With about 40,000 students, the University of Washington is the area's lifeblood. The campus includes a world-class medical center, the Burke Museum, and Henry Art Gallery. UW's main square offers a clear view of Mount Rainier. West of UW, a Lenin statue watches over Fremont, which bills itself as “The Center of the Universe.” Fremont's low-rise shops and cafés resemble Berkeley and Old New York.

"Gem in U District"
After staying in other area hotels, we have found a new U District fave. The continental breakfast is just that, but Portage Bay Café, attached to University Inn is to die for. Rooms were clean and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Walking distance for campus, "The Ave", and a wide range of dining and shopping options. Free parking, etc etc […] etc. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Home away from home."
Stayed 1 night while visiting U of W. Interacted with hotel staff several times and each time was pleasant and helpful. Rented a room with 2 queen beds and it was large and comfortable. We never heard any sound from other guests but the sound of horns from boats on the water woke us up in the morning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Front desk was extremely helpful and friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great access to all the great sights!"
Perfect location for our week-long stay in Seattle. It was close enough to downtown, the eastside, and major highways!Genuine Expedia guest review
"The place to stay when visiting UW"
As well as being comfortable and convenient to visit the University of Washington, the University Inn shows its concern about the environment in thoughtful ways, including having soap dispensers, not soap bars, in the bathroom, and recycling as well as trash bins in the room. It also provide free car parking. Also on a reasonably quiet street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"University District Gem"
I stayed at the University Inn in Seattle for three nights recently. It was perfect for me, and the price affordable. The only item lacking in my room was a radio that I could easily figure out.. Everything else was way above average. Their breakfast buffet was excellent! The staff was about the most friendly and helpful that I have ever experienced […] in the USA. Top-notch place. Another benefit is that one is close to many bus lines that go throughout the entire area. I, travelling by myself, was able to get to and from Sea-Tac Airport using light rail and the bus. Seattle has a great public transit system. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to mass-transit, very hospitable"
I stayed here while on Residency Interviews and this met all of my needs. Close to UWash Hospital, easy bus ride to Swedish, Virginia Mason Harborview and Northgate. Hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating. Helped me navigate public transit. The free shuttle service was very nice. While there was no gym in the hotel itself there was one in the […] sister hotel one block away. Free coffee and tea all day plus breakfast was a very nice perk. Room nice and clean and eco-friendly! It is within walking distance to the University of Washington, with a lot of eating places a couple of blocks away. Handy to I - 5. There are a couple of suites at the end that have views of the Space Needle and Mt Ranier.Genuine Expedia guest review

"great place, bad breakfast"
We needed to be at the University for medical appointments. This place is very convenient and comfortable. We will stay again. The breakfast is pretty poor but there is a fantastic breakfast place about 50 feet away from the front door. Great service, kind people and would recommend to anyone needing a hotel in the areaGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient and clean"
The University Inn is a modest business hotel and serves the purpose well. Includes parking (very important in this neighborhood) and breakfast with Starbucks coffee. A free shuttle allows access to many Seattle attractions and medical centers without the hassle of driving. This neighborhood is great during the day, but use caution after dark.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Visit to my Daughter"
The hotel had a nice breakfast, coffee and tea at all times, complimentary bottled water in the room. Wifi was free and convenient. Everything was fine. Just a little far from Greek Row where my daughter lives.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best hotel in the "U" district"
We stayed in the new wing and it was so clean and modern. The room was facing the street on the second floor and we couldn't hear the traffic. The beds were extremely comfortable with 4 plump pillows each. All the staff were friendly and helpful. There really isn't any drawbacks as far as I can tell.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A great value close to UW"
The University Inn is very similar to it's "sister" hotel the Watertown, though a bit funkier. The Watertown feels a bit more upscale, while the University Inn is a bit more youthful and fun. My room was compact but comfortable, clean and quiet. Staff is young, friendly and helpful. Nice free breakfast included with cereal, bagels, toast, yogurt, coffee, […] juice, fruit. They have free Starbucks and tea in the lobby 24/7, which I really appreciated, along with a Keurig coffee/tea maker in the room. There is a small parking lot, but they do charge for parking. I look forward to staying here on my next trip. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"great family hotel, excellently priced"
Convenient continental breakfast, friendly staff, great location. No frills hotel for a great price.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Almost Perfect!"
A very clean, comfortable, and quiet hotel. The beds were more comfortable than most other hotels. The linens were high quality. Big fluffy towels. Surprisingly quiet considering we were on the second floor with our window facing Roosevelt. My only issue is that we were not able to connect to Wi-Fi because of some problem they were having. Even with […] a router supplied by the front desk, we couldn't connect. Also, they should put a TV channel guide in the rooms. Otherwise, a great place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
