Within easy reach of winter sports like downhill skiing and cross-country skiing, Northwoods Resort and Conference Center is located in Big Bear Lake, close to Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain and Snow Summit. Also nearby are Big Bear Lake and Big Bear Solar Observatory.

Stillwells - Elegantly prepared steak and seafood are served in a casual setting with mountain decor. In summer, outdoor seating by a pond is available. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. An adjacent bar also offers food beside a wood-burning fireplace.
Guests enjoy a year-round outdoor splash pool and spa tub, as well as a fitness center with elliptical machine, stationary bike, Universal gym, and sauna. Bike and ski rentals are available in the hotel's gift shop.
Water activities such as Jet Skiing, motor boating, parasailing, and sailing are available along Big Bear Lake, between three blocks and one mile from the hotel. One mile away, Meadow Park offers a children's playground and sand volleyball court. Skiing, sledding, snowboarding, and snowshoeing are all within 2.5 miles of the hotel at area ski centers. Bear Mountain Golf Course, 3.5 miles away, has a nine-hole course and 300-yard driving range. A bowling alley is one block from the hotel.

Rooms were clean, but needed minor maintenance. Only 1/4 of staff at front desk was polite and helpful. The Food at Stillwells was great, as was the service. Hotel was close to the village. "Good family hotel"
This hotel has many aspects of a typical chain hotel, with a little extra flair. It was very family oriented with raucous games of Marco Polo in the swimming pool into the evening hours. But we are a family so it suited us well. It's one of the few hotels in the area that has it's own restaurant, which is nice for breakfast and room service. Nice staff, […] in our limited dealings. They were a little slow in doing some needed snow shoveling by the gates and walkways - saw a guy in a wheelchair who had to turn back and seek another route. Room was fine, but a little dark. "heat"
Everything was great except for the heating system. It is either on or off. NO thermostat. The end result is that you heat up the room before you go to sleep and the wake up occasionally at night to turn the heat on for a few minutes to reheat the room. Bed was very comfortable. "Nice place to stay for quick trip in Big Bear"
We were lucky to get the room on a busy New Year Day's weekend. Hotel was nice outside and clean inside. Big parking lot. Close to ski resorts. It was nice to have a gas fireplace in our room. Small room, but was good enough for my family. Only complaint would be very thin walls. Hotel clean and from what I saw well maintained. Great location to access village shopping and ski resorts. Two problems. First the beds were both uncomfortable due to the fact that they appeared to be worn out... two deep depressions on each side with high spot in the middle. In my home the mattresses are replaced when they are worn out. The second, […] minor problem was late maid service 4:20pm. which did not work for me as I had just returned from a day on the slopes. I did tell the Hotel clerk on duty at checkout that I was not at all satisfied with the bed issue and mentioned the maid was only a minor annoyance. His response was "bummer man". Northwoods Resort is a nice place for an over night stay in Big Bear. The heated pool and hot tub feels great after a day on the slopes. The place looks like it's been decorated by the Seven Dwarfs, with woodsy details and a prevalent pine cone motif.
