"Great experience"
We were pleasantly surprised about the quick walking distance to the Space Needle and the EMP. Also, we really enjoyed the breakfast, size of the King Suite and the friendliness of staff. The location was within walking distance from Pike Place Market, the Seattle Aquarium, the Space Needle, Pacific Science Center, and EMP. Everything was about .5 to 1 mile from all these hot spots! The hotel was very nice. Te front desk was helpful and our room was very clean and quiet. Disliked trying to arrange a cab. I called front desk to arrange one. They told me to call back in fifteen minutes because the taxi didn't take reservations. PROS: We had a King bed and were pleasantly surprised to see a large room with separate bathroom area and closet. Sink has a large counter and is separate from shower and toilet. "LaQuinta Seattle, Great Price"
We got a great deal on this hotel which made it worth it. The location was pretty good, within 12-15 blocks of Pike Market and the Space Needle. Everything is within walking distance, but public transportation is available as some things are farther away than others. The breakfast was decent, as expected, muffins, bagels, cereal, etc. They are renovating […] the hotel (it needs an update as the rooms look a little dated), so there is A LOT of noise during the day. We were rarely in our rooms during working hours so it wasn't really a problem for us. Parking is included with the room which is VERY nice (the spaces are pretty small though. The surrounding area is just ok, not really nice, but not that bad. I woudn't go out by myself after dark, but it's fine during the day. I'd say the area south and west of the hotel feels a little more safe when you're out walking. It is a big city though and you have to expect different walks of life. There are several restaurants nearby. We found most of the good local ones were 10 or more blocks away. Of course there's a Starbuck's or some sort of coffee shop on every corner. "Convenient location in Seattle"
The good points: Convenience -- Within walking distance of the Seattle Center. We spent our anniversary dinner at the Space Needle and we just walked there. Free and secure parking-which is a rare service among all the hotels in this area. Nice Rooms -- our room configuration was great. Mostly clean -- the lobby and our floor was immaculate Needs improvement […] -- Registration: We reserved a King suite. If I hadn't called a few days before to ask a few questions, we would have been stuck in a room with a queen and pullout couch. Then on the day of arrival they still hadn't changed it to what we reserved. They didn't tell me or inform hotels.com that they are performing renovations. They made it right, though. We stayed in a king room and got a discount. Renovations: always an irritant at hotels. I am glad we weren't on the fourth floor. When an employee who riding the lift with us got off on the fourth floor, the odor of chemicals just slammed our nostrils. Advertising: Not a big deal, really, but hotels.com shows this hotel has a spa tub. The staff at La Quinta told us they have been trying for months to get the reference to the spa removed. They haven't had one in more than a year. La Quinta made our stay enjoyable and corrected the reservation issues. The staff was friendly. We'd definitely stay here again. Stay was great. After reading other reviews, I decided to stay at the hotel. I was very pleased at how clean the room was. The lobby wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Was getting renovated so it wasn't too outdated. The hallways are a bit old but that didn't matter to me as the room and bed were more important. There were no bed bugs and my girlfriend […] loved the duvet. Having free parking was a plus and being downtown was great for finding places to eat if you plan to drink.
