"Doubletree Hotel Circle"
after I took 3 weeks just browsing online with reviews. Requested, (1) roll in shower, ( I put down on request, Hotels.com never attached to my reservation. (2) requested 2 Queens NON Smoking.(3) lower floor. I DISLIKED the fact that my card was charged, REGARDLESS, $16 a day(which we stayed 3 nights) for freaking handicapped parking and we didn't even […] use the garage, our tire had a slow leak, hotel staff didn't know a close enough location, were from VEGAS, and thankfully my GPS mobile device got us around.,We needed a transfer bench and it was as old and outdated with all the fees they make it should be bolted into the wall not the Tub! tub was dripping out alot of water, And floor looked like it has not been cleaned in over a week or 2.Housekeeping didn't do a good job, We decided to leave our dirty towels out side door area,(Whatch out the room door slams LOUD!) We got our own towels. Loved the fact Cali has passed the new ADA law requiring hotels to be compliant with chair lifts for pools/spas, hubby liked every bit, and even wore him & kids out. We found the hotel property in very good condition--neat and clean. The family suite with an adjoining King room was a real winner for our family of 7. "close to Sea World"
There are two complaints. One is the parking, good thing we brought are small car to get around the parking area. We would had problems if we brought our van. Two the air conditioner was not working good even tho it was cool outside the room was stuffy and we turned the air on but did not get cool inside it had a smell when we turned it on. The sink in the bathroom backup. I told them about it everyday. Finally, they sent someone to look at it and he said that it was ok. I went in the bathroom and ran the water and the sink backed up. First, the parking is an overpriced nightmare!! They charge $18 to park but, we couldn't even get our standard F150 around the parking garage! They have oversized vehicle parking behind the parking structure but, it's only about 15 spots that aren't monitored because there were small cars in there as well. "Family Friendly"
Stayed in room with bunk beds for kids. Was perfect for our family trip to Sea World. No microwave in room, so don't bother bringing leftovers from dinner back to the room for a next -day snack. The fridge was small but did the job of holding water, juices, and soda. We were given a cookie for each person at check-in. There was a small wedding going […] on the first night we stayed, but the hotel must have a cut-off time for the music, because by 10pm the crowd and noise were gone. The air conditioning seemed to only cool the adjacent room with the bunk beds and not the room with the queen beds, but the weather outside was nice enough to open the balcony window allowing the air to circulate in the room. The family enjoyed the stay and we will most likely stay there the next time we visit that area. Yes, there is a $16 a night parking fee...but isn't that the norm these days for hotels near major theme parks? Free Wi-Fi was a plus. "Central Location"
My husband and I stayed in a King room at this hotel while my sister and my mother stayed in a 2 - Queen room. Our king room was immaculately clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The only downside is that the down pillows flatten too much and my neck hurt. The hotel does have memory foam hotels if you ask for them (I found out this later). […] My sister and my mother's room was not as nice as ours. The sofa in their room was torn up, it looked awful and made it so the arm rests were uncomfortable. Their sink backed up twice, and the in-room coffee maker didn't work. I guess the condition of your room depends on what room you get. We went swimming all three days we were there. The pool is heated to a pleasant 86 degrees F. We had breakfast at the hotel at the buffet before we left. The service is lacking in there. They state they have omelets made to order, but good luck getting one. $13.95 for a breakfast buffet with service that is lacking is just too much. "Wonderful family vacation"
Our family enjoyed the 2 bedrooms and especially the bunkbed! The hotel location was very central for our needs. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub at night! Rooms were clean, the hotel's location is really convenient, and overall a good place to stay. There's also plenty of parking at the parking garage but the ramps are extremely narrow. The heated pool and hot tub was great and close to our room. The next time we're in the area, we'll probably stay here again. "Great location"
This hotel is really very nice, clean, and comfortable. The best thing about our stay was the convenience of the location. The downside was that the internet connection is HORRIBLE and we were unable to connect to the WiFi. We were on the sixth floor, and the signal was so weak. Even in the lobby the signal was not that great. This was difficult for […] us because my husband needed to be able to get some work done in the evenings but ended up having to find a Starbucks to connect to the internet. One of the reasons we chose the hotel was because of the free WiFi. Also, the pool area can get a bit loud, and travelling with a toddler, we needed to go to sleep earlier than most and the pool area was a bit rowdy and the music was loud. We could also hear people talking in the room next to us, so walls are pretty thin. Most doubletrees are very nice and clean, this particular one I had to ask for clean sheets 3 times and still had stained sheets! I was not satisfied with our stay. The room was close to the elevators and ut was very noisy! All night long you would hear noise, not sure if it was just elevators. "DoubleTree San Diego near Sea World & Mall"
Overall say was pleasant. I took my mom to Sea World for the first time last week. The hotel was in the perfect location, about 7-8 minutes away from Sea World. DoubleTree is located on S circle with several other hotels in the area. We were amazed about how close it is to the big shopping mall. I used my google navigation to locate The Cheesecake Factory. […] Lots of other shops I'd like to visit on my next trip. Pros: Nice breakfast, they charge but it's worth paying the discounted fee w/ your booking reservation. The pool has a nice fireplace/pit near it and the scenary is nice. Nice modern rooms, they are very clean with flat screen TV's and the bathrooms are upgraded. The front desk was friendly, they did however forget to include our breakfast vouchers which we paid for in advance. I later went downstairs and collected them from the other attendant who seemed a bit suspicious about whether we received them or not but gave them to us anyway. Another small issue, the ice machine wasn't working on our floor so I had to take the elevator down to the next floor to get ice. The only other issue I had was parking. Most reviews I read commented about how the parking structure is conveniently located next to the hotel but the driving space is extremely narrow when turning corners. You have to be extremely careful, I wonder how many people have had close calls coming around those corners. They charge $16 for parking, they should either lower or remove this fee because the parking structure needs work. Minimal issues... I plan on staying here again with my husband next time if I can book a good rate. I would highly recommend this hotel for the breakfast, nice rooms and location.
