We were first sent to a room that was occupied. Our keys worked and we found someone elses stuff there. The next room we got did not have a nice view bay view (had the gym in front; we had an ocean front room, the occupied room had a nice view though). The cleaning service never refilled the coffee, or left clean coffee/water glasses. We had to use […] the 6.00 per 15 min business facility to print sea world tickets. Took 30 minutes because the printer was being used by Hyatt staff members. Had to use another 6.00 for another 15 minutes. The concierge said they would remove the charges but did not. When checking out I mentioned that the charges were supposed to be removed. The front desk person questioned me in detail about who said/ and why I should have the charges removed. "Nice but not as regal as the website makes it look"
We stayed in a double queen suite portion of the hotel during the winter months. The first thing we saw when walking into the suite was the living room portion of the suite which was dreary, dark & the furniture was stained. It did not look like the photos on the website. There was no table to eat the room service we got. The beds were just ok & the […] hide-away for my son was aweful. We could have used more pillows, the website shows 6 and we got 3 per bed & 1 extra for the hide-away. The deck could barely hold the two chairs & small endtable. On the up side, the staff was very friendly & efficient. The roomservice was fast, hot & tasted very good. There was pleanty of of outlets to charge all of our gadgets & lots of mirrors tastefully around the suite for this family of 5 to get ready for the day. We tried to eat at the Red Marlin which was very empty on a Saturday night but it was very expensive & nothing on the menu appealed to our young teens. We enjoyed having Einstein Bros Bagels on property for breakfast & did the whale watching tour less than a block away. That was a great tour & cheap once we used the half price coupon we got on line. The weather wasn't warm enough to use the pool but it looked bigger on the website. We didn't like having to pay for parking but that is becoming the norm. I would recommend this hotel to friends with the condition that they realize that the website makes it look much more regal. I would say it is a 3.5 star vs 4 star hotel. I can't speak for the main hotel but the suite rooms were terribly noisey.The tile outside the rooms was not flat so it sounded like someone was skateboarding outside your room all night. From people rolling their luggage to staff delivering meals and cart pickups all night it was hard to sleep. Not what I expected from a Hyatt. "Late night noise on the weekends"

"Super disappointing and in great need of some TLC"
We paid extra for an "oceanview" room and got a view of the back of a building. There were dirty towels in the bathroom sink when we got in and the bathroom door was broken so it wouldn't close all the way. Went to check out and they charged us $25 for valet, even though we never used it. Ups: Nice location and restaurant Red Marlin (however, the restaurant is a bit overpriced for what they offer; e.g. $22 for a breakfast buffet with quite limited choices). The suites are large. Downs: We stayed in a suite which was in a really bad condition (lot's of stains on the carpet, dirty furniture on the patio, dirty trash can in the bath […] room, furniture with very clear signs of wear and tear etc. We asked the front desk for a different room and were offered the room next door (another suite). "Lot of money for very little."
