedem x-beliebigen Highway-Motel, uebernachtet dabei aber in einem grossen, geraeumigen, und sehr sauberen Zimmer mit grossartiger Lage.
