"Welcome to the roach motel"
When I arrived at the motel it was approximately 45 minutes prior to their check-in time of 2:00. The clerk at the front desk who was apparently having a very bad day, as he appeared to have an angry look on his face said in an unpleasantly voice, check-in is not until 2:00. So I left and returned approximately 2 hours later and was given a room on […] the 4th floor (highest floor) with the elevator on the other side of the building from my room. The next morning while sitting in the room trying to relax in spite of the noise from passing cars on the freeway adjacent to the motel, I noticed a giant roach crawling up the side of the cabinet where the TV was placed. I did myself and the motel a favor and squashed it with my shoe. (didn't want it to end up in my clothes bag) When I called the front desk and told the clerk, who was fortunately a different one from the check-in clerk he offered to move me to another room. Prior to accepting his offer I asked if the motel had a problem with roaches and he hesitantly said no, but where there is one - there are many, especially as big as that one was. The first room was on the 4th floor and the elevator was not working. We walk in the room to find a significant flow of water leaking through the bathroom ceiling and standing water on floor. When I first checked into the hotel, a party was under way in the room above mine and spilled out onto the balcony walkway, There was alot of hooting, hollering and loud noise with constant stomping inside the room and slamming of doors. There was no manager on site and the desk personnel could not contact the manager. He would be in at 10 am the next morning. That was the same on Monday.. My travelling companion had an issue with his safe on the third day -- it would not open. Only the manager could open the safe. The desk clerk still had not heard from the manager. After my travel companion threatened to call the police the clerk went to his room with a spray lubricant and was able to open the safe. Wi-Fi would not stay operational. I feel they were not accomadating. We booked hotel for MCRD Graduation, so it was close. My husband doesn't do stairs well. When I first walked in I noticed a cigarette burn in the bed spread we asked for a non-smoking room. The sheets on the beds weren't even tucked in or made properly.