We were expecting a 4 star hotel from the ratings everyone gave. However we received a 2 star at best. There was very little self parking after 8 pm. For $20 a night they should have more parking so you don't have to park in the street. We have 5 people in our room so the pull-out had to be used. There was no blankets in the room for the pull-out and […] the matress itself was stained and very used. The first couple of nights we had a small refigerator that would not stay cold and was finally replaced on the 3rd night. $9.95 for 24 hrs of internets is unheard of. They didn't have the room that we reserved. Waterfront two queen. The Tower doesn't seat right to get water views unless you are above the ten floor. The furnture needs to be updated. "Not worth the price"
The standard 2 queen room was small and had a dingy smell to it. There was a large water stain on the popcorn ceiling. No microwave and the fridge is a minibar fridge and can't keep regular food in it. Super windy during our stay which made pool time miserable. Food was expensive (as is most on site hotel dining). This definitely not a 4 star hotel. We were in the waterfront suite and it did not feel like a suite. It didn't even have a microwave. Also, their suite building is only two stories so there isn't much of a view. The room was dirty. The white lamp had brown stains. The mirrors were dirty. The bed was stained. It was just gross. "Very disappointing on many levels"
If you are looking to have a party it appears many have been had here. We were in a waterfront suite. The carpets were stained in all 3 rooms. Walls had black marks and signs of many a hole and repair (rooms 2211, 2214 and 2215). Sofa cushion was stained (room 2214). Housekeeping offered to spray the room with perfume due to urine smell (room 2214). […] Small stalls for parking assuring you will leave with a door ding. I have stayed at Hyatt hotels for years, and this was an extremely disappointing experience. We paid extra to stay in a suite, only for our car to be broken into in the Hyatt Suite Parking Lot. I spent a night at this hotel for my boyfriends birthday. The hotel, cleanness/service/maintenance/etc, was not that bad. BUT comparing to the cost I paid?!?! I do not think it was "as well". First, there were only two places to eat inside the hotel for dinner, and both of the restaurant does not have that much menu choices. Second, there were NOT enough […] amenities; ex no slippers/ gowns/ sanitary bag/ cotton bud/ combs/ etc... Third, the room door was soooo tight that it was a fight against the door every time when we needed to use the toilet..... and Forth, the staff were ALL SOOOO KIND and FRIENDLY that it made me feel so bad to feel disappointed against the hotel where they are working. "Bad Service and Dirty"
We went here for my birthday vacation. It looked very nice from the outside and from the pictures. Well a picture is worth 1000 words. The room had dead smashed bugs all over. My boyfriend and I counted at least 6, i guess this was not a part of housekeeping. I've been to many hotels before and it is normal for hotels to put a security deposit hold […] on your card. However this place authorized to take it out so the funds were not available to us also they didn't even tell us about holding a security deposit. $300 of funds we thought we had. The thing that bothered me was that they charged $20 a day for parking a night, we stayed for 4 nights, half the time it took us over 30 minutes to find parking. One time we even had to stop and run in to ask front desk where to park. They told us that there was a wedding going on and this made me even more upset because how can they charge for a service they can't adequately provide? I liked the location, and the view but other than that it was just a disappointment. I relayed all of my concerns to the girl at check out, she apologized and comped me one day of parking. "Good start that soured"
My family of four stayed at this hotel over Labor Day weekend. We loved the landscaping, the many fire pits where the kids can roast marshmallows and the terrific pool complex. The restaurants were pricey though this was expected but the internet fee of $38 seemed ridiculously steep as did the $20/day parking fee when there was plenty of on-street parking […] surrounding the hotel lots. We had no idea we were being charged for parking until we checked out and saw our bill. However, what really soured our experience occurred at the end of our stay. Shortly after checkout on our way to the airport, we realized that we had accidentally left my daughter's expensive game console in the hotel room. We called immediately and were ready to turn around to pick it up but were first told it wasn't there and then received conflicting messages about whether housekeeping might have already picked it up. I was told to call back the next morning after housekeeping had logged in all items left in rooms from the previous day. But when I called the next morning, housekeeping had no idea about any such log and told me they would call me back but never did. Very nice hotel. Great pool. However, the pool stays open until 11:30pm and they play very loud music until that time. I figured I would make it up by sleeping in, but the music and pool starts back up again at 8:00am. One day a high pressure washer cleaned the pool area down at 7:30am and it was extremely loud. Also, there are three pools, but none […] are designated for kids or adults so the hundred or so kids ruled all three. They should really have one that adults can relax in. I had my kid so this didn't bug me too much, but it was obvious that the adults without kids were pretty much excluded from using the pool in peace. The kids remained until 11:30 each night. "Not a 4 star hotel!"
