With about 40,000 students, the University of Washington is the area's lifeblood. The campus includes a world-class medical center, the Burke Museum, and Henry Art Gallery. UW's main square offers a clear view of Mount Rainier. West of UW, a Lenin statue watches over Fremont, which bills itself as “The Center of the Universe.” Fremont's low-rise shops and cafés resemble Berkeley and Old New York.see all hotels in Seattle

Nice rooms but service was not great and they did not have any LOTION! I had to ask for a hairdryer...not supplied in room. Overall, great experience for the $. 2Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Horrible neighbor room and no action by the hotel"
This hotel is very conveniently located and rooms are nice with great views. But we had crazy neighbors banging the door all night, drank and shouting. Many of us called the reception but no action was taken, till 6am next morning, when the security finally evicted them. But we did not get sleep!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Walls too thin"
We had a corner room with a great view of downtown Seattle and the Space Needle. The bed was very comfortaable and although the bathroom is quite small, it is doable. Decor of the hotel is fun. We have only two criticisms. First, the walls are paper thin. We were in town for the Husky/Duck football game and as can be expected, there was a lot of partying. […] That being said, it sounded like the party next door was in our room and even though we asked them to tone it down, the sound level went right backup after 10 minutes or so. Secondly, the hotel was quite full and they only had one person taking orders and waiting on tables in The District during the breakfast hour. A second server finally showed up but this was after we had already been sitting there for quite some time. The location of the hotel is perfect for any events on the campus and there are lots of small, interesting restaurants in the neighborhood although nothing in the "fine" dining range. All in all, our experience was positive and we will book in the next time the Ducks play in Seattle. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location of hotel was very close to our activities"
It was ok, the room was very small, the bathroom was even smaller. The shower head was not attached to the wall and the soap/shampoo dispenser was also not attached, both had broken away from the caulking. The ceiling had had a leak, it was repaired but not painted in the bedroom area. Parking was available and very easy, not a hassle at all. The location […] was very good, near the university, we were able to walk wherever we needed to. The front desk was helpful and pleasant. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The room we stayed in was very small. It is a nice hotel in a cool neighborhood. I don't think the guy at the front desk knew what he was doing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel in Seattle"
The hotel was in a great location! Easy access to highways. The rooms were quite small, but we were not in the room that much, anyway. The carpet had a dark stain, which should have been cleaned properly. The staff was good and knowledgable. The elevator required a card to access our floor, which was an inconvenience. The restaurant had limited offerings, […] but at least they had some food available. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to University of Washington"
The hotel was adequate. The room was very small and the bathroom was extremely small. The hotel didn't provide body lotion, mouthwash etc. which was surprising. It is best described as "meh". The room was too expensive for what it featured. I have booked into the Ritz Carlton through Expedia for a similar price.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Located in the U district"
Things I liked about the hotel: I chose this hotel because of the location being close to the U district and to where my son lives. The room we were in (1 king bed) was a pretty good size. Not cramped. I like the decor. The bed was comfy as were the pillows. We were on the 15th floor and the view was nice. There was easy access to the hotel and parking […] lot. The late check out time was nice (Noon). No need to rush your morning. The rooms were quiet. I didn't hear the people next to us talking, flushing toilets or showering. I didn't even hear the water running when my roomie was showering. Things I didn't like about the hotel: even though there was free wifi you could only connect one device at a time, and it was slow. I didn't like the $16 parking fee / per day. And the parking was not secure. I never saw a porter / bellhop. Or a security guard. The elevators - even though there were 2 - were very small and we were often crammed in like sardines. And the staff had to use the same elevators. Many times we would be stopped at a floor because the maids needed to get on (they didn't because the elevator was full. But I would not have liked riding the elevator with the maid / janitor who was bringing down many bags of trash or a cart full of dirty linen). Water pressure truly sucked! No continental breakfast - not even muffins and coffee. The TV channels were hardly premium. There weren't very many and on about half - the reception was poor. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Tired Deca, but close to U District"
The Deca probably has seen better days and doesn't feel like a luxury hotel. The room felt dingy and the bathroom hadn't had a deep clean in a while (grout and caulk lines were pretty gross). But, there was a huge event in Seattle the night before and maybe they weren't able to scrub the rooms like normal in order to turn them around for guests. I'll […] give them the benefit of the doubt because the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The location also was perfect for anyone visiting the University of Washington or nearby. It's a solid 5/5 on staff and location, but sadly closer to a 2 or 3/5 on everything else. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small rooms for the price"
Room was clean (halls were dirty) and decorated nicely, but very tiny with no amenities. This is honestly the smallest hotel room we've ever stayed in and we travel a lot! For the price, this hotel needs to offer a lot more. Older hotel and walls are thin. We could here other guests talking. Good location (literally right next to the university) and […] withing walking distance to a lot of restaurants. We would stay here again if the price was cheaper, but definitely not worth it for the money. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Average place at a High Cost."
