    Your web site was misleading. You advertised two bed room and two bed room on atrium. I paid for the two bed room thinking it was a city view. Turns out... both rooms were on atrium. Hotel insisted it was on atrium side. Felt misled. by Gilbert  from Seattle on 04/04/13

    Location.
    Situated in the heart of Portland, The Nines is close to Pioneer Courthouse Square, Tom McCall Waterfront Park, and Portland State University. Also nearby are Jeld-Wen Field and Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.

    Hotel Features.
    Dining options at this luxury hotel include a restaurant, a coffee shop/café, and a bar/lounge. Wireless Internet access is complimentary in public areas. This 5-star hotel features business amenities including a business center and small meeting rooms. The staff can provide tour/ticket assistance, wedding services, and event catering. Additional amenities include a health club, spa services, and a concierge desk. For a surcharge, guests have access to a roundtrip airport shuttle (available 24 hours).     I was taken back by the fact that there was no top sheet or blanket on the bed; Just the bottom sheet and the duvet. (We found out later they will provide a top sheet if it is requested.) To top it off it was one of the most uncomfortable beds I have slept in in a long time. It was an inter-spring that is well past it's replacement time. Woke up every […] time I turned over due to the creaking springs. Our room keys were deactived and had to be reissued the for the second night even though our initial reservation was for 2 nights (We weren't the only ones). We received slippers the second night but had to chase down someone for clean glasses. Our used ones were taken but not replaced. No robes.     The Nines is a very posh hotel, clean and the rooms are great. I enjoyed have a room facing the inside courtyard, much less noisy than the streets. The restaurant Departures is great but very expensive for the amount of food you get. I would suggest a drink and some small bites (sushi perhaps) rather than dinner. Just my two cents!

    On the whole our stay at The Nines was great. The location is awesome. It is right at the intersection of a number of MAX rail lines, next to Pioneer Square & Pioneer Place, and is walking distance from pretty much all the destinations and sights in the Downtown area (Pearl District, Cultural District, etc.) For some people, the bar scene might be a […] little too exciting with so many people going up and down the elevators late at night and rowdy and possibly drunk crowds awaiting you at the entrance when you come back to the hotel. But none of the commotion made it onto our floor so it didn't bother us. The one weird thing about our room was that it was on the inside of the building, with windows overlooking the lobby bar and Urban Farmer restaurant. This wasn't necessarily a problem, but no natural light comes into the room and it felt like 4AM even when it was 8AM. But that is only a minor complaint in what was an otherwise great stay at a stylish hotel. Read more

We stayed at 2 hotels in Portland, and the other had much friendlier staff. The only complaint - $39 for one day of valet parking. The valet expense was more than the daily fee for renting the car. My only complaint was I went to check in at 3:15 and our room wasn't ready - since I needed to get to the room and then do some errands this was most inconvenient. While the girl at the front desk was polite […] and apologetic she didn't seem to get that if check in is at 3, then it should be at 3....anyway I would stay again, but be prepared for a bit more pricey experience. I didn't realize until later in my stay that the lounge and social areas is actually behind the front desk. It would have been nice to have a front desk clerk say something like "let me tell you a little about our property, the restaurants are here, gym is here, bar is here...you have access to this...and that, etc..." This type of greeting is pretty typical in 4-5* properties I tend to enjoy. My interior room on on the 10th floor was very nicely appointed althougth I have to say that the bed and all seating was cleary deisgned for a "look" but not for comfort. The bed was horrible, it was pitted in the middle and the pillow top was extremely soft and didn't offer even moderate support. The only seating is a tete a tete that was low, had stiff vertical sides and was completely useless for relaxation unless you need a nap. Again, clearly some thought given to the look of the piece but none to the comfort and actual useabily of the piece. The rooms were quiet. Bathroom was very clean and nicely appointed.     The service - front desk, valet, housekeeping, room service and front end manager - were five star, attentive, professional and eager to help (but not intrusive). The rooms were nice, comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. The walls however are paper thin. If you don't mind listening to your neighbors, it is a perfect hotel.

    The room rate through Expedia was good. Other expenses though were above average for us. Food, drink, and parking at the hotel were above average. Obviously this is a downtown hotel so you would expect to pay more.

I tipped the bellmen $5 to get the bag, the second bell desk clerk for loading the car and the guy who got the car $5. We were given one tiny slider for four of us to share. Seems like they could have spared one slider for each of us, especially with the additional persons charge that we paid.