After extensive research, we've picked this hotel based on others traveler reviews. For the price I paid for this hotel, it is not worth it. I've visit many 4 to 5 stars hotels before and this hotel doesn't even meet the standard. Our room was a very expensive basic room and the condition of the room is just plain and simple. The bathroom mirror was […] dirty and old. The floor was extremely dirty, my son walked on the bathroom floor and came out with black dirty feet. The bathtub was leaking water and overall just really dirty and disgusting. I felt like I was staying at the Inns. Our room was faced toward the pool and we can hear music blasting starting 6 a.m. and people drunk and screaming at 1 in the morning due to parties and events that the hotel offers. The customer service at check-in was not friendly and the pool area was extreamly small. I have never been to a pool of a resort that everyone is fighting for a chair in the pool area at a 70's degrees weather. "Not 4 star quality"
We booked through expedia hotels.com deals. The price is OK but: 1. We were put in a room upstairs of the main registration. I don't think the condition is 4 star quality. It is about the same as some of the 2-3 star hotel that I have stayed. Room and bed are clean and OK. I suspect the tall building behind the registration has better rooms but how […] can you control which room you get? Anyway I did not get a 4 star room that I thought I paid for. 2. The soundproofing of the room is really bad. We have someone chatting loudly in the next room and we can clearly hear what they are talking about. It went on till midnight, until we can not stand it and call the front desk. 3. We were charged an absurd 20$ per night parking fee. Suggestion, you maybe able to park outside of the parking lot on the street for free, just a few steps away. 4. The internet access is 10$ for basic acaess and 13$ for business access. The basic access will limit you on speed and overall upload/download MB. Many lesser hotels these days offers wifi for free. The hotel is about 30-40 min walk from seaworld. It is close to the water though where you can take a walk. But overall, I am better of staying at a 2-3 star inn which offers about the same quality room and comfort for much less money. "Moldly Hotel Room - Do NOT BOOK the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa!"
The check in was fine, but when we arrived in our hotel room - everything changed for the worst! The photos and explanation about the new upgrades sounded very nice and inviting. When we opened out door we were instantly greeted by the powerful smell of mold! The hotel is older and when you actually inspected the walls, tile, shower and wood, you could […] see that old age had set in. The new paint and furniture were nice but they just tried to cover up a really old problem and not well at all! They painted right over the mold?!? Since we were only sleeping in the room and would be out for the better portion of the evening, we didn't think to let this bother us. The next morning when we woke, I could see 2 large cut out patches on the ceiling that were patched over rather poorly. After the person took a shower above our room, water started leaking down in two spots onto our floor. I placed to cups on the ground to catch the drops! Now I know why this room smelled so bad and moldy! What a let down!!! We did have a choice of hotels and I would have never expected such poor maintenance from a Hyatt! The hotel staff were nice and helpful. I was disappointed in in the location of the hotel. From the description i really thought it was closer to the beach. There was no way of walking to the beach. The view was nice, but i was also disappointed in the room. They talked about a renovation, but the rooms were old and looked cheap. It was clean, but is […] hard to get old looking clean. The furniture was scratched up and old. The Granite bathrooms were cheap and the tub had gouges . We came back to our room 2 times to a sewer smell and reported it. "DON'T DO IT!"

"Not a well maintained hotel"
We stayed for two nights at this hotel because we were attending a reception that was taking place in the hotel. The wait to checkin at 4 pm was 25 minutes. It was a zoo in the lobby. We were giving a 2nd story room ft. The room was rundown and rather dirty. We were able to use wifi for an addittional $10 per device, park the car for an additional $25 […] a night and watch movies (regular channels were blurry) For $15.99 a movie. We ended up paying an additional $150 a day to make our stay bearable. For what we spent a night a night we could have stayed in a wonderful hotel, not this run down resort. The location was good if you were going to Sea World and the mattresses were comfortable. We tried to order room service only to find it end at 10pm. The staff was able to give us the number of a food delivery service, but when it came we were told we had to meet them at the front desk, staff would not allow them on the property. "Not so good hotel"
The room seemed tired and dated. The door to the bathroom was jamed and in need to repair. The front door to the room was also jamming and the door handle was upside down as though it had previously been repaired. Overall, I would not stay there again.
