    The Fairmont is a fantastic luxury hotel centrally located in downtown; it's perfect for folks who want to see the city as well as hometown boys like... me who want to escape with the wife and enjoy the fantastic dining options. My only (mild) compliant is that the flat-screen TVs are only connected to an analog source, so your viewing experience will not be nearly as sharp as the one at home. This lack of an HD signal is not enough to stop me from giving the Fairmont a 5-star review, but it did strike me as odd given the complementary wifi service in the rooms. by Connor  from Forest Grove, OR on 04/23/13

    Overview

    Location.
    Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in downtown Seattle, Wash., boasts Italian Renaissance architecture. The hotel is two blocks from Benaroya Hall and four blocks from shopping at Pacific Place. Complimentary Town Car service is provided within the downtown area.

    Hotel Features.
    Decorated with hand-carved plaster work, 11 hues of yellow and a Chihuly glass collection, The Georgian boasts regional Northwestern cuisine including Tarragon Crusted Rabbit Loin and Cedar Plank Smoked King Salmon. Shuckers' seafood menu offers Dungeness Crab Cakes and Microwbrew Battered Fish and Chips. The Terrace provides specialty martinis and lighter fare accompanied by live piano music. A 12th floor business center contains computer stations and high-speed Internet access. The property's fitness club hosts saunas, a spa tub, an indoor pool with a covered solarium and a weight room, along with cardiovascular equipment with personal DVD players. The hotel features a full-service spa, Penelope The Beauty Bar, offering body and facial treatments, and a spa boutique. Retailers including Coach, the Jeremy Todd Wellness Spa and Salon and Gary Tipp Jewelers are located on the arcade level.

    Guestrooms.
    Embellished with traditional-style décor, the 450 guestrooms contain mahogany-finish furnishings, crown molding, textured wallpaper, upholstered chairs and accents in light blue and green or rose and gold. Sitting areas provide ottomans, armchairs and sofas, while bedding includes floral-covered duvets and down pillows. Bathrooms contain bathrobes, slippers and Penhaligon toiletries. Accommodations include cable television with premium channels, high-speed Internet access (surcharge), laptop-compatible in-room safes and video game consoles. Pets are permitted, and receive complimentary amenities including food and water dishes.

    The stay overall was fantastic. We hit a slight bump but when it was brought to the attention of the hotel staff it was taken care of immediatly with a little extra for our inconvenience. The hotel was centrally located that allowed us to walk to many of the sights downtown or on the waterfront.

    The bed was a king sized bed on double box springs. I sleep next to my wife as you are suppose to and I had to sleep on a hard ridge where teh box springs came together. Needless to say, I got no sleep, woke with a back ache that I had for two days.     This is just several blocks away from the space needle.. gives a good reason to walk a little. The indoor pool/workout room is great. Valet was convenient and they were able to give me a couple more hours extra for my check out. The only CON i can say is the valet parking price.

The people were very friendly and had answers to everything, even directions to the closest Walgreens because I left my flat iron at home :) The only thing that we would have like were some more modern amenities.     If you want the drapes closed you have to cover the AC vent. I'm not sure this problem is in other rooms.

    Very easy to get from SeaTac airport for just a few dollars by train. The hotel was just a short block or two away. Walking distance to Pike's Market place to see "flying" fish. Chuhuly glass displays within walking distance. Even going to Tacoma by bus a couple of blocks away was just a few dollars to the Museum of Glass.

    Our first time in Seattle. Hotel is in a wonderful and central location...many places of interest, great shops and restaurants easy to walk to. The pool, jacuzi and fitness center at the hotel were lovely! Staff was always pleasant and helpful. Only complaints: Bed was a little too soft for our liking. Biggest complaint: Occasionally, we gladly pay […] extra to splurge on a fantastic hotel. I can't get over why some 4 and 5 star hotels charge a significant amount every 24 hours for internet use. Seems like this should definitely be included in the price of the hotel. On the bright side, there is a Starbucks on every block where internet is free. However, they close at 8:00 pm, and sometimes we had to use our computers for work past then. That was an inconvenience. As much as we liked the hotel, next time we will probably try to find one where internet is free if we have to work while away. Read more

    My wife and I were looking for a nice hotel in downtown Seattle to celebrate our anniversary. The Fairmont exceeded our expectations. It was a very wonderful facility with extremely kind and attentive staff. We would highly recommend.

    Got a great deal so we booked a one-night stay for our anniversary. The hotel & room were very nice but a little too stuffy for us. Next time we will probably stay at a more trendy hotel.

    So glad after many years of visiting the Fairmont, the classic old Olympic Hotel, That the room, service, health club and general condition were as good as, if not better than ever. Great corner room at a reasonable cost, great concierge, all great. It is the great classic Seattle Hotel.
