We booked this room because we were arriving at an evening wedding reception during a heavy snow storm. We knew we wouldn't make our planned destination. What luck to find the Port Inn. This is a MOTEL. I thought from the website it would be a hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. I had the unfortunate luck of a room in the front, so I was right off the highway. When first arriving, I could hear cars and trucks loudly from the interstate, but it actually was not bad sleeping there. The room had better amenities than […] any motel I've ever been to - mini fridge, hairdryer, microwave, desk, nice TV, access to laundry facilities, ice machine. I would definitely recommend the motel to friends. The only disadvantage was the proximity to downtown. Cabs in Portsmouth are quite pricey - so it's about a $10 cab ride. If I had to complain about something, I'd say the very low sink counter in the bathroom was un-characteristic and that the location, while 5 mintues by car to the center of town, is probably not walk-able if you're going to be carrying things back.
