Wyndham San Diego Bayside

The location was perfect for my weekend getaway with a nice view to add to it. Very close to the airport. You can see and hear the planes coming in, but you do get a nice view of the bay. I was only disappointed that there was no Jacuzzi, and that I had to pay $24 to park overnight in the garage. Other than that this place was nice.

I was quite happy with my recent stay at the Wyndham. First off, I must say that the staff were very friendly and helpful. The building seems a bit dated but fairly well maintained. The view on the 10th floor was great overlooking the bay and the Star of India. A short few blocks bring you to Little Italy, and in another direction to the USS Midway. The outside of the hotel looks a little shabby but our room on the 14th floor overlooking downtown was just great. We loved sitting out on the balcony. The bathroom looked newly remodeled. We asked the front desk for extra towels and a sewing kit and they were brought to our room within 10 minutes. The location is the best. This hotel is super convenient for taking mass transportation. The hotel staff is probably the nicest and most helpful I've ever encountered. The room was fine. A bit on the small side and awkwardly laid out, but it was fine. Nice linens, but pillows too soft. The balcony was really nice, too. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

A parking garage is being built next door so lots of construction noise starting at 7am. The airport is also close so the takeoffs are also noisy when I was sitting on the balcony. We checked out days early because of all the noise from the site, airport and surrounding streets. Hotel staff was very nice about it though.

The hotel is in a great location with a lot to do around it. They had amazingly great rates for a last minute New Year's Eve trip. The room was clean ans surroundings were well kept. The only thing I did not like was that their self parking was full, so they told me I would have to valet it. I handed over the keys and went to check in. Front-desk representative was very pleasant and considerate. Since my stay was only one night I didn't have a chance to fully appreciate the beautiful ocean view. Getting the shuttle to the airport was effortless. I was very pleased with my stay at this Holiday Inn and will definitely choose this hotel when I have a chance to return to San Diego.

The only complaint we have is the noise! we were put in the south tower facing the trains and WOW, they were making noise all night long. It would be a good idea if you want to stay at this hotel to bring ear plugs, or ask if they provide them. It was too late for us. The airport is also very close.

Outside looks very dated, but the inside is in better condition. Location is great right on the water, even if you have a room that doesn't overlook the water, you get views of downtown. Nice deck with chairs to enjoy it by. Street noise is high, but that would be the case anywhere down there. Bathroom shower was large, no tub, but I rarely use one […] anyway. Only one sink, which got a bit crowded. Comfortable beds, slept well the whole week. Didn't go into the pool, but it looked nice. Large gift shop. 2 restaurants onsite, not technically owned by holiday inn. Parking is expensive, $22 a day, but would be similar at any hotel located downtown. Walked a mile from here to the convention center, enjoyable walk along the boardwalk. Read more

This hotel was convenient and the room was clean and comfortable. The free airport shuttle and shuttle to the zoo were very handy. I'm a heavy sleeper so didn't have much trouble with the noise. However, my roommate was a light sleeper. The walls seem to be fairly thin. And, as has been mentioned by plenty of others, there can be a fair amount of noise […] from the trains. The only other issue was problems with the room keys. The 2nd night, our room keys wouldn't open the outside door but did work on the room. The 3rd night, they wouldn't work on either. The location for us was terrific. Access right across the street to Bay and eateries were within walking distance. Great restaurant and bar on premises. Easy access to trolly and Am-Track, and for the most part, employees helpful and friendly.

WE Loved It!! The hotel is one and a half miles from airport. from our balcony we could see the planes land and take off .Planes land and takeoff every90 seconds or so. We didn't mine it at all. After 10.30 pm the planes stop. It's bedtime for us. WE were on the 11th floor room 1155 Bay Side What a View of the bay!!. The hotel has a shuttle to the airport […] and also a shuttle to the Village Seaport and the Zoo.For Free. The food was great and the service at the hotel.You can dine outside or inside. You are in walking distance to so many things.A must is, the 2 hour cruise,it is narrarated and tours the north and south bays .Take a ferry to Coranado .Take a 2 hour tour on the trolley, you can get off at there stops and get back on when your done site seeing. Make Sure you ask for a non-obstructed Bay view room. The only thing that bothered me was, there was no exhuast fan in the bathroom. They have a air vent how it works is a mystery. The hotel was nice, excellent view of the bay. I have 2 complaints. # 1 the concierge person was not personable. I asked about shuttle info to the airport for our return and she said you have to follow the schedule and gave me a card with the shuttle info. Also I would like to see 2 chairs in the room that are comfortable.
