The Belltown Inn

This hotel is a great place for anyone who is on a budget and wants a clean, friendly hotel that is within walking distance of the Space Needle and Pikes Place Market. There is a decent grocery store a block away and we had a kitchenette with mini-fridge so that we could have breakfast in our room and save some money. The neighborhood is about average, but Seattle has a general large population of crazies and we never felt like we were in danger. The rooftop has a nice view of the city and is nice to hang out at sunrise or sunset. The hotel does not have AC, but there was a ceiling and floor fan provided which made our stay cool and comfortable. Overall, the room was average, but met our needs. We are not the type of people to stay in the hotel for too long since we like to walk around and see the city. We would stay here again. Read more

One of the tiniest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. The bed was comfortable. Our room faced an alleyway. It was sufficient for 2 people who do not want to spend any time in their hotel except to sleep.

The rooms are clean and the location is great. For the price you can't find something downtown like it. The one thing that was a negative was that, no where on the website said you had to reserve a parking space. We checked in at 5 o'clock and there was no parking available. So we had to park on the street. It's $2.50 in a hour and free after 8pm-8am. […] On Sunday it's free all day. Anyways when we checked in the front desk said to stop by when we went to move our car in the morning and they world have a parking pass. Once again there was no parking passes. The front desk in the morning said they were all reserved? Why hadn't the front desk guy from the night before told us about reserving or just simply reserved one for us. Well I moved the car to a parking lot a half block away. It was $7 weekend rate till 5. Then had to move it back to the street and pay $2.50 a hour again till 8pm. I loved this place! I can't believe I found something this centrally located for under $100/night! They accept pets and there is a dog park right across the street. The room was good sized and clean. The main thing I noticed that I didn't like about our stay at The Belltown was the lack of security at the building. The front door is not guarded by a secure key, so anyone could potentially just walk in. We left and came back after a front desk shift change, and when we just walked right by the desk no one said a thing. I'm not completely convinced […] the front desk staff are paying attention to who is walking past them and into the elevator. I realize it would be an inconvenience to check EVERY person's room key until they were on a face-recognition basis, so if there was a lock on the front door so that only patrons could get in it would go a long way in terms of a conveying a sense of security. Also, as a side note, the description of the room states there is cookware and dishes. We had neither of these, left only with two coffee cups and two water glasses. Read more

Our initial expectation of an adequate good value was exceeded. The hotel had a boutique feel and the location was in an revitalized section of the city with abundant character and with real people. We walked everywhere we wanted to go, day and night, including the Olympic Sculpture Garden, the waterfront, Pike St Market, and the Westlake Center.

We were on the public transit bus line and within walking distance of nearly everything we wanted to see. No problems with anything associated with the hotel. Staff was extremely helpful in giving directions and answering questions. We enjoyed ourselves for the whole three days and two nights we were in Seattle.

Really liked this hotel- helpful staff, good location and some nice extras- water andmicrowave popcorn in your room. No air conditioning, which typically would not matter but we were there during a heat wave- rooms have ceiling fans and other fans so it was not bad. Would stay here again!

Loved the nice bikes the hotel loans out to guest for free. We took the paved bike path along the waterfront out to the Palisades restaurant for a great view and tasty happy hour treats in the bar. We were surprised the hotel was only 2 stars...apparently because they have no a/c and the neighborhood can be a little iffy.

For the price of a 4 star a night you get a 2 star hotel in a great location. The staff effort was just enough to make you think they hate their job. What a nice hotel with great desk staff and perfect location. The room was small but had everything including a refrigerator and microwave. The place had a very adult feel to it, probably because of small rooms, no pool, etc. I liked this about it. Bus service right outside plus loaner bikes make traveling a breeze. I spent my 35th Birthday in Seattle and the Belltown Inn was a perfect spot to stay. The staff was super friendly every time we came in and out of the lobby. Free bikes to borrow while you stay there - Room has 1 coke 1 diet coke and 1 water free in your mini-fridge. Rooftop patio is a great place to hangout and have a drink with friends. The room […] was clean - staff was great at making up the bed and getting us clean towels. The noice level was a little elevated due to we faced 3rd St. and there is a fire station a block away on 4th St. But if you close your patio door - noise gone - that easy. There is a dog park across the street that was fun to stop by on the way in from our daily adventures. We saw regulars and they just loved playing and running - it was fun to watch if you have a soft spot for animals. Belltown Inn is within the free bus zone and the bus stops at the corner. You also are 3 blocks from The Link stop @ Westlake. And it's only 3 blocks up from the cruise ship terminal. There are lots of great places to eat within walking distance - Cherry Street on 1st; Local 360 on Bell & 1st; Belltown Pub on 1st; Starbucks on 1st. We also walked over to Lola's for breakfast and even Whole Foods for groceries. We used the internet in the lobby - which was fine by us. WiFi in the room cost $5/day extra. You get 5 free prints and then the extras are $.25cents. We used it only to print our boarding passes. The elevator was slllooowwww - we took the stairs every time!!! The staff was super great - even called a few restaurants to see if the menu had fried oysters - we went with their recommendation Anthony's Pier 66 - great food - great view. Read more

Quick taxi ride from the train station. Front desk was very plesant and friendly. Got a USA today upon arrival and snacks in the room were actually free! The room is basic but everything you need. They are well taken care of as well. A little small but we spent most of our time out and about in Seattle. We will back for sure.

Parking was difficult. The pass was laminated so you couldn't hang it on the rear view mirror & as a result I was ticketed 3 times & had to take time to go to the city and resolve. The Belltown Inn surprised us with its exceedingly friendly staff and convenient location in the heart of downtown Seattle. From Belltown, we were able to walk to all over downtown, drive to the nearby Seattle Art Museum Sculpture park on the waterfront, score some fabulous 45s (records for you digital folks) from Singles Going Steady, and enjoy food […] from a nearby French bakery. There were many convenience stories and lovely coffee shops in the area. We were able to see the Sound from our 5th story room. Only two drawbacks - noisy guests/residents who awoke me at 2:00 p.m. (that's 3:00 a.m. before the time change) and a bed that could use replacing. The location of the hotel was great for many walking sites and it is conveniently located in the free bus zone and link rail - very convenient. The hotel staff was great and the hotel was well kept. Previous reviews stated the lower outside was kind of noisy to new activity/bars on the streets but with a requested inner courtyard room we didn't have […] any problem. The price was great but was a little worried about not having air conditioning.
