The front desk associate was friendly but maid service was not. Late at night the hotel is used as a place to do drug deals etc. It is likely just the location but overall you get what you pay for.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dirty, slow service, very shady hotel guests"
Would not stay here again. The other hotel guests were some of the shadiest I've ever seen. Service was horribly slow checking in. The place was run down and dirty. The only redeeming feature was the price and cheap pet feeGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Avoid this place"
Took 20 min. to check in. The room had mold on ceiling. The free breakfast advertised was not available. The furniture in the room was broken. The 2 queen beds were actually full sized. Location was the only thing this hotel had going for itGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"not happy"
not only was the room disgustingly dirty washcloth left from the last customer anyways and then after hotels.com booked me the room they were advertising the same room online for 20 dollars less a night not a happy customerGenuine Hotels.com guest review
this was the most disgusting hotel i have ever stayed in. i seriously worried that the sheets were not clean. i know that its old but for $85.00 a night they can afford to fix it up a bit. everything smelled. everything was dirty. the shower and bathtub were rusty and moldy. i dont have anything nice to say except location, however i will research other […] hotels in the area before i will ever step foot in this one. btw it brought to mind what you would expect from a rent by the hour hotel Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Shady INN"
Check in went smoothly but nothing else did! Our room was dirty especialy the bathroom. The pillows were the size of a book, the thermostat didn't work. There weren't enough towels for three of us and when calling the front desk they stated understaffed and would have security bring them up in a while. The picture fell off the wall and it smelled like […] smoke. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worst hotel ever!"
I have never complained about a hotel before but this place took the cake! When we opened the door the smell of the room rushed out at you and made you gag. The heat was left on so that made the smell worse. It was a combination of smoke, BO and what we later discovered was dried vomit. The room was filthy. dried food crusted on the tv and table and […] dried vomit on the carpet. Would of left if there were any other vacancies in the area but there weren't. Would never stay there again. It's such a great location across from the convention center I don't know why the owners don't take care of the place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stay away from this hotel."
I've traveled to 13 countries and to about 25 cities here in the U.S. I stayed in so many hotels, this hotel is by far the dirtiest and the smelliest. I supposedly stayed in a no smoking section of the hotel, but I could smell cigarettes and marijuana coming from the halls or vents, into my room. People smoking in the staircases. A lot of shady activity […] in and around in the parking lot. I've seen females propping the emergency stairway exit open and let guys in ( you guess). The walls and the carpets are so dirty. The small sofa I had in my room looked very disgusting... The only good thing about this hotel is the convenient location. Other than that, your stay there will be a painful experience. "Do not stay here not a 4* hotel"
Sheets and pillows stained we ask for others and they were just as badGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The room smelled like cigarette smoke, there was long strands of hair in the bed, the towels were dirty, the heat barely worked and the room wasn't comfortable. I was very turned off and will never return. The fact that my son whose little had to experience that made it even worse for my family and I. The Convention Inn definitely needs to step it up […] especially since they decided to name themselves after the Convention Center. You would think they would be clean and nice not some whole in the wall. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We will not stay there again. Even though the price is right, there is a reason for that. The place is a dump and we had no hot water for 2 days because the pilot light was out. Are you kidding me?Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Do not stay here for comfort."
I would not stay there again. The halls and elevators had not been cleaned in quite awhile. The room smelled musty. The windows were dirty. The WIFI did not work, or was not available. Thankfully, I was only there one night.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Close to MAX rail line"
...So close you can hear it through out the nite. The building is a bit old and has this unsettling grundgy, vibe. The bathroom seemed like it had been wiped down instead of cleaned. I say this cause the tub still had a soap residue from where the previous tenant placed the soap down on the tub. I ended up sleeping on top of the comforter cause I was […] afraid to climb under the sheets. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't let the name and location fool you!"