I was very surprised to find out that they charge for parking now. It was not mentioned in the advertisement and I probably wont stay there again. The hotel itself is nothing to brag about and the only good thing about it is the location. For what they charge, a customer should get more for their money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Room Not Ready upon arrival"
Stayed in a Junior Suite. Payed in advance. Sleeper couch was to be used. Was not ready. Had to call the front desk to get linens for the bed. Then comforter was not brought. Had to order it. Pillow stored in closet dirty. Not enough towels in room. Bathrooms do not have fans. Mirrors fog up. This may cause mold issues in an old hotel such as this one. […] Overall love the hotel. "Room wasn't what I paid for"
I paid for a King bed for a romantic getaway with my husband. We have a plush queen bed at home and was looking forward to a bit more space, but ended up getting two "queen" (more like "full") beds with a larger room. After calling the front desk to inquire, I was told that we received a "complimentary upgrade" to a larger room. The room was beautiful […] and spacious, with a perfect view of the Space Needle. But we ended up sleeping in separate beds for lack of sleeping space. Very romantic, right? Movies were not available either, and was told at 1AM to come down and check out some DVD's for free. The Hotel is beautiful, staff could be more accommodating, but we won't be back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient neighborhood to WSU and family."
The people who work the desk at the Hotel Decca were friendly, knowledgable and helpful. while the waiter we had downstairs for breakfast was aloof to the point of being rude. "Booked King bed, received a Full-size."
We stayed at Hotel Deca this past Easter because it my wife's birthday, and we stayed there exactly the same day four years ago while we were dating. We didn't have to stay in your hotel as we now live in Seattle - we just wanted to celebrate our special day together at the "old" place. However, we can't say the stay exceeded our expectations. We booked […] a King-sized bed just like we did four years ago, but upon checking in we were informed that the only room left was a studio with a full-sized bed. Without any other choice, we accepted the room, slept in the small bed (we have a much larger bed at home). We were still happy as we had a good time together. I hope you can make this right for us - otherwise, to be honest, we don't see any reason to come back to this hotel if the bed type cannot be guaranteed. Thank you very much! "super comfortable beds"
Very very comfortable beds the decor was comfortable and modern the rooms were definitely small. service was friendly and helpful and when we asked for an extra rollaway bed we were given a double queen room for no extra cost. tully's coffee downstairs has excellent coffee but the pastries were stale and bland. the hotel is in the university district […] which unfortunately means a lot of grunge buildings and homeless people the one good thing about being in this area is that you can get a lot of cheap good eats. highly recommend pam's kitchen carribean food (as seen on diner's drive-ins, and dives). We usually Stay at the Silver Cloud Stadium but decided to try something else for our anniversary trip. We were very disappointed in this hotel. It seems like it was a University of Washington dorm converted to a hotel. The bathroom is tiny and has no fan to clear out the steam after a shower. There was visible mold above the shower that was cleaned […] up but still spotty. They had a soap and shampoo dispenser poorly placed so you had to stand sideways in the shower. The dispenser was mounted to the wall right next to your shoulders instead of being opposite the shower head on the opposite wall where it would not interfere with your shoulders. The windows in the tiny room would not open so there was no escaping the shower steam anywhere in the room. The t.v. is poorly placed right next to the bed so you have to lay sideways on the bed to watch t.v. I could not find an ice machine to speak of. Our view outside was of the construction going on across the parking lot. We will not stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Expensive Hotel with parking issues"
This hotel was selected for its location and apparent quality. The hotel is fine. Their parking leaves a lot to be desired. The lot is public and guests do not have reserved spaces which are controlled by the hotel. Staff was never that helpful. Quick to say no and not offer other solutions. For example, they didn't have chocolate milk. I asked the guy if he had syrup he could mix in the white milk. "Served its purpose"
