I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel; I liked that the hotel rooms weren't stacked on top of each other. The hotel was darling. "Economy at Best"

"Pleasant enough, no-frills overnight stay"
I chose this motel because I needed only overnight accommodations and expected to arrive in the evening and depart early the next morning. It is located on a highway among other businesses, somewhat separated from other motels in Merced which front Hwy 99. There is no restaurant at the motel or within easy walking distance (at least for a woman alone […] after dark) so I had to drive to get dinner that night and a full breakfast the next morning. A reasonable continental breakfast (coffee, muffins, etc) was offered, but I preferred something heartier and drove the half-mile or so to Carrows. My room was large and comfortable, the wall heater was quiet enough that I could hear the TV (not always the case) and I had no problem with traffic noise or other disturbances.
