The location was everything with this hotel. Just south of Balboa for a visit to the zoo, a mile from Petco Park, and close to Broadway and Market street, the purpose of this hotel was strictly for it's location. For what I payed, this was a perfect stay. Granted it is a little lower on the looks scale but the staff were friendly, it was a good location to everything, and the price made it a easy choice. If I'm ever down here again, I will choose this hotel again.

I loved staying here great price for area, the nightlife at gaslamp was just blocks away, quiet neighborhood made it easy to sleep peacefully. Inspite of the fact they had parking lot washing underway, they made it easy for guests like us. The staff takes care of problems quickly and effeciently. The hotel is located where it is easy to drive to the Convention Center which is what we needed.

first..the hotel staff was friendly..the service was fantastic from the front desk to the guest service...they brought toothbrush andtoothpaste tomy room at adimeafter request...it's conveniently located near everything in SanDiego..and the provide free shuttle to and from the airport..all for a reasonable price..I got AWESOME bang for my buck!!

Being that i work at a hotel, my expectations of the price i paid was GREAT! The room had two beds as i asked and was very spacious compared to other hotels that were more expensive in gaslamp. I asked for extra towels and received them right away-customer service is a 10. We roamed around by foot and everything was so close to the hotel! My family reserved 7 rooms at the Rodeway for my sister's wedding. At the last minute there was a snafu regarding the complimentary shuttle that we were relying on to move 17 people to the ceremony. One of the managers, Anisa, was extremely pleasant and helpful. She worked it out so that my family had exclusive use of the shuttle when we needed it. […] Not only that, since we had to start shuttling out at 3:30 and check-in time was 3:00, she asked Sarah to call us Monday morning to find out which rooms were in our wedding party so that those would be cleaned first, allowing us to check in by 2 o'clock to ease the time crunch. Additionally, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that our mattresses were extremely comfortable. Considering the price range I didn't expect much, but everybody in our party commented on the comfort of the beds. The hotel was easy to get to (just off the freeway), well-located for exploring Downtown and the Embarcadero, priced right, and the entire staff- especially Anisa and Sarah, was polite and helpful. I can't think of even one negative comment regarding our stay and I will be recommending the Rodeway-Downtown in the future to visiting friends and family. Read more

Very near airport. free shuttle. Not a luxury hotel. It has a bed, and a bathroom, dont expect more than just that. Parking free also. Walking distance to restaurants.

I was honestly expecting a dump from what I have seen of other Rodeway Inns. But the room was renovated, so it was much better than the picture. Roomy, clean, comfy bed. I was going to a concert at the House of Blues and it was within walking distance. I will definitely stay again next year.

I initially hesitated to pick this hotel because of some negative comments I read but in the end I am glad that I did. We had no problem with the hotel. The personnel at the reception was extremely helpfull. You are very close (walking distance) to downtown and especially the Gaslamp Quarter where all the nightlife takes place. You don't need to rent […] a car unless you absolutely need it. But a daily or four day pass for the trolley and buses will take care of your needs. ベッドのスプリングがもう少し固ければ全部５にしていました。(この価格では、ほとんど文句のない程度です。） 案内も親切、コーヒーや紅茶は好きな時に飲めるし、コンピュータも使えて、部屋にはドライヤーやアイロンまであります。帰りも迎えにあるHoliday Innのシャトルバスを無料(もちろんチップは渡しましたが）で利用させてくれて空港まで行けてとても便利でした。動物園やガスランプにも歩いて行けるしロケーションもとても良かったです。
