Very nice hotel, great price. When I told the check in clerk I was there to celebrate my bday, she sent up a nice card with birthday wishes and 2 complimentary drinks at the lobby bar! I attended a conference at the Hyatt in March. It and nearby hotels were booked for the duration of my stay, so I booked one night at the Westin and then stayed at the Hyatt for the duration of my stay. I really enjoyed my time while in Westin. The cleanliness of room is outstanding and the hotel amenities is fully accessed. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were really relaxing. I am highly recommand people stay in this hotel whenever go to the San Diego.

The hotel is a bit older, and due for some renovations - there is a managers letter in the room stating so. The rooms are a bit dated and our corner room was small, but comfortable and very quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I've stayed at this hotel several times over the years and under different managements. The restaurant is very poor. On two occasions on this trip I ate in the dining room. The macadamian encrusted mahi mahi had not a nut in sight. The entree was was placed on the table before the appetizer was half finished, and they seemed clueless as to why I would […] be less than pleased. I tried the coconut encrusted shrimp on another night and not only was there no coconut, the batter wasn't fresh, but rather seemed like it had come from a frozen package. On all my stays at this hotel the dining has been dismal. Such a shame. The bar experience was great. Prompt, attentive service and a comfortable experience. The room was clean and comfortable. Bed was great. I was going to a conference at another hotel, that was booked up. In fact, I tried 6 different hotels that were booked as well.This was the only one with an opening. Says something. The staff are friendly, the layout of the hotel is nice, the room had a decent view, but there were several issues with the cleanliness of my room. First, I found a clementine under one of the beds in the room. That's a major indication that the cleaning staff is not very thorough. Secondly, the bathroom was fairly dirty and seemed like it had not been […] cleaned in a while. Many of the tiles had some level of mildew in between them and there were yellow spots/drops on the ceiling around the shower. My wife thinks it means that people used to smoke in that room, but I think it's the result of poor ventilation. In actuality, it's just the result of poor cleaning. It made feel gross. I only stayed there two nights and was there for a conference and did not have the time to complain to the staff. In the end, I was disappointed and the next time I'm in San Diego I'll try one of the many other hotels in the area. Read more

Nice clean, comfy room with view of bay. Very quiet. Coast Restaurant serves a wonderful breakfast. Highly recommend the Belgian Waffles. Staff courteous and helpful. Location close to harbor and easy distance to ballpark. Would go back again next stay in San Diego.

Hotel was modern and pretty clean but at 2:30 in the morning there was a major disturbance with a couple yelling and banging on door maybe even kicking the door. Called the front desk to make sure they were aware, but should have been offered a discount upon check out.

Good location, if you want to be near the San Diego Harbor or the Gas lamp district this hotel is for you. Small but adequete gym for a few night stay, with an outdoor pool and hot tub. Enjoy!

This was a very nice hotel and the staff were very accomodating to help me arrange outings for groups of conference attendees at local restaurants. My two minor complaints are that I don't think for this money you should have to pay $13/day to use the internet in your room ( you can get free service for 30 minutes in the lobby- but not exactly where […] I want to be to check a few work emails early in the AM or late at night. I also was surprised that there was no full length mirror in the room. The food seemed very expensive- even for a big city hotel. But the location is great- within walking distance of many restaurants and shops and the staff were very nice. Overall a good place to stay. Read more

Very lovely hotel, with fast check-in, even though I arrived early enough to take a good nap before the luncheon meeting. This is a beautiful hotel with views that are spectacular. Shopping is close any which way you want to go explore. There is a nightlife that is very much alive on the weekends. The only problem we encountered was with the valet service, as they were very short staffed. Go early if you need your car!

I wish my bed and pillows at home were this nice and comfortable! This hotel is really within walking distance of the Wharf, Seaport Village, Gaslamp area, the train station and the Midway. I would walk to the Marriott for my meetings and it took about 15 minutes of easy walking. There are taxis and pedicabs if you need them at night.
