"Poor maintenance"
maintenance is very poor. Our coffee maker did not work. Bathroom exhaust did not work. We informed them after the 1st night, but they did not fix them while we stayed there for 2 more days. We booked hotel thinking it was closer to Miami. The customer service rep for hotels.com said it was a 15 min. drive that ended up being an hour. We were in Miami for the Boat Show and lost time driving back and forth. We called to cancel the 2nd night for that reason and were charged anyway. "It is what it is - Close to Everglades"
For the area it was about what you are going to get. About 2 minutes from the Everglades and about 10 minutes to the bridge to go to the Keys. It is the end of the road on the mainland. "Unimpressed"
When you get to your door, you expect to be able to open the door. We couldn't, went to front desk to tell them and had to wait almost an hour. One of us went back to front desk and had to request further help. When the door was finally repaired by someone hard to understand, was a little concerned about our safety as the inside of the door caved in […] as you shut the door. Ice machine was almost unusable, other guests were actually grilling on a bbq on the 2nd floor. Had to make the choice of plugging in the microwave or charge our phone, couldn't do both. "Floridian Hotel in Homestead FL - close 2 violence"
I've stayed in a roach motel that was better than this one. The clerk at the front desk tried to charge me twice, even though I already paid through the hotels dot com website. The neighbors were involved in suspicious activities, so I didn't feel safe while I was there. "Location convenient to southern Everglades."
This hotel is so poorly maintained, it should be termed " Demolition ready" Evidence of leaks everywhere, peeling paint, dirty carpet, odors. "Not so great"
The room wasn't as clean as one would hope, there was a huge dead bug right in the doorway, hard NOT to see so I don't know why housekeeping neglected to see it or pick it up. TV had poor reception, no wonder, the cable cord was stripped and just hanging. Nothing like a dumpy old van with a flat tire just sitting in front of our room, you could tell […] it had been there for a while since the windows were full of dust. This place was suggested to us and wouldn't have been that bad except for the bugs (not bed bugs-whew) crawling all over both mattresses the very first night. We switched rooms and the 2nd room was much cleaner but had less stuff. We had to bring our iron, the luggage rack and ice bucket from the 1st room. Maid service was less than ideal. Hotel liegt zwar Zentral - Strassenlärm hört man eigentlich nicht. Dafür die Klimaanlage - diese läßt sich weder regeln - noch abschalten!!! Ist nicht das neueste Modell.... Frühstück war ok.
