Downtown Seattle stretches along Puget Sound from historic Pioneer Square in the south to trendy Belltown in the north. In between, office towers, shopping gallerias, and brick condos line the leafy avenues. The convention center is here, as is Pike Place Market, where salmon fly. Don't miss the futuristic main library. Seattle's twin stadiums and the International District lie south of downtown.

Tiny room and so noisy my earplugs and night mask still made it hard to sleep. So tiny my husband and I could hardly move around. More like a ships stateroom with the sink and toilet in one small closet and the shower in another closet. Otherwise hotel lovely and staff wonderful but I would not stay there again nor recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent boutique hotel"
The room was small but well appointed and very comfortable. Only downside to it was that it is on the edge of downtown so there's quite a walk to shops and restaurants, etc.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Location and value"
We were happy with this stylish hotel and very friendly/attentive staff. Turned the challenge of the small bathroom into entertainment value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I love the sushi bar in the lobby! The down side to the place is that they charged $33 for overnight parking when many places around the area were charging way less for overnight or a garage would just charge you hourly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent Service in an Excellent Seattle Location"
The staff was very friendly, personable, and helpful. They are quick and accurate with directions if you need them. The room was smallish, but comfortable. Everything was clean and well kept. The only issue we had is with the elevators. They are slow and small, and the staff must use them as well. I don't mind riding with the staff, but because the […] elevators are so small, there is often not enough room (with houskeeping carts, etc.), so guests are forced to wait until the next car. Perhaps they could give the staff a bypass key so that the car does not needlessly stop when there is no way an additional rider could fit? Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fun, visually interesting hotel"
The Hotel Max is a small, fun, artsy hotel. The rooms were clean and plenty large enough for three women to move around, however the bathroom was very tiny! Very good location. The best part was the staff, from the door men, front desk, bartender and the super nice cleaning lady, they were the most accommodating staff of any hotel I have ever visited […] and I was a travel agent/ event coordinator for 8 years!!! "We're not in Kansas"
This is a great place if you want a place in Seattle that is well-situated, don't mind rooms that are on the smaller side, but appreciate hotels that aren't cookie cutter. I get so tired of the chains that I need this sort of thing whenever I can get it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Overall, the room was OK for our getaway with friends. However, the room was rather cold. The heater was loud and not very functional. The bathrooms are cute, yet small. Other than the cold room it was a good stay for our while visiting Seattle.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great modern space, walking distance to bars"
Staff was really laid back and gave us names of bars to check out. It was a good walk to bars but since it is Seattle, it was cold and rainy. Our room was really nice and had a great view and comfy bed. Shower worked great - plus free gumball :)Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was tiny and window was broken, so we could not properly use it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convenient, comfortable, and inexpensive"
I traveled to Seattle for a visit with some friends, and Hotel Max was the most inexpensive hotel in the center city. - fortunately, there was a great disparity between the price and the quality. Because it's a boutique hotel, there was no pool with attached water slide or in-house movie theater or any other completely unnecessary amenity, which I actually […] kind of appreciated. The room was on the smaller side but totally comfortable and had a fairly sizable bathroom, extremely comfortable beds and pillows, and a 40+ inch flat screen (one small detractor - the rooms need larger shades, as ours didn't quite cover the windows and the early-morning light was let in.) The location was perfect, within a five-minute walk of both downtown and the slightly more hip Belltown, and not out of walking distance of Seattle Center or the market/waterfront. The service was really extremely good, and everybody we interacted with from the desk staff to the doormen was very friendly. I would absolutely stay here again. "Best location"
5-10 minute walk to Pike Place Market, the waterfront, the Link to the airport. 20 minute walk to Space needle, bars in Beltown, everything else. Very good location. Comfortable bed and nice covers. Pillow menu was great. Lobby was very nice. Small bathroom, not good for anyone who is tall or overweight. Dead moth found stuck to one of the blinds on […] the windows. Would definitely stay again for location, staff friendliness, and general comfort of hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Pricey for what we needed"
