This is great place for those looking for a reasonable motel in the Scottsdale-Mesa area. Older but well kept and very clean. All rooms face in towards a nice pool and green courtyard area in the middle of the complex. Would be a real hit if you happen to have kids along. I recently stayed at the Papago inn prior to a job interview and found the property was very nice. My room door stuck every time I attempted entry. I had to body slam the door to get in. Although not in a pedestrian friendly area, a quick drive delivers you to downtown Scottsdale with all the restaurants and shopping it is famous for. Easy drive to airport. Driving by you would never guess the shady tropical pool area that exist behind the non-descript hotel facade. "Old hotel with a back alley, not inviting staff."
The location of this hotel was not good. Located on a street with a bunch of car dealerships and by a strip mall. Hotels exposed to a back ally, which did not seem to be safe. First impression was not good as when we approached our room, there was a shopping cart in front of the door, and our room was on the 2nd floor. Our room was old and not in good […] condition. Baseboards not complete and wall was uneven with dimples of spackel. Room was noisy as we could hear everything going on outside and in the room next to us. People in the room next to us was up to 3 AM and talking loudly so we did not get a good nights sleep at all. 2nd Room that we moved to was better but not great. I've stayed here several times and this was my least favorite of the group. This room was dated and needed upgrading. Instead of 3 regular-sized pillows, this room featured 4 square-shaped pillows that were not comfortable. Toilet made noise all night. On a good note, staff was very friendly.
