Since completing renovations in 2011, the Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa has emerged as a champion hotel property on California's coveted Mission Bay, an aquatic preserve and natural paradise. This Hilton resort offers numerous children's amenities including a Kid's Club, where supervised activities and a children's wading pool are designed to win the approval of the whole family. While leisure guests take advantage of the full-service health spa, outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the two putting greens, five championship tennis courts and a peaceful lagoon pool with waterfalls. For the truly adventurous, the property boasts a private dock where wind-surfing, sailing, whale-watching excursions and other water activities are within reach. Guests celebrate Mission Bay as they step out onto the patio to take in the California air outside each of the guestrooms at the Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa. Each of the 357 rooms is decorated with tropical colors complementing the Mediterranean feel of the resort. Amenities include marble vanities, minibars, refrigerators, high-speed Internet access, satellite tv and desks.
Children under 16 years old are not allowed in the spa without adult supervision.
Reservations are required for massage services and spa treatments and can be made by contacting the property before arrival at the number on the booking confirmation.
The name on the credit card used at check-in to pay for incidentals must be the primary name on the guestroom reservation.

During warm weather, crowds pack the waters off Mission Beach and Pacific Beach, two of the most popular stretches of San Diego sand. These laidback locales are known to host the occasional farmer’s market or arts festival. Mission Boulevard connects both beaches and leads north to La Jolla.

The hotel is close to the freeway, walking distance to Seaworld and a quick drive to Fashion Valley Mall. The hotel grounds are nice. Bathroom could use updating. Room service fees are ridiculous. Best part was breakfast and our server(Terry) was so funny.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Upgrade"

"beautiful retreat"
he hotel was clean, the pool area was lovely. There was a seperate fenced in area that had a duck & fish pond, we had so much fun feeding the ducks & fish ! Inside the pool area there was a wading pool for young children, there was 2 seperate jacuizzi areas, there was a ping pong table, a big checker set, and a waterfall. They also had little cabannas […] that you could sit in around the pool. The one complaint that I had is that I had requested that my room was close to the other two rooms in our group. "Construction at 8:30 am on Sunday morning?!?!"
The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable, however I can't say I was as satisfied with the service. My boyfriend and I dealt with 3 of the front desk employees on 3 different occasions and 2 out 3 seemed less than happy to help us or answer our questions. The worst of all was when at 8:30 am on Sunday morning we were awakened by […] construction. VERY LOUD CONSTRUCTION. As if it was happening in or right next to the hotel. A warning when we booked our room would have been nice. We were on vacation and would have loved to sleep in. When we called the desk to see if it would stop soon, the woman had no idea there was any construction and said she'd look into it for us. The construction continued until well past 11am (needless to say we didn't fall back asleep)... with no follow up call from the desk, no offer to move rooms, or at least discount our current one. Half the reason we decided to pay a high price for a hotel was to ensure a good and comfortable night's sleep!! I'm outraged that this hotel doesn't have better costumer service! "Worst Check In Service!!!"
I WAS NOT Impressed at ALL with the Hotel Clerks that Check you in. My room was not ready when I got there even though I Requested Early Check-in. They did not call to tell me it was ready until mid-afternoon. Then when they finally gave me the keys they sent me to a room that was Already Occupied! Then I went back down to the lobby she gave me news […] keys to a different room. When I went to that room, the keys did not work. It was such a waste of my time! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!! There The lobby staff was not helpful or friendly at all. The spa is another major problem!! They charged me for mine and my friends services, even though I asked for a seperate check. She was supposed to give me a credit at the time of check out. It did not get taken off. So went I got back to town I still had over $300 of extra charges that were on my credit card. I had to call the credit card company and get it all fixed. What a hassle and waste of my time. They did not say they were sorry or care that they caused me a major inconvience, not to mention taken $300 of my money that was a mistake. This is the worst service I have ever had at a hotel!! "Prettier in pictures..."
I was mesmerized by the beautiful photos of the property and made the effort to alittle more for a great experience. The actual room was ok...really no ohs or awes about the room at all. I registered for a double room, what I got was a non functional room for even one person. The pipes of the sink were wrapped with duck tape, the room was didrty when I checked in and the size of the restuarant bar area was unsatisfactory. I think they should drop the resort and spa title., it was more along the lines of an express hotel. The staff were […] very nice and worked hard to find me an acceptable room. "Awful service"
We stayed 4 nights here with my friend. Room was beautiful, also the bay view. But I cannot believe how bad the service could be in this hotel. We were shocked how the staff treated us first two days. On third day everything changed. I don't know what happened but everybody started to say hello to us and serve us at restaurants. Still I won't recommend […] this hotel. Maybe if you look rich or have big family they will serve you, but they totally ignored us, two ladies in our thirties. Hotel experience is so much more than just beautiful rooms and beach. If you want to read some details here I give you some examples. Lady in reception didn't welcome us when we checked in, she treated us like we didn't have the right to come to their hotel. Later we came to ask where we could find something to drink cause all their restaurants and room service was closed. Another girl in reception didn't even look at us while talking. This happened 3 times cause their soda machine didn't work. Finally she reluctantly gave us two bottles of water (because we didn't want to offer water from some pizzaplace she suggested). At breakfast staff didn't say good morning or serve us, always walked by after taking us to our table. Next morning my friend had to wait almost half an hour to get her check. She asked for the check, but the waiters served other tables... All this left a bad taste even though last day was different. Schönes Hotel direkt am Strand. Zimmer sind sauber und haben neben den normalen Standards eines 4 Sterne Hotels auch einen Kühlschrank. Warum allerdings das Parken (kein Valet-Parken) pro Nacht 25 USD kostest kann ich nicht ganz nachvollziehen.
