Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in downtown Seattle, Wash., boasts Italian Renaissance architecture. Decorated with hand-carved plaster work, 11 hues of yellow and a Chihuly glass collection, The Georgian boasts regional Northwestern cuisine including Tarragon Crusted Rabbit Loin and Cedar Plank Smoked King Salmon. Shuckers' seafood menu offers Dungeness Crab Cakes and Microwbrew Battered Fish and Chips. The Terrace provides specialty martinis and lighter fare accompanied by live piano music. A 12th floor business center contains computer stations and high-speed Internet access. The property's fitness club hosts saunas, a spa tub, an indoor pool with a covered solarium and a weight room, along with cardiovascular equipment with personal DVD players. The hotel features a full-service spa, Penelope The Beauty Bar, offering body and facial treatments, and a spa boutique. Retailers including Coach, the Jeremy Todd Wellness Spa and Salon and Gary Tipp Jewelers are located on the arcade level.

Embellished with traditional-style décor, the 450 guestrooms contain mahogany-finish furnishings, crown molding, textured wallpaper, upholstered chairs and accents in light blue and green or rose and gold. Sitting areas provide ottomans, armchairs and sofas, while bedding includes floral-covered duvets and down pillows. Bathrooms contain bathrobes, slippers and Penhaligon toiletries. Accommodations include cable television with premium channels, high-speed Internet access (surcharge), laptop-compatible in-room safes and video game consoles. Pets are permitted, and receive complimentary amenities including food and water dishes.

Shuckers - Upscale pub-style restaurant/bar. Seafood menu features live oysters, smoked salmon, Northwest clam chowder; Microbrew Battered Fish and Chips, Dungeness Crab Cakes, and Garlic and Rosemary Roasted Whole Dungeness Crab. Open daily.
The Terrace - Lobby lounge. Cocktails and lighter fare served. Extensive selection of specialty-martinis. Live piano entertainment. Open daily.

"Elegant Hotel"
Staff were very friendly. The hotel is elegant and tastefully decorated. We had problems with the room temperature and the door to the bedroom in our suite only offered visual and not aural separation. Beautiful hotel with quality service but I did not like that the business center where you had to pay for internet access. Very comfortable bed, furnishings, in a generous-sized room. Staff was attentive, efficient and pleasant. "The Fairmont Olympic hotel in Seattle"
Very close to all the major sights. Has excellent on-site eating facilities and is close to many outstanding nearby resturants. Rooms were very large with the bed to die for. The location was excellent for those taking in local galleries, markets, and shopping. I was a little disappointed there was no coffee or tea available in the rooms, but my friends really enjoyed the sauna and pool which were free of additional charge.
