Red Lion Inn Missoula

My room appeared to be hand-cap accessible as it only had a large shower stall and no bathtub. It had wide doorways and the sink was really low for a wheel-chair. The only strange part was that it was on the second floor - and there was no elevator. So….I'm not sure how anyone in a wheel-chair would ever get up the stairs to this room. Strange.

Staff was excellent. Rooms were a good, clean basic room. We stayed in two rooms while we were there. 2ND floor only had a shower and no micro or refridge. Over all we had a good experience at the Red Lion. Our original plan was for Sunday night for an early morning Monday apt. We decided to go a day early and they were very accommodating. They put us on the second floor and I had a hard time with the stairs so they moved us to the first floor for the second night. Hotel was located near a lot of stuff in downtown Missoula...We were able to walk to dinner every night, within walking distance of local brew pubs and the Wilma theater. My room was fine but it was not ready at 3 pm. The desk clerk was faced with many travelers waiting for their rooms that he could not produce. He did keep his cool and was polite under less than perfect circumstances. The hot tub was promised to be usable but it was not open. They could use more ice machines. Overall though, it was a good stay.

It was great though we were too busy to really enjoy the pool, breakfast etc. The room should have had a fridge and microwave but didn't though we were offered one and declined because we couldn't be bothered moving rooms. The fellow who helped us was great. I liked the way you gave a choice about cleaning, towels, sheets, etc.

Our room was spacious et very clean. The beds were very comfortable with soft sheets. The breakfast was decent. The outside pool was a nice plus on a hot day. The air conditioning was a window unit (the one in the room was out of order) and functioned adequately. Staff was very friendly.

The young staff member at the front desk didn't acknowledge the three of us customers that were waiting behind the person that was checking in. She then asked another staff member for help answering the person's questions in front of me. There were 3 staff people there, and they were all helping the one customer that probably had never stayed in a hotel […] before. But there were 3 other people waiting to be helped, and only one of the 3 staff members were helping us. It was just weird that the manager, or whoever that was who the staff member went to for help, didn't take over that transaction so the front desk staff person could help the rest of us. Same thing happened when I went to get some soap later in the evening, no acknowledgement by the staff member while he was helping another customer. I would have been much happier to wait if I knew that he knew I existed. Both the day and night staff were very pleasant once I had my turn. Rooms were spotless, and very nicely decorated. Would stay again, just hope that they do some customer service training with their staff before I come back! Maybe I'm just getting old, and these 20-year old's just don't have the customer service attitudes that we once had? Read more

We were only there on our way to Washington state but we had a room big enough for my husband to get around in with his wheelchair. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room. May never be back there again but if we are will most likely stay there.

My only complaint was they didn't replenish their breakfast even with several people in the lobby looking for something to eat. Granted it was a 1/2 hr. before the close of the time frame that they serve-but very little left.

Room was exceptionally quiet, even with guests on both sides, we didn't hear them at all. Adjacent restaurant was a bit disappointing -- food was cold. However, the Red Lion does NOT operate the restaurant. Will definitely stay there on future Missoula trips.

While the rooms are not fancy or extra spacious everything is in good working order and pleasant. Having 2 sink areas, 1 inside the bathroom and 1 outside is a good bonus. The area for the breakfast is inadequate when they are full, or the weather isn't cooperating. Also I hated the shower. It was so high it hit me in the face & isn't strong enough spray to wet your hair thoroughly when shampooing. The staff is very friendly.
