This hotel is very old and not very well maintained. The carpets are stained, the walls have lots of mark on them. The pillows are AWFUL!! We stayed there because of the location. I would not every stay there again or recommend it to anyone.

although the room was clean the lobby, elevator and hallway had a very strong incense odor that made us headachy. We also had two "holds" put on our credit card, even though we booked and paid through hotels.com

Took 20 min. to check in. The room had mold on ceiling. The free breakfast advertised was not available. The furniture in the room was broken. The 2 queen beds were actually full sized. Location was the only thing this hotel had going for it

The hotel as a whole needs updating. If it was it would be very enjoyable and extremely close to the convention center. But in all, the condition was semi-dirty and fairly dated.

Nothing particularly bad, but nothing particularly good either. This is an old hotel that seems old. There comes a time when carpets and furniture need to be replaced, and a fresh coat of paint applied and this hotel has reached it. The bed was soft, the water hot. It met my needs so i was satisfied.

Right in max line- is a plus! windows wont open- feels a bit stuffy and musty. Room was spacious, decent king bed and pillows, great bathroom counter space/ dressing area- full length mirror, iron and board. Also nice w/ kitchenette, micro/ fridge.

The room smelled like cigarette smoke, there was long strands of hair in the bed, the towels were dirty, the heat barely worked and the room wasn't comfortable. I was very turned off and will never return. The fact that my son whose little had to experience that made it even worse for my family and I. The Convention Inn definitely needs to step it up […] especially since they decided to name themselves after the Convention Center. The Inn was convieniently located to the convention center and transportation anywhere in the city. It was an old motel, but the rooms were clean and the people that worked there were very nice and helpful.

The property is really run down. There's a funny smell to the rooms. I would not recommend unless you had no other choices. On the plus side, the MAX light rail is right in front of the building, and the new street car line is just down the block so you have easy access to anywhere you want to go in Portland.

For the price I'd stay there again... Proximity to convention center was great... The hotel reminded me of European hostels when I was young and traveling on a real cheap budget (except the inns room have private bathroom). I would not stay there with my family.

It was very close to the conference I was attending, but there was a reason I was staying out late. The beds were extremely low quality and the pillows were horrible. Lots of cracks in the grouting around the tub and tile. Got the job done but I'll never stay there again. The Red Lion is right next door and a much better option.

The whole place looked, felt, smelled dirty. Dents in walls in my very dimly lit, horribly outdated room. Streetcar loud enough to wake me up, and I was on the fifth floor. Peeling wallpower. Stains everywhere, including large ones on a padded bench at the foot of the bed that you wouldn't dare sit on or place anything on. I will never stay here or ever tell someone to stay here! There was less then 1/4 left on the toilet paper roll, the shower doesn't drain and there was a huge burn hole in the blanket! I couldn't wait to leave!

Right across the street from the MAX line but the noise and rumbling floors from the trains made it not so great. Light sleepers beware. Restaurant is closed down. The Inn looks like it is about to close. OK price, I suppose. Wifi was slow, spotty, with a heavy filter.

This hotel was significantly cheaper than the host hotel my conference was at. So, I guess the best way to look at it was, "what did I expect". It started off with finding a sack of marijuana and smoking paraphernalia next to the bed (on the table). When I brough this to the attention of the staff, they didn't seem to care at all, and attempted to say […] how medical marijuana is legal in the state. I DIDN'T CARE. All I cared about was that the room couldn't have been properly cleaned if a bag of marijuana was on the bedside table. Another point of concern, which is out of their control, is that there is a rail line next to the window. You don't need a wake-up call - it will drive past every 15-20 minutes beginning around 7 am. Clean sheets, towels, bedspreads, and carpet. Bathroom was mostly clean. Chairs in room were stained, but nothing obviously gross, more like coffee or wet towels or something. Mattresses were comfortable. Internet was incredibly slow, and when I complained was told that it was because the hotel was full. Duh, it is a conference hotel and there was a […] conference. Several people rented rooms and were told there were "maintenance issues" and were sent to other hotels far away. Seems like that was a lie and the hotel was oversold, but who knows. Glad I didn't get put on the 5th floor where the smoking rooms are, apparently all of the rooms up there smelled like smoke. Anyway, it was cheap and near the conference center and clean enough. The decor looked like it hadn't been updated since the 1980s. It did have a coffee pot and iron in the room, plus organic soaps/shampoos. It was convenient for getting to Portland State University.

This hotel is old and dilapidated. While the staff was helpful and courteous, the building is falling apart. The walls, the carpet, and even the ceilings were in need of maintenance. It is very close to the convention center and the MAX train station. If you are unlucky enough to be on the north side of the building, you will hear the MAX trains all […] night long, making sleep difficult. The hotel advertises free WiFi, but it is barely useable. In all fairness, I was here for a computer convention, so it could easily be too many techies trying to use the system at the same time. I would recommend this hotel only if everything else is full. Limited parking and no Handicap Parking. Housekeeping didn't vacuum every day and there was no offer of even a Continental Breakfast. For the same price I've stayed at other places in close vicinity they all offered at least a continental breakfast.

The location was great but the bed looked as if someone had just gotten out and it wasn't me. I would never sleep here again. I'm pretty sure there were people living in most of the rooms. The men at the desk were helpful but not overly friendly.

One of the worse ever, seriously if a goat ran down the hallway it would of been appropriate. It smelled elevator had craved graffiti, marijuana smell lingered on our floor. Complete nightmare. Desk staff is fine but room is nightmare - dirty dirty dirty - neighborhood is plagued by drugs and drama all night long - location surrounded by psychtronic radio towers and chemtrails. If u are energy sensitive steer clear of this area.