This hotel served its purpose as a clean place to sleep but not much else. The front desk service was very good. "Great decor, but needs attention"
I stayed at Hotel Deca for a week on business. The location is great, but some things need work. For starters, the bathroom in my room had a moldy/musty smell and I had major problems with the Wi-fi dropping my connection. Also, the parking lot was not dedicated to the hotel, so not only did I have to pay $12 a day to park, I wasn't guaranteed a parking […] spot. One day I had to drive around for 20 minutes waiting for one to open up. I liked the decor of the hotel and room, but not sure I would stay here on business again. "Hotel Deca -- overpriced for an aging hotel"
My daughter and I stayed at the Hotel Deca due to its convenient location to the University of Washngton campus. We got a large room with a view of the Space Needle. However, we soon learned that the hotel's aging infrastructre compromised the hotel's value for the money. Because the hotel is old, it can only either have air conditioning or heat on […] throughout the hotel. So, stays in the Spring and Fall (when the temperature fluctuates) are problematic. Our room was stuffy and hot. Luckily, the weather outside was cold, so we opened the windows to cool the room down in order to be able to sleep. (We were there in April.) We couldn't keep them open all night because the traffic outside is very noisy. But, we could cool the room down and then we closed them in order to sleep. In addition, the walls are very thin. When in the bathroom in particular, you can easily hear and understand conversations going on in the bathroom next door. Finally, we had to take a lukewarm shower one morning out of three. It was a bit nerve-wracking wondering whether your shower was going to be warm enough on any given morning. On a positive note, the staff are efficient and friendly and the location is in the middle of the University District. But, the aging infrastructure is not worth the price. I will definitely stay somewhere else on my next trip to Seatle. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Average at best"
Too many college kids partying in the hotel when we were there. Walls are fairly thin. Didn't have much hot water - about enough for 1.5 showers in the morning. Probably okay if there's nothing better near the college, but the place has seen better days.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Our one serious complaint was the housekeeping - the bed was made and the bathroom tidied but there was no effort at cleaning the room. "A bit over priced, but nice hotel"
The staff was friendly and general areas had nice decor. The room was a bit dated with attempts at modernization. Beds were acceptable. We had the junior suite and the in-room sofa bed was utilized often and therefore reflected in comfort. The king size bed in the room was clean (no evidence of bed bugs) and comfortable but my wife felt it was cold. Washrooms […] could use a make-over. There was difficulty finding plugs in the room. Location was rather shady so venturing out of the area on foot is questionable. Distance to downtown was convenient and was easy to navigate. Overall a nice hotel, but the price for the room wasn't really worth it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"OK if you don't need internet and want University area"
The location is good if you want to be near the University, the bed was comfortable, room clean, etc. BUT the free wireless, which was a big selling point for the hotel, never worked, and even the wired connection worked only for about 3 hours out of 3 days. Was a hardship for me as I actually needed to get some work done that required internet access. […] I was worried the room would be loud because I faced the main intersection, with a club etc., but it wasn't bad (I was on the 7th floor, and presumably even higher would be better). The staff were friendly and dealt with a water main break as well as they could (this was the city's fault, not theirs), but it was disappointing that they never fixed the internet and never really seemed to acknowledge that it would be a problem. If you don't need internet and want to be near the University, it's a nice place to stay. They even have free local shuttle service, but you have to book it in advance or it won't be available. Ein schönes Hotel, allerdings sollte man nicht die Sky-Etage buchen. Im 15. Stock ist der Wasserdruck beim Duschen minimal, und die Aussicht ist bei den meisten Zimmern deutlich beeinträchtigt.
