    hotel was a great value .. corner King suite was a 'sweet deal' , staff were really helpful, the valet guys stored our bikes sakely so we didnt have to... leave them in the bike rack..decent small balcony overlooking the marina.The hotel restaurant is pretty good, nice environment..all the staff were good too..overall an awesome long weekend away to beautiful sunny SD by NN  from LA on 05/13/13

    Overview

    Location.
    Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina is located in San Diego, Calif., adjacent to the Mission Bay Aquatic Park. The resort is one-quarter mile from SeaWorld Adventure Park and Mission Beach. Marina Village Conference Center is one-half mile away. The resort is three miles from Historic Old Town.

    Hotel Features.
    Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina has an 17-story tower with views of the Pacific Ocean, Mission Bay and gardens. The resort features jogging and cycling paths and offers bicycle rentals. The property also features a hair salon an eco-friendly spa offering facials, massages, body treatments, manicures and pedicures. Other amenities of this resort include three new pools, multiple water slides, a waterfront fitness center and an on-site, full-service marina. Red Marlin serves California-modern cuisine with an emphasis on sustainable, organic ingredients and boasts bayside views. The pool bar and lounge, SWIM, offers a Pan-Latino fusion menu and showcases a 360-degree, 800-gallon aquarium in the center of the bar. For business travelers, the resort provides a conference center and a 24-hour business center. High-speed Internet access is available in public areas (surcharge). An area shuttle is complimentary.

    Guestrooms at Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina feature views of the ocean, garden, marina, courtyard or pool. Rooms offer cherry or light wooden armoires, headboards and tables or desks. All rooms provide 32-inch LCD flat-screen televisions and iHome stereo alarm clocks with iPod docking stations. High-speed wired and wireless Internet access is available (surcharge). Other room amenities include Hyatt Grand Beds with plush pillowtop mattresses, refrigerators and in-room safes.     We stayed at this hotel for a conference my wife was attending. We had one of their "junior suites". The furniture in the room was dingy and looked as if it came from a second hand store. We kept a blanket draped over the couch so we wouldn't have to touch the fabric. The bed was in a corner of the room with two windows, neither had curtains, they only […] had blinds. Outside of those windows were two bright lights illuminating a hotel pathway. The blinds did a horrible job of blocking the light. There was no way to make our bedroom dark. We slept poorly because of it. The in room fridge does not cool things, instead it freezes them solid. The hotel requires that you pay to park your own car. One night we cruised the parking lot for thirty minutes before finding a space. The hotel also does not provide free wi-fi. I simply don't understand why they don't raise their rates and include these services for free. I've stayed at lower priced hotels that include parking and free wi-fi. One last thing, the gym is very small, it has a lot of equipment but packed into a tiny room. I always regret staying at Hyatt. I would not stay there again. Read more

    Pool side was very noisy - children having a great time at the pool resulted in excited screams and slamming gate. The Marina side would probably be best. I would normally say it is IDEAL for families because they have the bonus of swimming pools with water slides and life guards on duty from 10-5. Excellent, right? Well, this is the problem: we have stayed twice now and both times the hotel was hosting a wedding on Saturday […] night. The hotel hosts the weddings in a tent venue on the grounds. The problem is that it's location results in the other guests in the hotel that night being treated to POUNDINGLY loud music until midnight causing everyone to be tired and cranky the next day. The music is so loud that the sliding glass doors of the room are vibrating. Of course, I reported how loud the music was to the hotel management but nothing happens and I was essentially told: it's someone's wedding, what can we do? The combination of a super family-friendly hotel with a really loud outdoor disco until midnight is not a useful combination. I know that weddings are big business for the hotel but for the sake of the rest of the guests they need to find a way to locate the wedding venue to somewhere where it isn't going to keep the rest of their guests up until midnight. Maybe we were unlucky to pick weekends that had weddings both times but I would bet that it is a very popular location for weddings and that they happen quite frequently. The next room we got did not have a nice view bay view (had the gym in front; we had an ocean front room, the occupied room had a nice view though). Took 30 minutes because the printer was being used by Hyatt staff members. Had to use another 6.00 for another 15 minutes. The concierge said they would remove the charges but did not.     We stayed in a double queen suite portion of the hotel during the winter months. The first thing we saw when walking into the suite was the living room portion of the suite which was dreary, dark & the furniture was stained. It did not look like the photos on the website. There was no table to eat the room service we got. The beds were just ok & the […] hide-away for my son was aweful. We could have used more pillows, the website shows 6 and we got 3 per bed & 1 extra for the hide-away. The deck could barely hold the two chairs & small endtable. On the up side, the staff was very friendly & efficient. The roomservice was fast, hot & tasted very good. There was pleanty of of outlets to charge all of our gadgets & lots of mirrors tastefully around the suite for this family of 5 to get ready for the day. We tried to eat at the Red Marlin which was very empty on a Saturday night but it was very expensive & nothing on the menu appealed to our young teens. We enjoyed having Einstein Bros Bagels on property for breakfast & did the whale watching tour less than a block away. That was a great tour & cheap once we used the half price coupon we got on line. The weather wasn't warm enough to use the pool but it looked bigger on the website. We didn't like having to pay for parking but that is becoming the norm. I would recommend this hotel to friends with the condition that they realize that the website makes it look much more regal. I would say it is a 3.5 star vs 4 star hotel. Read more

The view was great and the staff was very helpful and pleasant when I needed assistance, especially Eike. I would absolutely return to Hyatt for any future trips to San Diego.

    Hotel was fine. Information on Hotels.com website on this hotel was inaccurate - Hotels.com website listed free local shuttle service but this was not correct. Hyatt website correctly noted only 3rd party purchased shuttle available. Fun to be next to harbor (seals heard and seen) but no beach.

Our hotel does offer a round trip complimentary shuttle from the hotel to nearby Mission Beach, however this is only available during the summer months due to occupancy levels. We also offer a great SeaWorld WaterTaxi that transports our guests to and from SeaWorld on a boat. We have received some wonderful feedback about both experiences.     We love this hotel and have been here several times. The only issues we had on our most recent trip was that the coffee shop that is on the marina is now closed on Mondays and Tuesdays as is the Swim lounge. So, we had to get a $15 pot of coffee from room service. Other than that and the $20 self parking fee, it's a nice place to stay.

    I can't speak for the main hotel but the suite rooms were terribly noisey.The tile outside the rooms was not flat so it sounded like someone was skateboarding outside your room all night.     When there is a social event in the pavilion the band/music and related noise, (partiers standing outside)makes it impossible to sleep in the west side of the Tower. On Friday (10/26/12) the band played until after 1:30 in the morning. The noise continued after that.

Typically when a self-parking guest is unable to locate a spot in the self-parking lot we will provide complimentary Valet parking for the inconvenience. Lastly, although the hotel is a popular wedding destination, we do hold all wedding groups to the noise limitations designated in the contract to minimize any disturbances to our guests.     We paid extra for an "oceanview" room and got a view of the back of a building. There were dirty towels in the bathroom sink when we got in and the bathroom door was broken so it wouldn't close all the way. Went to check out and they charged us $25 for valet, even though we never used it. Went to talk to the front desk and they were super nice and apologetic, […] and offered to take off our lunch charge from the room which I thought was very nice.