I expected this hotel to be well maintained and up to date considering it was across the street from the Portland Convention Center but that was NOT the case. It had a dated and run down lobby, closed restaurant with film up to the windows of the restaurant, smelly hallways, and the room was old and unkept. I called a friend to find out if I could stay […] with her during the duration of my stay in Portland. At any rate, it's not worth it. I would not stay here again, ever. If this is your only choice of hotel then stay, but not a clean or happy place to stay! Very loud with large window that is really thin to let rail sound in all night!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Time for the bulldozer!"
Very run down and smelled like a dirty ashtray. The lobby looked okay, but the hallways and rooms were grim. Towels, sheets and blankets were very thin. Lots of noise from nearby train.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Not INN....should be OUT"
the holel is in need of a major overhaul. Smells of pinesol and then trying to cover it up with vanilla scents. There is a very heavy under smell of cigerette smoke. The NOISE from the LRT is horrid. Forget about getting a good nights sleep. Beds are lumpy and not supportive, pillows are small and whimpy. We will not be staying there again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Stay somewhere else... Like in a cardboard box."
Upon pulling into the facility, I knew we were in trouble. Located next to MAX, Portland's mass transit rail system, be prepared to hear and feel the train until the wee hours of the morning. Sure it will lighten up after midnight, but it picks up around 4am. It's post 70's decor is not cool, the moldy bathrooms are just plain icky and the pillows […] are the worst. "Way Below Average"
I've traveled around the world, and have stayed at hostels and very basic inns in developing countries. I don't need a luxary, but I expect my room to be clean. The Inn at the Convention Center was easily the WORST place I've ever had to spend a night. It was smelly, dirty and scary. I was scared of the bed, even (I feel lucky that I didn't experience […] bed bugs.). I was supposed to stay for two nights. I didn't get in until just after midnight, so I couldn't do much about it. (Plus, I was hoping that the shock would wear off and I'd wake up finding that it wasn't as bad as I thought. I'm a natural optimist.) I didn't sleep and ultimately, was lucky that another hotel had availability for my second night in town. SERIOUSLY, THE GROSSEST place I've ever had the misfortune to have stayed. "Bad experience"
The whole place looked, felt, smelled dirty. Dents in walls in my very dimly lit, horribly outdated room. Streetcar loud enough to wake me up, and I was on the fifth floor. Peeling wallpower. Stains everywhere, including large ones on a padded bench at the foot of the bed that you wouldn't dare sit on or place anything on. I paid for and expected economy […] lodging near (not in) downtown, but this place is awful. Having this hotel on the Hotels.com website is probably not a good idea. "worst hotel in the United States"
This was by far the worst place I ever stayed at. Dreadful is an understatement, staff looked like they were ex cons and which in fact promoted prostitution and drug use there. Room was a mess, the maids just made the bed at that was it and they didn't speak english. Pubic hair was in the bed along with tiny blood staines. The other room next door which […] our friends stayed in was in the same condition. Bathroom was not cleaned along with the rest of the room of course. Tweekers were walking around in the hall way, used needles and drug baggies were found in the bathroom drawer. Other then that this place was a dump. I would give this rating a zero. Surly staff of one. Run down, dirty. In serious need of refurbishment. For example, no ice in any of the three machines. Room rate is way over the quality of the facility.Genuine Expedia guest review

"I N N = I ´ts N ot N ice"
When you see a carpet on the elevator that looks as a Museum piece then something freaky might be coming upon you. A supposedly non smoking room that smells like a mixture of smokehouse and landfill is not easy to swallow. Teared and almost transparent towels make a great companion to the overall appearance of this conveniently located ghost-house. […] If you insist make sure you bring your own towels, several air re fresheners and something to cover the bedroom chair, its appearance is spooky! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worst Ever!!"
The Inn at the Convention Center was probably the worst I have ever seen. Rooms were not clean, bathroom sinks did not drain. Shower heads did not work properly. Photos are not an accurate representation of this hotel. I was really disappointed. The staff at the arrival was really unfriendly. Then the start was a shock. The elevator so durty and the room as well was not nice.
