The motel is in a good location so it is within walking to shopping and such. My issues: the room on the 5th floor only had view of the max train. "Older Hotel, smells funny, but very close."
It is an older hotel and it shows. You can tell people used to (and maybe still try to) smoke in the place. They cover it with that awful flower like smell. "Portland Inn at the Convention - Great Location"
We enjoyed our stay at Inn at the Convention Centre. The staff on reception were all very helpful and informative and gave us a great map on check out. They also pointed out some happy hour venues which was terrific. The hotel is in a great spot with the free tram to the city right outside the door. This was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. I usually don't care that much about decor--but this was terrible--it looked like they hadn't updated (or cleaned much) since about 1970. The front desk person usually hides in the little room to the side of the desk and will be helpful only if encouraged.
