We went to Portsmouth to celebrate our friends 50th Birthday. The hotel was full but you never would have known it. There were several bachelorette parties going on in the hotel but once they closed their doors you couldn't hear them. Very close to all the shops, restaurants and night life. "Residence Inn Portsmouth"
The hotel was beautiful. Very impressed with the size of the rooms, the beds were fabulous along with the bedding (great pillows), and all the amenities in the suite. We did not try the breakfast buffet however we were pleased with the fact that coffee was available throughout the night. The lobby bartender told us earlier in the evening that the lobby […] bar was open until 11PM. When we arrived back at the hotel at 10:45PM and requested a drink, the bartender was not pleased to have to unlock the bar and serve us. She was ready to close the bar. "Perfect in every way!"
Myself and three friends stayed here for girl's weekend. We walked to downtown Portsmouth for dinner and live music. The hotel is located in the downtown area and was a safe, quick walk to all the downtown attractions. I chose to go to Portsmouth for my birthday, and as it turns out the Residence Inn by Marriott was a great choice. Hotel super clean, located very close to everything, room was fantastic. I would like to point out that the staff there was exceptional. In noticing it was my birthday, they gave me a free upgrade and sent a birthday card to my room. When […] leaving the next day, an entirely new group of people was working, saying "I hope you had a great bday!" All around A+ experience. The staff their pushed it over the top. My only complaint, though this is probably due to the fact that there are only 3 or so hotels in downtown portsmouth, was that the price seemed a little high. But what can you do.
