Downtown Seattle stretches along Puget Sound from historic Pioneer Square in the south to trendy Belltown in the north. In between, office towers, shopping gallerias, and brick condos line the leafy avenues. The convention center is here, as is Pike Place Market, where salmon fly. Don't miss the futuristic main library. Seattle's twin stadiums and the International District lie south of downtown.

Will stay here again. Great location, nice room, everything!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Not a typical hotel or room. This is a boutique hotel situated above a fantastic restaurant. The room was well appointed with very comfortable leather couch and chair and hi-end tech equipment. The room was large and quiet. The location is great - lots of good quality restaurants and shopping nearby. No frig or microwave, however there is a coffee maker […] in the room. Loved the hotel! "Great rooms and comfy bed, but . . ."
We loved the location, room and incredibly comfortable bed at the Inn at El Gaucho. But, there is no elevator that is accessible to the public. This meant we had to haul our very heavy bags (full of samples for a business trip) up and down the stairs a lot. If you are traveling light, or not on a tight schedule where you can wait for the staff to move […] luggage up and down via their unseen elevator, this place would be perfect. "Welcoming environment"
I stay at this hotel all the time when I'm in Seattle and really appreciate the small touches. The lights are on when you enter the room for the first time, the radio is playing music, chocolate chip cookies await you and they have good quality shower gel/shampoos etc. Street parking is not normally a problem and it is free at night. There is also a […] great bakery across the street for coffee in the morning. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Dinner and a Hotel"
A short trip to Seattle and I wanted to also go see the King Tut exhibit. This hotel was within walking distance (could leave my rental car in the hotel until heading to airport). Additional benefit is El Gausho (the restaurant). One of the best steak houses in the US. I could eat dinner, then walk upstairs to my room. Although they no longer supply […] a bottle of water in the room (for free), they do have nice choclate chip cookies. The bathroom decor was a bit dated, though. "if you are hip and don't mind glitches"
Nice little Inn in hip Belltown with very helpful staff, saddled by too-cheap wi-fi provider who doesn't service on weekends (outage lasted at least four days) and old air conditioners strained when they are really needed. 30 stairs up to the lobby (old folks beware), beds are too soft, and it needs more power outlets for today's travelers. But the […] neighborhood is great and the lobby is comfy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"An excellent find!"
The Inn at El Gaucho was a great find. The staff was very helpful, the room was clean and spacious. The restaurant was amazing. Next time I hope to see a movie in the theater. I look forward to staying there again soon.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great boutique hotel"
Excellent location - if you like the East Village (NY) you will love Belltown. Great decor - service - and great room service from one of Seattle's best restaurants that is right below ( a litle pricey). Please do not stay here because I want to have a room here whenever I come to Seattle. One drawback - no elevator - but that is a tiny gripe - and […] it certainly would not deter me for one instant from returning. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"YES!"
Starbucks coffee every morning, right on 1st Avenue, great restaurants, so close to the river and markets and center of the city, water and apples at night, cute and friendly staff, cable, great bathroom products, wood blinds...I was very happy...There for a national conference, was the envy of colleagues.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Yeah, would probably go there again."
I had a Belltown Jr. Suite with the window to the atrium. Pros: Nice room and furniture, good internet access, coffe and tea for free. Good bed. Wide range of TV and radio stations. Excelent steak restaurant. Helpful staff. Cons: Problems with remote of the ventilator. No breakfast. Noise from wending machine next to my room. Noisy AC. One morning […] there was strong smell from the restaurant, like there was burning something. I had to get up, open the window, run the AC and ventilator to clean the air. It happend only once during my week stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely small central hotel with very spacious room."
In Seattle for a week on business. Picked this and very happy. Great bed, spacious room with sofa, stereo, two big windows that open!, a good bathroom, desk area, free fast wifi and relaxed friendly staff. No restaurant but above a very nice steakhouse and loads of delicious bakeries, bars and restaurants. This area is between the Pike Place Market […] waterfront and the Space Needle. Just a short walk from the larger hotels downtown. No gym but good jogging routes through waterfront / sculpture park etc. Very much recommend for business, or pleasure. Great find. "Nice, clean boutique hotel in a fun area"
If you're looking for a fun boutique experience, this is it. The Inn at El Gaucho is small, intimate and located in a fun neighborhood within walking distance of the waterfront and renowned Pike Place Market. Int eresting entrance next to the doors of the restaurant. and up two flights of stairs. No elevator. Nice cozy lobby for a boutique hotel. I tried checking in at 2:30pm but the room wasn't avaiable. When I came back from dinner the room was ready buy my bags had not been put into the room as promised. Other than these minor inconviences the room was […] a corner junior suite with a learther couch and chair flat screeen TV, hidden desk area, comfy robes, and very comfortable bed. "Inn at El Gaucho- Seattle"
Small hotel with excellent ammenities. Perfect location- walking distance to Pike St. Market, Spaceneedle, museums and several good restaurants nearby, including great steak house right on the premises. I booked this hotel as it was within 3 blocks of the water front and the Bell Convention Center. I was a bit worried that I didn't see outside pictures, but don't let that stop you. "Don't try to nickel and dime like most hotels"
I stayed at the Inn at El Gaucho recently on a business trip to Seattle. Nice well appointed rooms, my single queen had a nice couch and desk area. The usual cheapo clock radio was replaced with a Bose Sound Wave unit which gave me the feeling I was staying in an upscale place. Free water and cookies in the room and a free fruit and iced tea in the […] lobby. The warm color pallet and subdued lighting in the halls gave it a warm cozy feel. Great location, and great room until I looked for my glasses and instead found glasses that belonged to someone else! "Charming Belltown Boutique Hotel"
The El Gaucho is a unique small hotel. The rooms have a strong design aesthetic...stylish yet very comfortable. "The Inn at El Gaucho - not your ordinary hotel"
With only 20 rooms or so, do not expect a grand foyer or pool. Do expect a unique experience in a great location. The rooms are comfy and VERY quiet. The best part is the El Gaucho Steakhouse on the first floor. Go for happy hour from 5 to 7 and you will be amazed at the appetizers and even the burger (which are all half price). Later in the evening […] you can go to the theater in the basement and watch a first run movie with an adult beverage! I would stay here again without question. "Could be great. Instead was just.....eh."
I've been to Seattle three times in as many weeks, staying at the Inn at El Gaucho each time (a total of seven nights over the three and a half week period). I came back the second time because I liked the service, location, and charm (and the very comfy beds!) the first time. The fact that you're upstairs from a great steakhouse is a bonus. However, […] it's the third time and I can't say I'll make a point to stay here again. It seems a little funny when the staff at the restaurant downstairs - which I've visited three times - remembers and welcomes me back, but the 16-room boutique hotel staff doesn't acknowledge that I've ever been here before and is almost painstakingly unwelcoming. Not rude, just not welcoming. They certainly aren't obligated to acknowledge my return visits, but one does kind of expect that sort of welcome at a "boutique" hotel. "OK, I guess"
The only real problem is the passivity and indifference of the staff. Only 1 out of 5 staff we interacted with made even a show of being helpful. I love Belltown and liked our room, but am not at all confident in this hotel's service. I might return if the price was right, but probably more likely to look for something better.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel The Inn at El Gaucho - C'è di meglio"
L'hotel si trova in un quartiere carino pieno di ristoranti e non molto lontano dal centro di Seattle. Camera spaziosa ma due elementi negativi rilevanti: odore di fogna sgradevole e un piano di scale per raggiungere le camere.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Inn at El Gaucho, Seattle : Très bien situé"
