I spend roughly half the year in hotels for work, mostly Hilton chain stuff (Hampton Inns,etc.) I assumed this would be of similar quality to a Super 8 I had recently stayed in at a similar price. Dead wrong. Rooms very clean, bedding modern and comfortable, bathroom clean. TV's are older, but work just fine. Hallways are dimly lit and showing signs […] of wear, but clean. Front desk staff helpful and friendly. Free breakfast is nothing to be excited about, but is better than nothing. Excellent value for the price, as they obviously take pride in their work and their facility here. Will definetely stay here again. Read more

Hotel was in good condition, staff was friendly. Room was typical. Bed was fairly comfortable. It was fine for a business trip but would look elsewhere if I wanted a weekend getaway. Good room for the money though. Close to downtown portsmouth where all the food is.

The hotel is clean, the staff were very nice and it is right off the highway. The rooms are basic, but had a roomy,bright bathroom; an iron and board, and a small refrigerator and microwave. The beds were comfortable and clean. You can even use the pool and get a discount on food at the nearby Holiday Inn (same owners). There is a small gym and laundry […] available at the hotel, also. Other than the obvious hooker letting her client in a side door, our stay was as expected. The beds were a bit small. I'm 5'8 and slept diagnol so my feet didn't hang over the edge. In all the place was clean and the front desk staff was really nice to my daughter.

Lobby and halls were run down, but the room was clean and comfortable. When I walked into the lobby, it smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke that I asked if the rooms were smoky at all but they were fine.

Great experience. The hotel was easy to find and access of of I-95. My room was ready and clean when I arrived. Free wi-fi allowed me to check work emails on the road. Friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel has an excellent fitness center. However the rest of the hotel needs a fairly complete refit. The wallpaper in my room was pealing. The microwave is visibly rusted. The grime in the refrigerator seals would discourage its use. The breakfast was by far the worst free breakfast I have seen. I can't recommend this property.

For the low room rate that this hotel charges, this is a genuinely great value. If you're looking to stay in a hotel that is clean and updated minus an expensive rate, this is a good choice. In this case my wife just needed a place to stay for a few nights for a seminar... as we're on a budget, 3 nights at a more expensive hotel wasn't going to happen. For three nights, for the cost of what some other hotels cost for one, and given what looked like clean, somewhat recently re-done rooms, we decided to take a chance. The room was adequate, […] conveniently located and had the amenities she needed. Unfortunately at that price the hotel also seems to attract a crowd that isn't exactly concerned about trying to be quiet at 2am, and the walls are far from being sound-proofed. Although she complained to the front desk, and they did respond, the drunk party-goers were not exactly responsive to the hotel staff's directive to quiet down, and 2 out of the 3 nights had her getting very little sleep - and a good night's sleep is the main thing one wants from a hotel. My suggestion would be that the hotel make clear a "3 strikes and you're out" policy. If a third complaint is made, the police are coming and you're out the door. That would probably have a calming effect on the clientele this hotel seems to attract - (though not everyone on a budget likes to be drunk, loud and obnoxious at 3am). None of this was unexpected given the price range - and it's not like the hotel is a dump - it could be nice, if the guests there are better encouraged to be mindful of their neighbors. Read more

I killed some bugs in the room. Awesome. It kind of smelled like a funeral home. Also, awesome. The staff was nice and the cookies are tasty. The worst part - I could see the holiday inn out my window - I stared at it longingly while creeped out.

This hotel is fine for an overnight sleep and a shower but that is about it. There is no in-room internet so being a function business hotel is out of the question unless you want to sit in their really small lobby and work holding your computer in your lap. Sorry, but I prefer a desk and some writing space. The room was clean, the shower hot, the […] bed fairly comfortable. Parking is always tight here if you arrive after 9:00 PM and there is no back door entrance so if the weather is rainy and you have to park away,,,,run for it. The breakfast area in the morning is so tight if 6 people are there at the same time you are rubbing elbows...most go down the street to the local diner...this hotel is associated with the next door Holiday Inn but it is a cheaper alternative. I guess beggars can't be choosers! I wouldn't recommend this place for more than one night providing all you want is a good nights sleep and a hot shower in the morning. I'll use it again simply because it is inexpensive for the area (really a good bargain) and located right off an exit ramp from a highway. My stay was ok but the rooms need to be looked at for updating. My phone went dead and the shower rod was pulling out of the wall so I was stepping on the shower curtain all the time. No in room coffee either. cheap price for one night but I stayed for 2 and could have used a better room.

When we booked our room, we understood it was just a basic hotel. It was listed as not having a swimming pool and that was fine with us. Upon checking in, we were informed the hotel has wi-fi and we had access to the swimming pool at the hotel across the street! Since Portsmouth was in a heat wave, this was VERY welcome news.
