Just off I-5 to the east of the Willamette River, the 30-acre Rose Quarter features the Rose Garden arena, Memorial Coliseum, and the Oregon State Convention Center. Acts ranging from Elmo to Bruce Springsteen have played the 20,000-seat arena. To catch the city in bloom, visitors swarm to the Rose Festival’s Grand Floral Parade in June. The front desk associate was friendly but maid service was not. Late at night the hotel is used as a place to do drug deals etc. It is likely just the location but overall you get what you pay for.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to rose garden"
If you are attending an event in the rose quarter, there are few hotels more conveniently located. This one was the cheapest.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We will not stay there again. Even though the price is right, there is a reason for that. The place is a dump and we had no hot water for 2 days because the pilot light was out. Are you kidding me?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to all the places we wanted to visit."
Nice and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Very close to public transportation and all the places we wanted to visit.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel location was very convenient. The hotel wasn't a five star destination, but it served its purpose. It was a great location to easily get to the downtown area or jump on the highway to head to the coast. Location wise it was an 8 and room wise, it was a 4, but once again we were there to see the sights of the city not our hotel room. The staff […] were very friendly and helpful also, another plus for traveling. Thank you guys. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great if all you need is a home base."
If your just looking for a place to store your luggage and get a little shut eye then this place is affordable and located near a major transit center with access to all the Trimet Max lines. "Convenience of the Max-line"
I had come from Ohio to visit family members. The convenience of the Max-line enabled me to get to from many places without a great deal of expense. The hotel's location to immediate eateries and shopping (Lloyd's Center) was nice, too. I was a little disappointed in noting the beds looked as though a pillow had been taken from each bed and the comforter […] was not replaced, undone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location and price trump perks"
Not much in amenities here, and the room was bordering on shabby BUT the location was great. We enjoyed free parking and took the MAX train from across the street to downtown Portland at no extra cost. Staff was friendly and helpful. Free WiFi. I'll stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't be scared as you walk in initially..."
The lobby, elevator & halls in this hotel appear old and kind of nasty/smelly, but the room itself was just fine! It was clean, pretty spacious, had a fridge & coffeemaker. The provided soap&shampoo was organic. And of course, the location was amazing! The hotel was way cheaper than the ones in downtown, but every day we would just hop on the MAX and […] be in downtown in less than 5 minutes. The MAX stop is right next to the hotel, and it's in the free zone, so if you're going downtown, you don't need to buy a ticket. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"My stay"
The motel is in a good location so it is within walking to shopping and such. My issues: the room on the 5th floor only had view of the max train. Front desk person did not make me feel welcome, did not go out of way to make conversation. Did not ask pref on floor or side of motel. In fact none of staff was too friendly. I would recommend only if u […] dont care about friendly or ammenaties. I know it was a cheap room price but. Wifi sucks no decent connection. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Older Hotel, smells funny, but very close."
It is an older hotel and it shows. You can tell people used to (and maybe still try to) smoke in the place. They cover it with that awful flower like smell. The room are very basic, stains on the floors and top blankets but sheets were clean. Bathrooms are from 1960. Windows do now hold the cold out. But it is VERY close to the convention center, well […] within walking. So its a good cheap place to have to crash for the night but I would not stay in and relax. Lots of street noise, but I am not a city person. Hotel was quiet inside. Beds were comfortable. Carpet and bedding were acceptably clean. Tub could have used recalking . . . some grey spots at the "seams". Actually, I good value for the modest price. Dog friendly a huge plus!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

No frills, but comfortable and very convenient to downtown via transit stop. (Would have been nice to have a refrigerator, but there is an ice machine available.) Have stayed here several times now so obviously it meets my requirements..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel for the price !!!"
