"5th Ave., Downtown, Seattle & cruise the next day."
I was initially a bit unhappy. We landed in Seattle and I had reservations through Hotels.com at another hotel. The person I made the reservation with got the date right, but the month wrong. I called Hotels.com and received a FULL refund, plus a 20% discount for booking with them right then. Because the Hotels.com representative was so kind from the […] get-go, I didn't hesitate. We chose another hotel because we both felt like we could have gotten better coordination of service at the hotel we initially presented ourselves to. We made it to downtown and the folks at the Red Lion Hotel were great! From the minute we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and asked if there was anything else they could do for us. Our room was on the 15th floor with a beatiful view of the harbor. The room was perfectly clean, dust free, no funny odors. Underneath the beds were clean and freshly vacuumed. Bathroom was immaculate. Plenty of supplies throughout. The beds were very clean and comfortable. They had room service and a dining room, but we decided to walk around and dine at the famous Pikes Brewing Company in Seattle, but I have a feeling the food and service was great right there at the Red Lion. We left the next day for the cruise port and a lovely ride was arranged very promptly through the hotel for a reasonable rate. "Our bags were unzipped/searched while stored!"
The worst thing that happened was our suitcases were unzipped and searched after check-out, while they were supposed to be locked for safekeeping by the Red Lion Hotel. When we mentioned it to the attendant, he just shrugged and didn't say a word! Luckiily, we had kept all of our valuables in our handbags for the afternoon, so it appears as though no […] personal articles were stolen. The thieve(s) were so careless they didn't bother to zip the bags back up. This was so unsettling that despite the great location, we will never stay or recommend this hotel again. Back to the beginning, we arrived late in the evening, tired and hungry. Red Lion front desk staff provided us the names and locations of two nearby restaurants, both of which told us there kitchens were closed. Another hotel in the area referred us to an italian restaurant that delivered. We then noticed that our refrigerator wasn't working. Red Lion front desk offered to move us, which worked. During our stay of three nights, housekeeping didn't show up on day two, which we decided was ok since it saved us the daily housekeeping tip, although, it meant that for two of the three mornings in our room we didn't have decaf coffee. The last day we had water problems, air in the lines and the toilet not filling up, etc. Other than the location, the Garden Terrace staff was the best thing about this hotel! "Centrally Located, But Lacking a Little"
Great location. Easy walking to distance to most tourist attractions in Seattle. My only disappointment was the tepid water. I like a *hot* shower. The water never got past warm. "Waiting for check in"
Hotel was in a great location, easy walk to all attractions. We arrived early and found a lobby full of people, check in was 3:00 pm we waited and waited and I finally confronted the assistant Manager who explained they are busy. Nice hotel in central location. Friendly staff and Mark (Bell Captain) was very helpful. My father was using crutches and after talking to Mark about our plans for the day he was able to get us a wheel chair to use for the day. My two daughters and I spent a week at the Red Lion on 5th Avenue to get out of Alaska. I have stayed at several hotels in and around Seattle and found our stay at the Red Lion to be the best so far. The location is perfect for walking to most of downtown Seattle. The room was nice and the staff was very friendly, the only real negative was that the room was too warm for sleeping comfortably, even with the thermostat at the coldest setting. This hotel is close to everything! No need to rent a car and pay the extra for parking, you can walk to everything, and take cabs for the rest. "The Red Lion in Seattle- Very Cold"
Our hotel room #902 did not have any heat. I called 4 different times and went down to the front desk to request service. Each time they sent the engineers up to fix the heat. Each time they did the exact same thing and the heat NEVER came on. No one ever checked back with us to see if the heat was working properly or at all.
