Location of this place is not the best. Right next to a Burger King that was always busy and at times was too noisy at night. is good for a point A to B trip, just to sleep and get on your way maybe. Walls were paper thin, screaming and jumping child next door, heavy walkers above, blasting TVs heard thru all walls. First off the driveway to the hotel wasn't obvious, the sign was small. I missed it and had to turn around. The hotel itself is fine, if all you need it a room with a bed. Pretty much what you'd expect from a 3-star hotel. free breakfast, free wifi in room, TV channel selection is pretty standard (40 or so channels) Water pressure in shower could use […] some improvement (we were on first floor). Parking is in front of the hotel and is free. but turns out the car that parked next to ours got broken into and the owner lost his luggage. "Clean, comfortable, predictable."
This is a place I chose because I got a late start reserving a place for that weekend. Apparently, Portland is very popular in the Spring. The other issue I had was finding a place that accepts pets. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast included was satisfactory but not excellent. It did save a lot of time because we did not have to hunt […] down a place to get breakfast. The hotel was going through some remodeling, but the disturbance was minimal. I hope that when they are done, the hotel will look more updated. This would not be my first choice if I was looking for great Portland atmosphere, but it was clean and comfortable, and the truth is that we weren't in the room for long. One thing that did annoy me was the surprise from the desk clerk that we had a dog with us. The desk person checked me in to a room that did not take pets, then discovered I had my dog with me and had to rearrange the rooms. Seriously, on the phone, they must have asked me five times if I had a pet and I said "yes" every time. Even if the reservation was through Expedia, there MUST be some place where they can communicate this. Also, I commented on how so many hotels were full and how busy the lobby was and were there a lot of events in Portland that weekend? He mumbled "yeah" and waved his hand vaguely at a sign by the desk. I know I am not a smart-phone screen, just a dull, real-life person, but that put me off. The woman was much more sociable.