Hotel Max is in a great location and is definitely as artsy as it appears to be online. We only needed a room for sleeping as we were taking day trips with our friends, and because of that we had a few complaints. The bathroom was very small and cramped - as in knees touching the sink pipes when at the toilet small. The shower was also tiny, and didn't […] have a tall floor ledge so the water got all over the floor. The room also didn't have a microwave, which was surprising to me due to the price of the room. If you're not looking to spend a lot of time in the room lounging on the comfy beds (which were awesome), I would not spend this much money for Hotel Max. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel Max in Seattle - nice concept, good service"
The Hotel Max is a step above the usual hotel chain in it's unique effort to match rooms with a rock 'n' roll spirit. While even children of the nineties may not fully buy into the idea of canonizing the post-punks (in fact, the postpunks might not either), they can buy into extremely good customer service (doors opened, hotel secure, personal touches […] available such as customizable pillows, religious books, and house keeping). I saw a door man taking particular care to keep an eye on a customer's child while a car was being unloaded, stepping in to make sure the child didn't go into the street while his parents were distracted. Lastly, the hotel is handy to the main sights of downtown, and accessible by public transit from/to Sea/Tac airport, which helps make it an affordable choice for travellers, as they will not have to rent a car to make it to the hotel, or to the sights of Seattle. All in all, I thought it was a good value with great service. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Bathrooms are a big tiny but the location is great. They are in the middle of the city. The Fish Market is only a few blocks away. Pine and Pike are only a couple of blocks away as well. The service and valet was great. I would come back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Location"
Hotel Max is a cute and unique hotels, in a great location! The art throughout is different and it creates the unique feeling. Compared to surrounding hotels, it is reasonably priced. The rooms were smaller than the average hotel, but nothing to complain about. The bathroom was very compacted and I ended up with several bruices, from trying to move […] around. The staff was average. Not as friendly as one would expect, but not bad either. The men in the valet, need to be more professional - every single time we were either coming in our going out of the hotel, they were on the phone...texting. Overall, good option if you are only interested in getting a place to sleep, at a good price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel Max Review"
The hotel had all the essential elements to make for a good stay such as friendly staff, cleanliness, great location, and easy access to transportation, food, and shopping. What really makes this hotel exceptional is its hip artistic style. I thought it was nicely done, and the little funky things such as a "pillow menu" went well with the theme. I […] heard someone in the elevator complaining about the room sizes. Indeed, it does not follow the stereotypical "bigger is better" maxim so prevalent in contemporary American culture. However, in my opinion, the room size does not take away from the functionality of the room and it actually adds to the overall theme of the hotel by giving it a somewhat european feel. "Hotel Max in Seattle"
Yes, the rooms are very small, but not any different than staying in NYC or other old building in a major city or European city. The hotel was very stylish, clean, and helpful staff. The restaurant and bar were great. The shower was sparkling and good pressure and the bed was so very comfortable with the option to pick from 3 types of pillows. The location […] was a 5-10 minute walk to the Pike Place Fish Market and lots of great restaurants. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel Max-old modern"
This is a ultramodern hotel in a super old building. The deluxe King was a 10x10 room with no room for the suitcase. The bathroom finishes were nice and the bed was comfortable, but the room was a bit drafty and the old windows aloud alot of outside noise into the room. The location was great, minutes from Pikes Place and Seattle Center and the Redfin […] had great half price sushi during happy hour. If you plan on spending much time in your room this is a great hotel. If you are going for a true luxury hotel experience this is not the best choice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Chic Hotel but small rooms"
This hotel definately had some character to it, which is why we picked it. Our group had 2 different rooms. 1 queen room and then one with 2 double beds. We could that the double bed room was too small. We had 3 people staying and it was crammed. Other than that- the hotel was perfect.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great hotel, small rooms"
I was given a free upgrade when i called to find out check in time! I was having friends by and the room could've used more seating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Stay- but be Aware of Some Things"
This hotel is nicely appointed, has an interesting restaurant with a diverse menu, a staff who are extremely friendly and helpful, and is perfectly situated for Seattle sightseeing, dining, and shopping. The rooms are extremely small; we had recently stayed in a Manhattan Hotel in this same price range in a room almost twice the size- just be aware […] of this. Also be aware that in-room internet service is not free. The desk will honor the Hotels.com advert for this, but you will need to ask. Overall a very pleasant stay.