I have stayed here 3 times now and if you want a super cheap hotel that is a 1 minute walk to the FREE Max train into the city, you can't beat this place. It's and old dumpy hotel, not dirty just old and dumpy...but everything has been clean on my stays here, the beds have been comfortable and the people at the front desk are nice. "Portland Inn at the Convention - Great Location"
We enjoyed our stay at Inn at the Convention Centre. The staff on reception were all very helpful and informative and gave us a great map on check out. They also pointed out some happy hour venues which was terrific. The hotel is in a great spot with the free tram to the city right outside the door. A large shopping centre and supermarket in walking […] distance as well. The hotel is a little dated, but the room was comfortable with all that was needed for our trip. We could recommend it to people looking for a convenient spot at very reasonable price and does not mind if everything in the hotel is not brand new. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It was in the center of everything. Although the hotel needs a renovation. Their carpet inside and outside the room are old. Over all the service was good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location & good value"
Decent hotel. The location is excellent - right across from the MAX. Condition of the hotel is OK except for the hallways. Rooms are nicer than the hallways. Definitely not a luxury hotel but the location and value are very good. We have stayed there almost every year for the last 6 years or so and would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not like the picture"
Stay across the road at the owners better hotel the Red Lion Inn. They have excellent service, food, accomodations, etc! We had nothing! They promised to at least get us a bar fridge but they never did. No fan in the tiny, windowless bathroom. Very dirty, tired, and dated. Nothing in the tiny lobby to offer guests.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"gross"
This was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. I usually don't care that much about decor--but this was terrible--it looked like they hadn't updated (or cleaned much) since about 1970. When I got off the elevator, it smelled disgusting. I definitely checked my bed carefully for bugs. I didn't find any, thankfully. It seemed to have been cleaned […] ok, but I think because the sheets, towels, carpets were so old, everything seemed really grungy. That being said, it was in a very convenient location--right across from the train stop, which was very helpful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The convenient Hotel - close to all in Portland"
This Hotel was older than some but clean. The best thing about it was the fact that it was close to the center of town and was directly across the street from a main tram station. You could virtually get anywhere fast from this location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were put on the second floor on the side of the MAX rail. I had a child with me, so that probably wasnt the best choice of rooms the clerk could have put us in. Not only did we have to hear the train all day and all night, but the street noise of the drunken people outside at 3am sounded like they were right in our room. Then there were people yelling […] in the hallway in the middle of the night. Saturday morning we were woken at 7a.m. to a worker outside with a blower on the street. Came to Portland to watch the Lakers play at the Rose Garden. Lodged for one night with my husband, daughter, and dog for a very reasonable price. Wifi. Room was clean. We were an easy walking distance to the Rose Garden. Easy walking access to several food/coffee establishments. Nearby pet space. Very close to downtown. I had read other reviews stating […] the there is a train on one side of the hotel and could be nosy so I called ahead and asked for room on the opposite side. They were nice and accommodating. DIRECT FROM THE AIRPORT ON THE VERY EFFICIENT MAX TRAIN LINE. DIRECT TRAIN/BUS ACCESS TO DOWNTOWN. SOUTH SIDE IS QUIETEST C/O TRAIN AND MAJOR AVENUE TRAFFIC. PRICE IS FAIR.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed for two nights, good location right outside of the downtown area. Bed sheets had cigarette burns on them, no breakfast and can be hard to find parking if there are events going on at the convention center. Hotel was fine but probably wouldn't go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good Value, Not Well Kept"
The Inn has very reasonably priced rooms with a wall of window... good city views. The front desk person usually hides in the little room to the side of the desk and will be helpful only if encouraged. The lobby, elevator, hall floors are vacuumed once a day if that ... perhaps skipping Sundays. Our bathroom floor was sticky when we arrived. The cleaning […] person quickly and politely remedied that when asked. We like the place because of the convenient location and room views. "Expect lower expectation for 2 star hotel"
I've been to other 2 star hotels, but I was a bit surprised. I could hear people talking from the next room and had to turn on the TV to cover that sound. Sehr laut, selbst wenn die Fenter geschlossen sind, außerdem hellhörig. Das Hotel war vielleicht mal schön, aber es ist nicht gepflegt. Die Teppiche sind überall fleckig, im Flur riecht es seltsam. It was OK but the corridor was smelly, not aireated enough. Inside the rooms they should change the lamps (very old), the chairs (the material was completely worn out)... The best point was the proimity to the metro station. Remember that the use of the metro lines downtown is free in Portland!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
