Sonor isolation was very poor, heard neighbors making all kinds of noise starting around 4:00AM, cleaning lacking supervision, nothing like a four season or even a Sofitel. "Not worth the money"
This is an expensive hotel and when you pay a certain amount of money you expect to see a matching level of cleanliness. The couch in the room was awful with visible spots of human secretions (yes!!). We asked to have the couch or cushions changed but the lady only brushed the couch and placed a sheet on it. We were offered to go to a different room, […] but the state of the couch was the same with spots everywhere. Also, the sink was clogging every time we use it and it did not have a desired pressure. The shower curtain looked yellow on the bottom and needed a change. I do not know why this is rated five stars. "Disgusting"
I chose the Nines because it was the highest ranked hotel by stars on Hotels.com (4.5 stars) the hotel itself is beautiful and the valet/ check in employees were very professional. Everything was looking great until we got in our room and noticed the chez lounge sofa was covered in male bodilly excression stains!!! We were both disgusted and immediately […] called down to inform someone. They denied it. I took pictures. There is no way it was anything else. I demanded housekeeping come up and they completely agreed with us. There was no doubt what the stains were! I called again and they sent up a new cushion. They didn't apologize, offer us a different room or a discounted rate or anything. They just sort of brushed us under the rug. Not what I expected from a high class hotel. "Loud Party hotel and the food sucks."
Overpriced food and they gave me an atrium room where the music blared every night til 2 AM. Also the food at Urban Farm is disgusting and made me sick and it's wayy overpriced. "A Weekend Without Natural Light"
The windows of our room looked down into the interior part of the hotel. It was an atrium room with no outside view and consequently no natural light. For us it was quite stifling and actually a little suffocating. We immediately asked for a room change but the hotel could not offer that. For us, as travelers, natural light is pertinent for all the […] physiological adjustments that shifting locales requires. On the plus side, the hotel has a restaurant bar on the 15th floor with outdoor decks and heaters overlooking Portland. "Dont use club level"
The hotel is very nice, was great location and fun places to eat. With that said paid extra fro club level. The staff was really bad. Friendly as long as you don't ask for anything like, help, drink, check out. The area is to small and you have to waif for them to get you a drink, even a soda! If your not sitting at one of the few tables or chairs they […] will ignore you, when I asked they said there too busy. On check out the person said she wanted to clean plates and to go to the lobby. "The Nines, not that great but could have been"
I was disappointed that there was no hotel parking when I arrived, but Valet only parking and had to pay I believe 32 to 34 dollars. I don't mind paying for a service, I just mind being ambushed by an undisclosed service. Sometimes you think you are getting a great deal, but the hidden fees become unfair without full disclosure. Also our card would […] not work to enter our floor from the elevator, so we had to wait til the elevator went to the lobby back up to registration to get a new card that would work. This delayed us about 15-20 min. Additionally the fridge is well stocked with all kinds of nice goodies, but no listing of prices. After multiple attempts and calls finally got a listing, glad because the chocolate covered gummie bears and beer was a little pricey.
