Downtown Seattle stretches along Puget Sound from historic Pioneer Square in the south to trendy Belltown in the north. In between, office towers, shopping gallerias, and brick condos line the leafy avenues. The convention center is here, as is Pike Place Market, where salmon fly. Don't miss the futuristic main library. Seattle's twin stadiums and the International District lie south of downtown.see all hotels in Seattle

The Hotel was clean and very affordable!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything is outdated but everything was clean. The TV did not have many channels, but it did have ESPN.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Let's be honest: this place isn't a five-star luxury hotel. It's a little hotel in downtown that could use some (read: quite a bit) renovating. That being said, it's a great place to stay if all you need is a pillow to put your head on for a couple nights. There isn't any internet service in your room (there might be some in the lobby, but I never needed […] to find out, being able to do everything I needed to do from my phone), the building shows its age, and the elevator is just down right creepy. I'm not sure whether the front desk attendants know anything about the area because I never needed to ask them. You're within a 5 minute walk of the Seattle Aquarium (go here), Pikes Place Market (Definitely go here) and the Seattle Monorail (use this to get to the Seattle Center). Those last 3 reasons were reason enough for me to stay here. You're also within 10 minutes walking distance of the Amtrak station at King Street. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old n' Affordable"
(-) Not having Wi-Fi and not having a stand to place anything on in the bathroom was pretty annoying but there is a Starbucks with free Wi-Fi right next door. (+) Room service kept the room clean and it was fun transporting back in time with the extremely vintage comforter, wallpaper, carpet, furniture, elevator, etc. Regale your friends with stories […] of the mysterious door to "Room 487" in the stairwell--management doesn't know what lies behind it! We have stayed twice here and it mainly cause of location. Last time ice machine was down, internet only works in the lobby. The breakfast lounge in the basement is awsome food for great price. Park on street after 5pm for 12 bucks good till 10am in morning, free on sunday. There is a lot 1 block down that has all day if in berfore 9 and out by 6 for […] 12 bucks. Great location. Bedding needs updating and not much counter space in the bathroom, if that is needed. NO WIFI on the floors, only in the lobby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great One Night Stand"
I have spend one night stays at Hotel Seattle for the past two years both times in July. The staff is friendly and resourceful despite being busy. I checked my bags early in the morning as checkin for the roomwas not until later, this allowed me to go sight seeing. The staff informed me where to us the Light Rail to travel to Sea Tac airport, this saved […] a considerable expense. The hotel and room was as others have described. There is no ac, no screens on the windows, and no restraints on the windows. The room was cool in the evening so I was able to close the windows to shut out the city noise. The pillows would not soften up despite left and right jabs and not even an upper cut had any impact. Muhammed Ali would be envious of the pillows rope-a-dope tactic. Otherwise, the room was clean and acceptable. The location is EXCELLENT and the low price met my budgetary needs. The fellow guests were quiet and respectful. The public library is right around the corner with many resources and I had a helpful staff person assist me. The hotel met my modest needs and since I was traveling solo I made do. "Basic room on the cheap"
Front Desk very personable and willing to find and discuss where to dine. Room had TV and ice bucket. No additional extras but I did not expect any. Easy walk to public transportation. Older building but clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Clearly an aging hotel but perfectly adequate if you don't mind no frills.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to all must see sights"
We were greeted warmly by staff, noticed age of hotel but clean and tidy. Our room was clean and pleasant with a comfortable bed. The toilet paper holder was missing. We were unable to plug our hair dryer in the bathroom. The location was excellent and the price OK. The restaurant downstairs was very agreeable with friendly service and an excellent […] breakfast at a very good price. We were pleased by our stay and would do it again. "Was very happy!!"
I was very happy with Hotel Seattle. After reading the reviews I was expecting a real dump. Not so.... It is a little run down, yet its an old building. The vending machines didn't work so we had to walk down the street to get a pop, but that was the only downfall, nice and clean and didn't even hear the traffic at night. The location is great, in walking […] distance to everything. Will definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"great bargain for the location"
The lack of air conditioning would probably be a negative in the summer, but we were there in May, and we could open the window a bit. It reminded me of an older European hotel. The price made it an exceptional value for the location right downtown. The desk clerk gave us some tips of where to go and stored our luggage in a locked room so we could roam […] the city before checking time. A noon checkout time the next day was ideal. I would not stay there in the hot summer months, but it was a great place to stay for us. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Just a few blocks from the market"
It was a good experience, the staff was helpful and polite. The hotel is a little older, but the stay was quiet and comfortable, and quite a deal as well as close to local attractions.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel Seattle is old, but in a kind of cool way. When I saw the below average ratings of the hotel I was nervous; However, it is a perfectly find hotel. Everything was clean and in order. There are some quarks such as the water temperature varying, but nothing to be worried about. I thought that it was a good experience to be in an older hotel (with […] real keys for the doors!) especially at such a low rate! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Clean no-nonsense accomodations"
Suited me just fine for a night in Seattle. It was one of the least expensive hotels around, and all I needed was a comfortable place to stay for business. Sure, it ain't the Ritz, but I wasn't looking for a honeymoon suite, and it was clean, matter of fact, and very centrally located, while still quiet and clean. VERY simple hotel, which makes it cheaper than EVERYTHING else in that area. It's within walking distance of the Showbox and Pike Place Market, which is why we stayed. The rooms are a little old and pretty mediocre but clean and well kept. The staff is friendly and helpful. Location is amazing: just a minutes walk to pikes, the aquarium, and the waterfront. "Very good value considering its central location."
