Loved the location and the room. Overall, the hotel was very clean as was our room. Staff was very helpful with our finding a local restaurant for dinner. The pool here stayed open later than most hotels allowing our daughter to get in a quick swim following our night out on the town. Room was quite nice with updated furnishings...the bathroom, although […] very small, was clean and well-stocked with Bath-N-Body Works toiletries. Beds were a little soft for our liking, but not uncomfortable. Breakfast in the hotel dining room was quite tasty and portions were more than satisfying. Both check-in and check out were speedy transactions. The only negative with our stay was that there was some confusion between hotels.com and the hotel because they both billed my debit card. I called hotels.com and they, in turn, called the hotel to handle the reimbursement...I should have the credit in 1-2 business days. We would stay at this hotel again. Read more

My son and I met there as it is half way for each of us. We were greeted nicely and loved our room on the 5th floor right off the elevator. We really were happy to experience the pool. It was warm, clean, & quiet. We decided to eat in the restaurant at the hotel as the weather was rainy and we had been given coupons for 2 free drinks. The restaurant […] was very quiet, which was good, but the server wasn't very...welcoming. She said there were no specials even though the signage said to ask about them. "It's just there to get people to come in. The menu was limited, and when my Chicken Marsala arrived I was surprised to see that the chicken was fried. WE BOOKED AN EXPEDIA SPECIAL SO I DIDN'T KNOW WHICH HOTEL IN PORTSMOUTH IT WOULD BE. UNTIL BOOKED. WE WERE ON THE 6TH FLOOR HOWEVER THE ELEVATOR ONLY WENT UP TO THE 5TH FLOOR. DREADFUL EXPERIENCE!!!!! We were given the key to the WRONG ROOM and walked in on another couple. They were just as upset with this hotel, The HOLIDAY INN in Portsmouth, NH, as we were. The Hotel staff were very nice & professional. However we were disappointed with the size of the bathroom, I thought that it was much to small. I could also say the same for the beds. The elevator, only one for the size & capacity of the Hotel. We were forced to use the stairs most of the time & because I have a disability, it made movement difficult. […] The pool, as well to small for the size of the hotel & because it is an indoor pool it creates an echo that we found painful & annoying. Our stay was wonderful. Staff very helpful. We were there for just one night for a family wedding. If I were to return to Portsmouth, I would not hesitate to stay here. It's right off the highway, just a stone's throw from historic area and price is much cheaper with free parking. Dirty sheets, was given another room, smaller bed where I requested a King recieved a queen, and the TV was broken. Also, the first room there was a complimentary condom left in the night stand drawer. Do not stay here.

There was a mixup with the reservation caused by Expedia, but the staff at the hotel were able to make things ok. Will definately stay here again when I need to be in that area.

Got a room on the fourth floor and everytime a door shut in the floor we could hear it. It was worse with conversations and noises in the hallway which we could hear clearly and woke me up several times during the night.

Hotel met our expectations. Front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful, even upgrading our room at no charge. Not too far from downtown--for us it was walking distance on a nice night! Also, cab fare is much, much more affordable than the difference of the price of the hotels that were right downtown.

This hotel was okay....the rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. We did have to wait over an hour for maintenance to fix the toilet. There was a long walk to the small pool area which was okay, but no hot tub. Also there wasn't a continental breakfast. A very nice location. Enjoyed the Roundabout Diner for some late night snacks. Very convenient to the downtown area - who knew Portsmouth was such a cute town. Will definitely come back!

Being a native of this location, I know the lay of the land and what accommodations are available. I was more then impressed with the staff, food & room that was made available. We travel quite a bit and appreciate being able to enjoy a light breakfast before leaving the hotel. Muffins and coffee in the lounge would have been nice. The stairway right next to our room led to a dumpster at ground level and we could not access the lobby floor. There was no notice on the door leading to the stairs. Hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. Was a little disappointed the treadmill wasn't working when I wanted to use it and there was no hot tub at the pool. Also, the fact that there is only one elevator was annoying. There is no other elevator for the cleaning staff so I found I had to wait A LOT.