Excellent location to all the different venues, including transportation around the city. There was no air conditioning and the 3 days we were there were a bit muggy. A fan would have been nice. Our room was very clean. The carpet seam in the middle of the room was ripped and there was a large sheet of peeling paint hanging from the ceiling. Also, some […] graffiti near a corner of the wall and ceiling. The desk clerks were very nice and helpful with transportation directions. "Delivers on inexpensive, plus a quirky charm"
Dont expect an inexpensive hotel to be grand or to compete out of its element. Hotel Seattle delivers a reasonable place for a quick stay at a very reasonable price. I found the hotel staff to be very helpful in my brief stay. ... Also, I got a really good breakfast downstairs in the 'restaurant.' The basement room doubles as a bar, and had a really […] cool feel of urban hideaway. Would like to have checked it out in the evening but didn't have a chance just passing through. "Good value for downtown location."
I spent 8 nights. Not having internet in the rooms was the only frustration, but I did enjoy spending 'net-time' in the lobby. Otherwise, I found the place to be comfortably average. As my focus was not on living in a hotel, but attending business and pleasure outside, staying here was a good value to me.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good for overnight if cool weather"
I knew it was a older hotel, so I was not expecting newness. It was as advertised, comfortable bed, but clean with a good shower. Was surprised to find it was not air-conditioned, but it did not prove to be a problem even though it was 80-degrees in the day, the nights were cool. Great location! Good price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"liked the Hotel"
Was a good value, with great position to enjoy the city of Seattle, Walk to most of Seattle, and only one block from light rail, it is a waste of money to rent a car, You can go anywhere up and down the rail to 10 stations and the Airport, for $5.50 a day what a nice featureGenuine Expedia guest review
The room was clean, the front desk people were very polite and efficient, and the location is great! And the rate, in light of the location, was awesome. Yes, it hasn't been remodeled in ages, and no, I don't care, especially since the only thing I do in the hotel room is shower and sleep. The most important elements - the room being clean and the staff […] being polite and helpful - was spot on. If I wanted "fabulous" accommodations, I'd spend a lot more money. "Good value for your money"
This hotel was considerably cheaper than several others in the downtown Seattle area. Good things -- The location is superb, half a block from the University St. bus & train tunnel station. It's on a steep hillside. I walked to Pike Place Market, Washington State Convention Center, and Westlake Shopping Center in about ten minutes. The price couldn't […] be beat. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean. The room had four electrical outlets installed at the baseboards at accessible places, so I was able to charge my electronics easily. There is free Wifi in the lobby. I did not go to the restaurant in the basement. The hotel is older and the room was small by US standards (large by European city standards). Room was clean, but there were some small stains on the carpet. My room was on a corner on the 7th floor. I could hear some street noise, which was not loud enough to keep me awake, but I did not hear any noise from inside the hotel. Light sleepers should request a room away from the street. There was no clock and the phone didn't work. This was not a problem as I had my cell phone and used its alarm feature. TV had about ten channels. There was soap and shampoo provided in the bathroom and plenty of hot water. There are about 6 steps up to the lobby from the street, but I would guess that a person could avoid stairs by taking the elevator up from the restaurant. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Right where we needed to be"
We read all the reviews about this hotel saying how horrible it was but we decided to book it anyway. It was right by the downtown and a couple blocks from the showbox at the market. "Great central location"
Hotel Seattle is a great hotel for anyone who needs a place to sleep while checking out the great city of Seattle. Everything was clean, desite the age of the building. It was a smoking-allowed hotel in the past and unfortunately you can still smell it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
In contrast to some terrible other reviews I consider the hotel quite decent. Old but decent. Very conveniently located. The room was old but clean. The noise coming from outside was a bit high. Free WiFi access only from the downstairs lobby was an inconvenience. For $10 you can buy WiFi for your room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Affordable and close to the market!"
The staff was friendly and the hotel was neat and clean. The heater in my room was turned off, but was still giving off a significant amount of heat. I was lucky that it was a nice night out so I could sleep with window open and that helped moderate the temperature of the room. I loved that little restaurant downstairs with the music on friday night (two guys two guitars and Cleo bartending.) Only thing that could stand improvement is the old furniture in the room. "Best Value, NO DOUBT."
To all unfavorable reviewers I say: chill out. So it's an aging building. Adds character. I love the lived-in look and feel. I come through Seattle a lot on my way to Vancouver and there's no better value in the city for budget travelers (save for a hostel). No nonsense. Centrally located. Staff that is friendly but minds their own business. So the […] rooms have a slight musty odor. Crack a window! And on that note: the rooms have suicide windows! I like fresh air and the sounds of the city so I was pleasantly surprised to find windows that actually opened in the rooms. Bottom line: if you're a hotel lounger, this place will not suit you. If you're an explorer and just need a private place to shower and rest your head, save some money and check it out. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old, but convenient location, run down, but expected it!"
This place was built in the 30's and u can definitly tell that it was. It is in need of some serious updating, but kinda looks like they are doing some renovating on some floors...
